  3. 4. Awards Labels are mostly given on november and december, no ? Who knows, maybe you should try to explain that your life as a reseller would be better if they confirm it's retired. Lego can't stop to argue that they are very nice people.

  5. My bad. Somehow my search pulled out those big Technic sets as well. Here is a graph of the current vintage of exclusives.

  6. Right here: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/10400-assumed-date-codes-for-production-runs/page-27#entry347889 If I cared to speculate (and I do), I would predict 13-14 major sets are going away (or are already gone except for vapors): TH, GE. HH. SC, KJ, R2, HE, SOH, WVM, ToO, R5, EEE, AA, and maybe it is finally time for good old DS. Ones that I don't think are going away (that others have speculated will) are: TB, PS, 4x4, T1 Just IMHO, YMMV, etc, etc. P.S. - 60% of the time I think I'm 100% correct, or 100% of the time 60% correct, or I can't fool all of the people some of the time, or something like that.

  8. Hmm, so, at least, Ed did not invoke Newton's flaming laser sword, which is good I guess. In its weakest form it says that we should not dispute propositions unless they can be shown by precise logic and/or mathematics to have observable consequences. In its strongest form it demands a list of observable consequences and a formal demonstration that they are indeed consequences of the proposition claimed

  13. Dear Lego friends, For all you Dutch investors (perhaps also other countries with Dutch contacts): Intertoys.nl will have upcoming sunday 2th of November a 15% discount on their entire webshop collection. It is from a highly trusted source. This means TH's for 153 euro and GE for 135 euro. There are now more than hundred in stock, let's buy this **** saturday night before the 'normal' people can buy one, so we can sell it with big profits later on to them :-p Good luck! I will also make a specific topic in the 'european deals' area of this forum.

  14. This past Febuary, I found a lone 10212 Imperial Shuttle sitting on a shelf in TRU. When I asked an employee about it, he said they had just found it in the back room.

  15. That's because 70% have limited to none of the TH in hand at the moment. Myself included.
    2 points
  16. I'm reassured that 70% of brickpickers still say TH will be out at least until 2015. For Lego to retire it before that would be downright undemocratic!

  17. I've been attending the BrickCon Public Expo in Seattle for years, but had never displayed my models before or participated in the longer 4-day Private Convention. I just completed an in-depth write-up that goes "behind the scenes" at one of the largest and oldest LEGO conventions for AFOL's. Some of my highlights: Seeing large LEGO models get re-assembled was really interesting. I loved playing the LEGO games like the "Blind Build" shown here. Displaying my models for the first time to the Public was really cool. As always, there were impressive new models on display at the Public Exhibition. LINK TO LONGER ARTICLE AND MORE PHOTOS: http://tomalphin.com/2014/10/brickcon_2014_behind_the_scenes.html I hope you find this behind the scenes look at BrickCon to be interesting. If you got to attend too, what was your highlight from the show? Sincerely, ---tom

  20. they marked those trains when they were already sold out I believe. I think they did it to prevent confusion with the newer trains, so that customers knew which ones are current.

  23. Looks like there are two listing for this on AZ. One is price you mention and other is $23.99 direct from AZ. Not saying it isn't gone (since I don't follow these) but seems to be avail everywhere.

  25. The point wasn't the golden tickets, it's that Lego may no longer sell exclusives through Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc. When Ed Mack talks about chaos and big changes and warns us to be prepared, I don't think he's referring to Kingdom Joust retiring.

  26. As a new poster McLovin may be on to something. Not the golden tickets but Shipped & Sold by Lego Only. NMM keeps talking about how he is interested in the renewal of the Exclusives pricing policy in January 2015 so that nothing goes below MSRP. What if that ties to those products and Lego would decide not to renew the agreements specifically in the US where they have a great distribution channel of their own as opposed to some other countries. What if Lego sells all exclusives direct only. That would solve NMM's problem and that would be the Chaos that Ed the Chaos Bringer is discussing. That would make the value of the Town Hall and many other sets as far as us owning them rise significantly over time as the aftermarket resellers have lost their easy sources for more exclusives. Ed is watching and waiting for the other shoe to drop and I have a feeling we will see it drop before Christmas. OK I am probably wrong again but that is another track it could follow.

  32. Well I sold 4 bricktober sets I had posted for $115 each that cost me $64 each in under 24 hours. The other 4 I will keep longer but a little concerned I did not want to be stuck with these things when the market gets flooded if it does. Long term they may be worth a good amount hence keeping some but TH, AA and R2 will perform much better for my $ in my opinion.

  34. I think there are plenty of people who are complaining about not getting HHs that already have 4-8 of them, but rather have 14-18, given how fat this gravy train is assumed to become.

  40. Haha, before reading a single word past the title, I was thinking buy both. To me it depends on whether you're a minifig collector as well. If you love those little plastic figures, go for the 10188. So many cool scenes you can make with the figures. If you're not partial to the minifigs, I suggest you check out a fellow BP'ers thread about 10143. It's a very cool set and is generally considered a better display set. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/11670-bricklinking-the-10143-death-star-ii/?hl=10143
