  1. Hi- I am new around here, mainly a lego collector for my son and I for sets we want. I like to buy sets on sale more than anything when I find them...however have enjoyed reading recent posts about TH, GE, HH etc. The thrill of the chase is so exciting indeed. Today I went to Legoland Florida with my family, here is a synopsis of some of their inventory: HH- in stock but has its own place behind the counter, very low supply. TH- tons of them in every store, lots of stock per employee. SC- had two in the stores only- great seller for British visitors, we're expecting many more to come T1- tons Tumbler- tons, slow seller (prob because of price) GE ( I think I have that abbreviation right)- tons HE- tons Mersk- I counted 10 The lego employe I spoke to for a while ( we met most, my son was mini fig swapping all day) was a manager and we discussed business for a little bit. The big sets are slow sellers as most people who come are reluctant to buy a big set, because of the pricing and the large box for traveling home with. He also said that as long as a product was not retired, Legolands In general will have it, they are committed to carrying every product until it is retired- so as not to disappoint any customer and giving everyone the opportunity to purchase something that they want... With that being said- the hint was that HH was about to be retired first out of the sets mentioned, it had lost shelf space and they were placing behind the counter to actively clear their stock. He thought SC wouldn't retire anytime soon, he hoped it wouldn't as it was a great product for military enthusiasts and Brits. Legoland does not honor VIP and outs no limits on quantities. Interesting to point out that there were no Delorians, Exo Suits or RI's, when I asked he said he will get more in, the price point is so good that they sell really fast and in large quantities. All this info may have been covered elsewhere, I resisted the urge to buy anything my friend however got 2 TH's, 3 SC's, 2 HH',s with no sales tax and shipping to DC. My son raked up on mixels and my daughter mini figs- my wife was in shock that I did not buy any more than that. Thanks for this great resource, I love this website, may the lego gods be good to you all.! Cheers

  2. I can confirm that Legoland florida is out of stock all lego and enforcing the ban hammer for any purchase over $50. Nobody ever go there. The first rule of Legoland FL is we don't talk about Legoland FL.

  4. What I find interesting is that pictures, reviews, etc. can be found/researched before a set is purchased. Some reviewers claim to even do this, then purchase the set anyway and complain about the size. WTH??? Did you think Lego was going to send you a bigger set with more detail?

  6. agree with 1. there are drone videos already showing this. #2 - ok . no empiric evidence yet - no leaked photos. won't you be sort of bummed out if in fact you are wrong, there isn't a new MF until late 2016 and next year when movie comes out and 7965 has been EOL for 8 months, they are selling for $350 you don't have any in your closet? or worse yet - its another MIDI scale MF that comes out next year because they want to make a ton of money selling 650 piece $70 MFs and then you know there's nothing in the pipeline til 2017 and 7965 gets up to 400ish?

  12. To me, the Birds set takes LEGO to another level. It is a classy and informative set that teaches as well as entertains. I think people get too wrapped up in PPP and other typical LEGO barometers. This is a small UCS set IMO. Great job and investment

  13. I had a pretty good craigslist score today. Bought the following used lot. All look to be complete upon first inspection. 10173 holiday train 4512 cargo train 6990 space monorail 6921 monorail accessory track 6211 imperial star destroyer 7823 container crane depot 4520 curved track (new/unopened) a huge tote of extra 9V train track all for the grand sum of $350. lot calculator shows a bp value of $1236, not including the extra tote of track. I am super stoked and cant wait to dig into this, but it wil probably have to wait until after the holidays since I have been so busy lately.

  15. Bought 2x SSD and 1x HH at Legoland yesterday. As I carried the first SSD to the register, and stood in line, I got asked about 5 different times, "is that your Christmas present? How many pieces is that? How long will it take for you to put it together." I just smiled and said, "yes, it's my Christmas present, 3200 pieces, and a very long time."

  22. You can I've placed two orders for Minecraft sets. I received one but Australia Post has lost the other. The problem with LEGO Shop at Home Australia is they take 13 business days to ship orders. Which is ridiculous.

  33. I agree with the comment about the picture. It's confusing when you show two in the picture. Also, this time of year people want expedited shipping because they are nervous they won't get the item in time. In most people's minds economy = slow. I use either priority or FedEx ground as expedited and FedEx is pretty cheap for larger items. You will occasionally get burned offering free shipping but I find it evens out in the long run its just that you remember the times you are burned more. Also offering returns is a mental thing with buyers. I have sold hundreds of items on eBay on only had one or two returns. It just doesn't happen often.

  36. how did you get a picture of me? all the TRU's around me are not in locations where people are spending 3 x msrp on little plastic bricks. so no i won't actually be huckstering minecraft with the got tumblers? got minecraft? sandwich sign in the tru parking lot as entertaining as it might be for a new reality show i'm trying to get on bravo called brickpicker wars. it goes through the trials and tribulations of the QFLL as they struggle to find new and ingenious ways to wheel and deal in lego while trying to stay one brick ahead of the competition, dealing with uncooperative TRU managers, and trying to master the jedi mind powers of pseudoty. thursday after the real housewives of milwaukee. somehow i see the first episode ends up with me getting put in the back of cop car and my tumblers and minecraft being confiscated. YEP!

  37. OK, I just received my package from Yo-Yo. When I open it, there are tons & tons of air bubbles. At the bottom of the box is my order of 10 Mixels. While they arrived safely & I'm grateful for that. The box seems a little too big for 10 Mixels. So, let's see what would have fit appropriately in this box. Oh, here it is, Winter Market Village fits just fine & with enough room left over for the Mixels. No...not 1 WMV but 5! 5 WMV fit very comfortably in this box...

  39. They had these same boxes by the pallet last year as well. It may be weird but when you dump the contents out for sorting they just don't feel or sound quite like normal set based Lego elements - a much thinner sound & the yellows are much more mustard'ey looking. The box tops do make a neat little wall hanger thou.

  49. Chin up! We'll get through another round! Slow-moving parents of young children despise faster-moving parents of small children who get there first. Fast-moving parents of small children despise adult collectors who buy the last box on the shelf when they SHOULD leave it "for the children!" Collectors despise the collector/casual investor who buys TWO of a set (shocking! Just shocking! Even if they are the LAST TWO!!) and don't leave any for the purist collector. Collector/Casual Investors despise the Mid-Level Investor/Collector who don't leave any for them. Mid-Level Investor/Collectors despise the High-Level Investor/Reseller (often those counting on Lego for a significant amount or all of their income) who don't leave any for them. It's not "sick" for someone to buy more Lego than another person, or for them not to leave Lego on the shelf for the children, the parents, the purist collectors, the casual investors, the lazy, the stupid, or the weak. We're not talking bottled water in a hurricane here, we're talking a luxury toy. I won't call you whiny if you don't call me sick. Or, better yet, keep calling me sick all you want instead of taking steps to make sure you can compete with me on the fair and level playing field called "Open Hours" at the store selling Lego.
