Selling isn't for everyone. Most transactions most of the time go fine. Some do not, and you do have to be prepared to take some losses. It doesn't matter where you sell. If you sell most places online (and certainly Amazon, eBay, and anywhere you take PayPal), you're subject to their buyer protection policies which mean that you take returns and all those risks. If you sell in your own brick and mortar stores, you have shoplifters and kid damage and credit card chargebacks. If you sell on Craigslist you risk mugging and wasting a lot of time. If you sell only online through obscure venues accepting only postal money orders, you risk not selling much. Like the news, the information you get here is skewed: generally, if it bleeds it leads so if someone has a bad situation, it gets posted here. The majority, the good or uneventful ones, don't.4 points

I would print my own little stickers. Like: 100% pure columbian cocaine. Or: Definately not humans inside.2 points

My wife couldn't keep a straight face when I acted dumb over the popularity of this set. I was constantly saying. "WOW. thst is amazing. I had no idea". ????2 points

This feels like a harsh comment for a moderator to make on this forum. Certainly to Neosphinx who has been an active contributor to the content on the forums in a constructive manner. Looking to reduce your crowd?2 points

About displaying this set, you can remove a wing so it takes less room on a shelf. And about investing, I think it will be still there up to december '16, as usual (2 years on LEGO Shop at Home for technic sets). Maybe up to summer '16 if it's a huge success and not produced anymore. Will it be a winner ? Yes, like most of technics sets that are $120 and more ($120/130 models and $179/199 models). Because of the color scheme, power functions included, big in size, great b-model (one of the best b-model ever), etc. But I would wait for a discount, plenty of time to get this baby. Note that I were wrong for the price on my previous post, 3 months ago: it's finally $139 when I thought $129... lego has increased their price... (but I guessed right for the 42024 ^^ )2 points

You guys are so heartless. To give chima fire bikes to orphans, sick childs, etc. ? Don't you think they suffer enough ? And about US cancels, that's because these sets are on boat to europe, he he...2 points

My exact experience yesterday. They even brought a built one out of the back to "sell me" on buying it for my son. I acted like I was on the phone with my wife. I then just had to buy two because my nephew has to have whatever my son gets.1 point

Lot of hurt feelings today......his opinions are fine and I have no issues with opinions but obviously his "opinions" are not worded as such. Why don't some of you go back and read some of his posts. I highly doubt any of you read every single post posted day in and day out as do the moderators. And also I'm not here to gain fans, post the same info over and over or post pictures of my huge stashes, I'm here to moderate the forums. Thanks.1 point

I also think this is rather rude. Since when somebody's opinion on a lego set regardless of being right or wrong should be charged? If that's the case you can ban all members who happily share their precious knowledge & opinions here and you can have the forum for moderators only, where everyobe agrees on a single idea you happen to entertain. Just from wikipedia: fo1 point

There are no regular coupons active at the moment. They "only" come about every 3-4 weeks, for a couple of days. There is 20% off with membership though this weekend. Not as good as the regular coupons though, but it depends on what and how much you buy.1 point

I feel the same way when someone uses the word "rare". I usually ask, "great, you have confirmed production numbers. How many exactly were made.... And what is rare?" About that time when I get blocked.1 point

Although banned by the wife, I could not pass up on these deals. My wife will kill me. But better be killed for buying lego than for something else. Ha! - 70010 Chima Lion Chi Temple (MISB) 80 euro - 2507 Ninjago Fire Temple (NISB) 88 euro - 2 x 76011 Super Heroes Batman Man-Bat Attack (MISB) 16 euro each - 76018 Super Heroes Hulk Lab Smash (MISB) 40 euro They had 1 Lion Chi left for that price so I will grab it too in a few minutes when I go back. Doubting about: They also had 2 Benny's Spaceship (MISB) for 68 euro each. Should I grab those as well? One 31012 Creator Family House (MISB) for 44 euro and one 75021 Republic Gunship (NISB) for 88 euro.1 point

The HH will not survive to the double VIP points. I would say December '14 for the GE and Autumn '15 for the PS. No clue about the other sets. And of course, you have to buy tons of TB for the obvious reason that you're in the UK. As for me, I have z-e-r-o of this one and will never get any, except if I can have some with 50% off and then resell it to UK buyers. (but certainly that will never happen)1 point

Just got off the phone with LEGO Shop at Home... Asked about GE. They placed an order for two for me and said there is a 50/50 chance the order will go through- she stated 1,240 in stock but they are not sure if all of those units are already on back order. Thus, they allowed me to make the order, on the chance that they will have a remainder between inventory and backlog fulfillment. Very interesting. I will post as to how it plays out.1 point

no. but the opposite of that is true - the Red 5 UCS x-wing will put a ceiling on the little x-wing's value while the Red 5 is available at retailers - why would anyone pay $100 or $150 for the little x-wing after it retires when for a little bit more you get the UCS version.1 point

I asked on the phone (when they called me) if I could get more than one, they said not a problem. Only thing I couldn't do was have them put any aside for me, as they had a huge list of people on their list to call. Needless to say, I was at the shop within the hour. Picked up 3, no problems at all. Tempted to go back tomorrow and see if they still have any out on display. By the way, label code is 37S4. The first ones I got, when they initially came out, were label code 20S4. Slightly OT but the (very helpful) also mentioned that the Tumbler wouldn't be back in stores until late October, Lego totally taken by surprise by it's popularity despite the cost!) (Incidentally, sorry for the double post above...posted from mobile phone in the middle of nowhere using train company's wifi...guess I'm lucky it posted at all!)1 point

Sold a complete set of Mixels series 1 for $95. Picked them up for $45 in store last Friday.1 point

If I was buying to build, and listing said "opened to verify content", and there was a picture of all the bags and parts, I would actually feel more comfortable when buying at over MSRP. But that's just me1 point
