So we've obviously had space and town police stations. Now City has given us Forest and Swamp Police Stations. What's next? The Outback with wily dingos and kangaroos to rob the locals? Maybe a Police Station for the Arctic theme because we all know how much trouble the polar bears cause. These are getting ridiculous. All the while the town doesn't have proper bank, post office, or gas station.3 points

Luckily no! I had about $350 in VIP and $400 from gift cards from the holidays :-) Add in all the freebies to be sold and reward sites for the purchases and it reduces the burn by a good amount.2 points

Just saw a UG auction end at $102 on eBay. Hopefully these things start creeping up now.2 points

Belongs to a friends daughter doing a science project on solar power. Bought the solar kit to use and we are going to build different solar powered vehicles (big/small wheels, tracked) to see the impact on the amount of power produced. Who says lego isn't educational? :)2 points

We have recently seen examples of items being in the catalog, but already gone including the spring catalog with the SSD. Also are you really from Antarctica? If so, is Lego's current Arctic theme a hot seller there? If so, is that dangerous?2 points

My tru had the elsa castle out yesterday. They said they only got 6 in and I got the last one. Was going to qfll but it looks like they are only selling for $65 shipped on ebay and my local craiglist has them at $60. After taxes my cost being $45 just doesnt seem like much profit margin there. My 5 year old daughter already found it and is offering her unopened Olivia house that she got for Christmas. That might be my best offer.2 points

I built the DDC because yesterday someone in the DD thread wanted to know if it floats. Well it does float but not upright like in the movie, see pics. Note: no Minifigs were hurt during this test. That being said deffinetly best build of 2015 so far. You get a lot for your money including the cop car which was a nice mini build, also not pictured is unikitty she was sold on eBay to cover the cost of the set. Now back to the Slave11 point

Because I only sold 1 on ebay out of my 100+ and listed on CL but no one seems to want to buy them... I actually got them @ 20% plus the redcard 5% though. Maybe I should hold on them for a little while and see... Sent from my SM-N915T using Brickpicker mobile app1 point

Hard to Find is simply one of the "Exclusive" type tags Lego puts on a set with limited availability. You're not going to walk into a supermarket and find a Tumbler on the shelf.1 point

1st sale of 2015, Elsa's Ice Castle $65. 9999 more transactions like this one and it will be a good year. Edit: Sold to a buyer in HI...so technically I sold an item back in time.1 point

I'm actually a little worried about that after the thrashing of Wisconsin. I would of never guessed that. I'm driving down to FL to watch with a huge Baylor fan whose dad has been on a NFL coaching staff his whole life. He already gave me crap about TCU crushing Ole Miss seeing that was our only loss. My UPS driver is also a huge OSU fan so got a lot riding on this one for bragging rights LOL. We are not that good or dominate like 2-3 years ago so I really thing it will be a closer game than most are expecting. I have a bad feeling and whenever I do its usually not good for us.1 point

Well, I'm a Buckeye, and I will be shocked if we don't get our arses kicked. I still can't believe we're contending for a national championship with the 3rd string quarterback starting. I'll still be watching...1 point

so...have some nice NYE presents for my fellow brickpickers around the world: 1. pretty concrete confirmation on many soon-to-be-official retirement of many sets including SSD, TH, GE, HH, Sopwith etc (wont list them all so not to spoil some potential surprises) -> Go to Sales & Deals page of the Lego Australia LEGO Shop at Home site AND also browse each of the Theme sections (especially the Exclusive Section) to see additional sets that were put on 'sale' even though long sold out. 2. heads-up on AWESOME New Year sale now on for Aussie Folk (208 items on sale, most at 30% off although many are already not available) -> Go to Sales & Deals page of the Lego Australia LEGO Shop at Home site. 3. heads-up on potential New Year sale for at least the European Folk (assuming the sets for the Aussie sale becomes live at midnight in your various regions) -> Go to Sales & Deals page of the Lego Australia LEGO Shop at Home site for a preview Happy New Years!! Looks like 2015 will be a banner year for those of us lucky enough to listen the wise 'old' men's advice and stock up on exclusives over the past months and years!1 point

Welcome to Brickpicker! I'm a new guy around here as well, but for the most part everyone seems friendly, with a genuine desire to help one another out. Can't give a lot of advice other than what's been given already. I would have to say though, with the background and budget you've described, in all honesty the F5 key can be a good friend; it has for me. It's always nice to luck onto a few great buys that are guaranteed to be a good return on your investment right as they're going EOL. Best of luck to you!1 point

Bored, so posting this minutia detail. Saw the Green Lantern set in the store tonight, and was surprised how thin the box was. Like the same front dimension as the usual $20 set box size, but much thinner. Going to be great to store 8 of those in the same space you can store 5 Arctic Batman's, etc. That is all.1 point

I think you might be right but I cashed most of mine out at a 60% profit because those funds are better used in other Lego endeavors (although another 40% profit from 2014-2015 is excellent)1 point
