There are still plenty to be gotten if you are willing to drive (and are fortunate enough to live close to a bm store). My haul from yesterday.6 points

Looks really cool and actually works! It accelerates a Lego soccer ball to 12.5 KPH. Nerd Approved Ideas3 points

Am I the only one that finds it funny when grown men ask each other if they should build a Lego set or not. I do not know what ur enjoyment level is with building a set. Me personally... It's work. You would have to pay me to build a lego set. It's work x amount. Is that amount worth it to u to build and have one of ur own.... No one here can advise. Would u rather have 300 bucks or a town hall. Simple as that dude.3 points

GE: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" TH: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" HH: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" R2: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" Maybe we like repetition after all...3 points

Lowest eBay BIN is already up to $235 qty 1 and next is $250 qty 3. Amazon lowest is $257.50. This is the droid you are looking for.3 points

I studied it for 2 years. Insanely difficult to learn. Hard to retain too unless you can use it every day. Try looking on youtube for a video so you can hear it. Be careful too, the same phrase can have different meanings depending on context. There are also different hierarchies dependent on the age of the speaker. You would not greet a 20 year old like you would a 60 year old.2 points

The loss is not that big. He only loses Sealed-used difference which is not that critical down the road.2 points

Wait, I lost track.. Is he practicing to become head of shipping for Target/Walmart/Amazon/TRU?? So confused....2 points

Well, when the 4th arrives, without opening the package, give it a big shake. Stomp on it. Stand on it a little. Then open the box and look inside. Enjoy.2 points

Sales really picking up in November, already more this month so far than Sep/Oct combined. Have sold 4 Helm's Deep this week @ $170, a $60 Orc Forge, as well as some cheaper battle packs. Need to keep it up for all the spending that's been going on, UPS dropped off more boxes today.2 points

Bought a couple more sets of Mixels series 2 at TRU using the 10% off and Batwing promo. I think I'm going to list my sets this week at a high price and wait for eBay to catch up as we get close to Christmas.2 points

Cool. Yeah, I suppose I may have to start clearing some stock next year too. It's starting to feel like living in a warehouse round here.2 points

And then Disney would eventually just own everything. World domination is what they are going for.2 points

it appears you mention something negative about this set in nearly every other post you type (in this thread). i think it's safe to mention that pretty much everyone (reading this thread) knows you have issues with 10225.2 points

The LOTR Pirate ship is not nearly as impressive as the POTC ship. For that reason, I think it lags well behind.2 points

horderve? oooo, my aching french. Hors D'oeuvres. So I've only got one extra R2 in my pile that I got a while back in the US... just too many other deals to take advantage of lately and not enough $. TRU in Canada still has them in stock, but it's $229.99 + 13% tax for me = 259.89 (about $230 US). I just can't seem to pull the trigger at that price... Would anyone here? It has to pass $260 US not including shipping to bring that into the black.2 points

You will need to provide a little bit more information on your source if you want to be taken seriously.2 points

Unlike R2, DS works great as a cat tree if you clear out the internal features and minifigs (although my cats enjoy hiding those in out of the way places). I'm assuming this use has some effect on the resale value, but shouldn't be too bad.2 points

Try to find one at MSRP and build that one. If you can find any, pick the TH that is in the worst condition and build that one.1 point

For long term, I think both should be available for quite a while. But for Christmas, I think the Arctic Base would be a better bet. It reminds me of "The Mine" from 2 years ago. I wasn't a brickvestor then, just a dad trying to get his 4-year-old the only thing he really he wanted for Christmas. I waited around looking for a better discount... I was lucky to get one at regular retail about mid-November, because that's when they all disappeared. They were selling for 50% - 90% over retail in December. I just don't see kids getting THAT excited about the Bike Shop. Even if it did sell out in November, I don't think it would have the same upside as the Arctic set.1 point

Hasbro have an uphill challenge ahead of them. IMO they need a game changer, a generation one transformers, a He-Man, a GI Joe, something new that sets the world on fire. It's been getting on 30 years now since G1 Transformers, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, He-Man, Thundercats etc burst onto the scene. Toy companies have been rehashing themes for far too long, we need something new and exciting. Until that happens I really can't see Hasbro knocking Lego off top spot1 point

My TRU is down to one Batcave and it will probably be gone when I visit there today. I think the Target blowout will be the Batcave's last hurrah.1 point

Yes for the Imperial Shuttle. Despite being a fantastic looking space ship from the SW movies. One of the best designs in fact, the lack of popularity is probably what slows down the appreciation of the set. It is also an amazing display and very well designed set, I am re-building mine as it sat in the box for more than a year and I missed it a lot... r2d2 on the otherh and is quite popular so I wouldn't think it will suffer much from that... Same with my girlfriend and sister too. They both want one each, trouble is ....from my r2d2 inventory!1 point

Though I hate returns at stores because one made a bad decision on an investment I strongly support sending oysters back when not packaged properly. Only way they learn. Though i love oysters and are a great for of iron and a test booster packages was the correct word. Worst typo ever.1 point

worst case scenario: you'll end up with an army of R2D2 which also might be pretty cool... just imagine how you can replace all your furniture by LEGO R2D2! Table? putting a plate on 4 LEGO R2D2! chair... same decoration infront of your house? R2D2! (like those two lions infront of chinese restaurants) it will be hilarious! :-) so this is a win-win-win situation1 point

Here here. Thank you Ed and Jeff for starting this great site. My instincts have been good on what to buy, this site helps focus them a bit more. My missed chances column might have been shorter had I become a member sooner. Thanks to all who contribute. My game has been raised because of all the great information available. BTW, my new son 9 weeks old yesterday has certainly changed my equation. New variables, new responsibilities, but I wouldn't change a thing. My heart melt everytime he smiles. After wanting a son for more than a decade, he found us in early Feb. I am thrilled I finally get to share my passion of Lego with a boy of my own. My 10 yr old nephew may not be as happy since my focus will shift a bit. BTW my nephew (patting myself on the back) now wants to be an engineer after receiving a 8043 Excavator at the age of 9. He never completed the build, but it sparked some magical creativity. This past holiday season he asked his parents what and where the best engineering school was. His Dad in turn bought him an EV3 on serious discount at B&******. Discount also courtesy of me. Smart little boy. Scott - Brickelements1 point
