Hello fellow BrickPickers... Starting October 1, 2014, BrickPicker will be starting a BrickPicker Blog Group. In the past, we utilized blog contests to acquire new content. We would like to improve on that method and actually pay experienced and knowledgeable BrickPicker members to write new content for the site. The content will be similar to older blog articles and reviews, with a heavy emphasis on LEGO investing...but any quality LEGO topic can qualify. Qualified members will earn a $5 Gift Card to Amazon, LEGO S@H, etc... for every 1000 words/5000 characters in the content that is submitted and approved by Jeff and myself. There is a new application in the Wordpress blog editor that tracks this and the "readability" of the blog. It is one method that I will use to differentiate quality writing from poor writing and helps take photos and images out of the equation as well. I will talk more about this to approved blog writers. How does one become an approved blog writer? Several ways. Mods will have access to the group and will be able to post new content. Previous blog contest winners/runner ups are automatically qualified to be a blog writer. Jeff and I will invite some people who we think would be qualified to write content(if they are interested in doing so). Also, members can either produce content or show me previous work that indicates high literary ability. Approval is not guaranteed, but we will be honest and fair with any member that is interested in joining the group. We are trying to up the content bar. Jeff is working on a new homepage that will have a more interactive blog section to it. Some blog writers will have the ability to produce daily updates/content on the homepage that be front and center on the homepage. We want to produce "new" content, not just post links from other sites...and are willing to pay for it. If you are interested in joining this group and believe you are qualified, let me or Jeff know by PM. We will be sending out some invites to people over the next week or so. If you want to start writing, you can begin in the Wordpress blog editor. Please ask Jeff or I to enable your access to the Wordpress editor. There will be a private forum for blog writers and I will go over the new editor app and readability indexes with members. Also, Jeff will come up with a basic tracking system for blog writers that shows what they have produced and how much they earned. Any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks...

You know, I feel like I am in the minority here, but there's nothing on ShopLego that I feel I need to go crazy on. 2x VIP and the Holiday Set, I'll probably just get a Santa's Workshop and a couple filler items, but most anything else I think can wait until the Nov holiday set #2. None of the current exclusives are screaming retirement at me. Winter Village Market may be the only get. but people are very lukewarm on that set in general.

I placed one order. Four bike shops, four cantinas, and six Death Star troopers. Received five emails stating that all items have shipped. No request for additional shipping charges. No cancellations. No phone calls. Now to wait and see what shows up and in what condition. Fingers crossed.

I picked up my order this morning.... And this is what he brought me: If it wasn't for the fact he packed it himself (told me he pulled almost all of them from the shelf for two orders) I'd have thought TRU pulled a Kmart on me. But this is what I got... Seal code is 33R4 which according to this http://www.epochconverter.com/date-and-time/weeknumbers-by-year.php is middle of August (11-17). No new run... they must have found some old stock. I asked him if they had anymore and he said he pulled half for my order, and almost all the rest for another and the cashier who knows me too well said that one was bought this morning.

I remember when money orders and cashiers checks were the only way to pay!

Before it's shown on TV this Fri or Sat (Disney Channel), it's available now on the Apple TV and prob other devices via the Disney app. I'm watching it now with my son. Note : future episodes on TV will be shown on Disney . I assume they wanted the first show to be on the main channel.

That's too bad. But at least you made the Death Star II It does seem a bit fragile on its stands. I think it could look great in a very big office, perhaps with some led lighting around the deflector area. I do hope you get more out of it then just your money back with all the effort you put into it.

SJ, CA store had 4 Tumblers in stock this morning. Got there 5min before opening and there were four guys already in line. By the time store opened there were eight guys in line. Turns out half the people were there for the Series 12 CMF. I got my tumbler w/ the promo and 2x VIP. Last guy in line missed out. Clerk said don't worry, they'll get lots more in. Thinking this won't be as limited as everyone thinks.

I think it is heading towards EOL land based on multiple comments BUT that is purely highly unwarranted speculation. Of course where mscheaf and I have the fork discussion going on the haunted house, I won't stick a fork in this one. VBG

Perhaps TLG had already promised some stock to retailers (or it was already moving through the supply chain) and they got more 'backorders' than they anticipated. They clearly couldn't fill everyone's order, which I would think they wouldn't do if they were planning to have supply in a matter of weeks. Those cancellations and the possibility of stock popping up elsewhere might indicate the run (whatever its size) was already divvied up and heading to fill B&M orders.

10k haha yeah right they would have stock left over for months. They mite have fired up another run but doubt it would be much if even close to 1k. Specualation it xould or may or may not mite come back will comd back in full force for Halloween as if I were running Lego and know every which way they conduct business. This thread is becoming frightening to read. If you missed out move on there was two years. Dont wait to buy

I think Lego has a surprise for everybody who thought it went EOL. I have a feeling that it will indeed come back one more time in the US with Halloween. One last big bang and a big profit for Lego. In my opinion that would be very logical, Lego knows there's a tremendous demand for this set, so why don't they do another big final run? They will sell probably everything within a few days and everybody is happy. Furthermore I noticed that a large retailer here in Holland will get it back in stock. They are only natural traits and are not exclusive. I feel, be it male or female, that a equal balance of those traits is a good thing. It leads to a well rounded individual. I too describe myself as sensitive and god knows I love to dress up in suits and match colors on my accessories but on the other side of things I am possessive, protecting, providing, and can anger easily. It is the balance of masculine and feminine traits that makes us who we are. When one leans completely one way or the other is the problem.

I see that people got me wrong. To put it short (it is difficult to put that short so if anybody wants to discuss this matter feel free to PM me): I am against discrimating people because I grew up believing in equality. I am okay with fighting for the rights of people who are oppressed and mistreated. What I am against is discriminating other people to do so, not caring about their needs etc. To me we should not talk about men and women but about people. I've been to Africa and Japan and other countries and I am not okay with what most women there are treated only because they are women (Japan is at a turning point though). And if I do have the feeling that men are being mistreated only because they are men, then it is my right and duty to criticize this (and any movement that is supporting the idea that they should be mistreated). Feminism is about women and women alone, that's the hole problem about the concept from the start. I know where it is coming from but I don't agree with where it went. Nowadays an equality-movement would be more in place. Okay I hope that puts it clear and short. If you cannot accept that I am against a movement that is willing to discriminate other people because of certain traits then don't. If you want to discuss this matter then PM me. When it comes to criticize others because they don't think the same way that you do then it gets difficult in this world. And I think a lot of people feel lost amongst all this polictical correctness. I know it is a strong thing in the U.S. and there might be cultural differences when it comes to it. But the main reason I started this topic was to discuss if there really is a need for LEGO to change their policies when it comes to gender-equality. I don't like the way the poster adresses LEGO and criticizes like everything. To me it felt like "You should produce more LEGO for girls! ... Oh wait you did that... but I don't like how you made it all pink and purple and "girlish" forcing girls into a stereotype!... you say there is other LEGO that is pretty neutral? I don't like that most of the characters are not female and the point that minifigures and bodyparts are widely interchangeable does not appease me!" I don't have the feeling that LEGO is missing anything (or at least I didn't) but spanky for example pointed out to me that his daughters are missing something. My little sister never gave the impression that something was amiss. And she also enjoys playing wih knights. There are bigger epic battles than most boys will ever imagine and at the end you still can see how darth vader is drinking tea with luke and leia. She also likes to include her Friends theme a lot. I mean where is a better place to have ice cream???!!! ;-) She really likes the colors and obviously a lot of other girls also like them. There is nothing wrong with it if you ask me. So now I see the need of some more female characters and themes where I did not see it before. I think when it comes to LEGO they are doing a pretty good job though. Next year we get the new Elves theme and besides all my hopes for it to be a cool LOTR-like theme... it is a Friends-like theme. But I know for sure that my little sister already is pretty excited about it and I will have to strongly abuse my LEGO-VIP-card to get her some when it finally finds its way into the stores. BTW: You know this Boba Fett minifig? Or the headhunter princess Leia? So Leia can still be Leia, but Boba Fett became Mona Fett (for some reason ^.^) and those two female head hunters fight against sea monsters and the evil sorceress to rescue their friends! It's pretty cool when you watch her haha. Did you know that you can exchange the hair of the Friends theme with the other themes? You might have known but I learned that thanks to my sis. (Though I do not like Vaders new hair...). I'm not a big fan of "natural female/male traits" and I do not believe that much in them. (@ivncevaughn: Sounds like a description of me "sensitivity, caring, support, motherly tendencies, social grace, modesty, etc." you only need to add the beard and the manly muscles ***** I guess in a lot of ways I'm more "female traited" than my girlfriend ;-) But in the LEGO store she still was most excited about not the VW bus or the EWOK village... but those Disney Princess sets (and here it was Ariel with Fabius she really liked). The GF of her brother loves EWOKs because they are so cuuuute ^.^

I added 4 more over the weekend just gone and 3 of them have seal code 29S4, and another one has 15S4. The 4 were bought from 3 different shops (2+1+1).

I don't know how often this happens but at this past weekends lego club event my son got a goodie bag with a 10% any lego city set in store only. Considering that this could be applied to a cargo train (provided it's in stock at your store) its pretty valuable and covers the $20 registration fee for the club meet. So in any event if you've got kids or know people who won't be using these coupons look out for them. The one I have is good until 10/31 and if it looks like I wont be using it, I'll post it up here.

my 3 year old got hold of my 10212 and managed to obliterate the front part (cockpit and nose). putting that back together wasn't that big of a deal until I discovered that the storm trooper's gun was missing. He had somehow managed to hide it behind the cockpit in the Advanced Tie set. While trying to extract it the entire half of that set collapsed, that darn thing is more fragile than glass. 3 hours wasted. smh

BTW it's very, very simple to see if this house is seeked after or not. Just check the european ebay and see the "sold items": nearly all sets at MSRP have been sold. That's enough to convince me.
