Now: "Eh, this set is a dust collector." "Lego really screwed the pooch on this one!" "Ewoks are so LAME! ROTJ is the worstest!" First Signs of EOL: "Guaranteed massive winner!" "ZOMG SO MANY AWESOME MINIFIGS! SO MANY PROFITS!!" "F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5" Book it. Edit: once again, the proofreader has been sacked.8 points

Since the (expected) EOL of the TH, I would really not be surprised that TLG will stop producing SOH. It can take a long while before they will clear out stock, but with the 15% discount they can sell a few. I ordered at least one last weekend and I'm planning to buy more this weekend, of course I will check the seal codes. I really wouldn't be surprised if SOH retires within a 2 year lifespan and becoming one of the rarest large sets out there.. it's at least not hoarded. is the set really that bad? In my opinion it isn't. Ed is right about the 'weight'; this set contains a lot of large pieces. Furthermore I think they did a good job designing the building and don't forget it is a extremely difficult roof and design this building in fact has. I like the set very much, but perhaps this is because I did the road trip of my life in that beautiful country of Australia.. I really like it that almost nobody is buying this even @ a good discount. 225 euro is great in my eyes, that's almost TB retail here in Holland. Do you like Taj Mahal? or the Statue of Liberty? I don't.. but when I see now how good these sets are performing I really don't want to miss out a great landmark set. For me it's a no-brainer, it is still part of the great landmark sets. I really think this will be a big surprise for a lot of people that it will go EOL sooner than you think. Demand in the aftermarket? Everybody loves rare and exclusive sets.. the rarer, the more desirable it will become.2 points

Yes it was. I replied within 15 minutes of the ad being posted and luckily I was the first one. Drove out 20 minutes and grabbed it immediately before the seller could rethink it. When I got there he said after I called there were another 3-4 people right after me. Lucky!2 points

I'd keep calling back. I've had to call 8x before about a return they received AND rebilled me for. Don't quit.1 point

Also, HK, you might be surprised at what happens in the next year or two if you stick with this hobby. I couldn't have imagined having all 9 modulars but here I am with them.1 point

Maybe since they'll be busier they might have less time to damage the packages.1 point

Sold my last set of LOTR keychains for $14. Not a money maker by any means, but I turned that inventory over to my 6 year old, so she's happy to have it sell.1 point

I've weighed all of mine new and old and they are on my scale if I remember right 5 lb 11 oz or 5 lb 10.8 oz including one that is over a year old. I think the bag #7 problem is blown out of proportion. That's my personal opinion though. I think newbie77 reported on here it was missing bag 7. Then one other person on brick set said two sets they bought were missing bag 7. That is it. No more from what I can find on google. Until I see lots more complaints I find it hard to believe their is tons of missing bag 7's out there. http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/17340/r2-d2-10225-has-missing-bags#latest1 point

And we still don't believe the production problem has anything to do with the missing bag #7?1 point

For sets where just the figs are missing it might be interesting to have the original bags if they are numbered, and the set is bigger. It can make the build quite a bit easier to not have everything effectively in one, large pile.1 point

I have respect for the people who enforce the law and/or defend our country each day. It's only the ones who abuse such powers for themselves or treat the citizens they are supposed to be protecting like the criminal element that deserve any flack.1 point

There is an education system outside of the US you know...... and for those that didn't use it there's always Boardwalk Empire1 point

Seeing as how the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? Because if leaks to the VC he could wind up MIA and then we'll all get put on KP.1 point

Maybe. Most Lego image leaks seem to originate in Europe. I think Lego is completely insane to be locating any manufacturing in a country that rips off intellectual property with impunity.1 point

Sell it and buy a quality used one to build. The set is easily worth 2500 EURO. If it is a First Edition, even more than that. You can easily clear 1000 EURO after taxes and commissions IMO. It is found money. I have a few myself, but I am holding onto mine. It's a personal choice, but maybe not a wise one.1 point

The Cargo Truck is a remake of this set: http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=7733-1 Considering that this one is worth over $100 dollars right now, the Cargo Truck is definitely a sturdy investment. Thunder Wings is a small Creator airplane, and there has been a similar one like this in the past: http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=4953-1 Thunder Wings and Fast Flyers both have the same retail price, and Fast Flyers has a value of ~$60 dollars. They are both good investments. I do not think that either of them will fail.1 point
