Selling isn't for everyone. Most transactions most of the time go fine. Some do not, and you do have to be prepared to take some losses. It doesn't matter where you sell. If you sell most places online (and certainly Amazon, eBay, and anywhere you take PayPal), you're subject to their buyer protection policies which mean that you take returns and all those risks. If you sell in your own brick and mortar stores, you have shoplifters and kid damage and credit card chargebacks. If you sell on Craigslist you risk mugging and wasting a lot of time. If you sell only online through obscure venues accepting only postal money orders, you risk not selling much. Like the news, the information you get here is skewed: generally, if it bleeds it leads so if someone has a bad situation, it gets posted here. The majority, the good or uneventful ones, don't.4 points

Anyone else think the Town Hall would make a good Hill Valley clock tower to go with a Delorean? WIth a little work obviously.2 points

I would print my own little stickers. Like: 100% pure columbian cocaine. Or: Definately not humans inside.2 points

My wife couldn't keep a straight face when I acted dumb over the popularity of this set. I was constantly saying. "WOW. thst is amazing. I had no idea". ????2 points

This feels like a harsh comment for a moderator to make on this forum. Certainly to Neosphinx who has been an active contributor to the content on the forums in a constructive manner. Looking to reduce your crowd?2 points

About displaying this set, you can remove a wing so it takes less room on a shelf. And about investing, I think it will be still there up to december '16, as usual (2 years on LEGO Shop at Home for technic sets). Maybe up to summer '16 if it's a huge success and not produced anymore. Will it be a winner ? Yes, like most of technics sets that are $120 and more ($120/130 models and $179/199 models). Because of the color scheme, power functions included, big in size, great b-model (one of the best b-model ever), etc. But I would wait for a discount, plenty of time to get this baby. Note that I were wrong for the price on my previous post, 3 months ago: it's finally $139 when I thought $129... lego has increased their price... (but I guessed right for the 42024 ^^ )2 points

You guys are so heartless. To give chima fire bikes to orphans, sick childs, etc. ? Don't you think they suffer enough ? And about US cancels, that's because these sets are on boat to europe, he he...2 points

Lot of hurt feelings today......his opinions are fine and I have no issues with opinions but obviously his "opinions" are not worded as such. Why don't some of you go back and read some of his posts. I highly doubt any of you read every single post posted day in and day out as do the moderators. And also I'm not here to gain fans, post the same info over and over or post pictures of my huge stashes, I'm here to moderate the forums. Thanks.1 point

I also think this is rather rude. Since when somebody's opinion on a lego set regardless of being right or wrong should be charged? If that's the case you can ban all members who happily share their precious knowledge & opinions here and you can have the forum for moderators only, where everyobe agrees on a single idea you happen to entertain. Just from wikipedia: fo1 point

My HH from Sept 8 just shipped! It's my first and only one, and I plan to build it. So happy. :-)1 point

It's also called the "alternative model". Technics sets are "two in one" (like creators sets -except the creator expert- are "three in one"). You have to download the instructions, unfortunately, because lego is too greedy to give you those. The b-model for the cargo is an hovercraft:1 point

Thankfully was able to order one from LEGO Shop at Home this morning, decided it was not worth risking waiting until x2 VIP.1 point

With 3 for 2 here in the UK i brought home two X-Wings at retail price and this Cargo Plane came as a bonus So practically1 point

Stop crying about the new run. Of course its a new run. the initial run was depleted on day 1. backorders will be fulfilled, leftovers will go to the stores. this is nothing unexpected. better buy what you can, because its your last chance. Edit: i do hope prices online drop to $30s so i can buy them all.1 point

The owners of this board will be launching Brick Classifieds before too long and from what I have read they will also be offering authorize.net in addition to Paypal. Hopefully they will expand that to Stripe and Amazon Payments in the future. IMO the days of just listing your item on ebay and letting them bring traffic are coming to an end. Selling successfully in the future is going to require more hustle. I am hoping Alibaba opens a P2P platform and offers no fees for a few years like they did in China. They would get insane numbers.1 point

Great, the Lion Chi Temple will do very well on Xmas but you can resell it 139e right now to calm down your wife ! About the 3 other sets, respectively: 68e is awsesome! great 44e is ok 88e is ok FYI my best deals for these sets are: 88e (not a real deal, I just wanted some RIGHT NOW at that moment. Note that many people were able to get some at 68e shipping incl. on amazon.co.uk) 42e 80e If I were you I would take 2 or 3 of each set. (let's say 3 spaceship + 2 houses + 3 republic ***.)1 point

The HH will not survive to the double VIP points. I would say December '14 for the GE and Autumn '15 for the PS. No clue about the other sets. And of course, you have to buy tons of TB for the obvious reason that you're in the UK. As for me, I have z-e-r-o of this one and will never get any, except if I can have some with 50% off and then resell it to UK buyers. (but certainly that will never happen)1 point

How does that old song go? I get by with a little help from my friends...1 point

If you have a local children's hospital take them there. I donated many Chima starter speedor sets last year to one in my area. Sick children make me sad :(1 point

I stand by saying it is one to watch. Hoard it now? No. Consider it's position and potential, and work it into your future investment strategy? Absolutely.1 point

no. but the opposite of that is true - the Red 5 UCS x-wing will put a ceiling on the little x-wing's value while the Red 5 is available at retailers - why would anyone pay $100 or $150 for the little x-wing after it retires when for a little bit more you get the UCS version.1 point

I have a friend of a friend who has a lego account. So I will order 1 or 2 in October and the friend of a friend too. So I will have 5 already.1 point

Why do people think ri will go down. Even if there is a small number in every lego store. Not everyone will go to lego store to get one and probably still limit of one. Then done1 point

The train did not last, the last ship did not last, this will not last. Lego would not admit a mistake and reissue this with printed rather than stickers. A fork is stuck in this set, it just needs a carving knife. I am loading up on 10/1.1 point

I asked on the phone (when they called me) if I could get more than one, they said not a problem. Only thing I couldn't do was have them put any aside for me, as they had a huge list of people on their list to call. Needless to say, I was at the shop within the hour. Picked up 3, no problems at all. Tempted to go back tomorrow and see if they still have any out on display. By the way, label code is 37S4. The first ones I got, when they initially came out, were label code 20S4. Slightly OT but the (very helpful) also mentioned that the Tumbler wouldn't be back in stores until late October, Lego totally taken by surprise by it's popularity despite the cost!) (Incidentally, sorry for the double post above...posted from mobile phone in the middle of nowhere using train company's wifi...guess I'm lucky it posted at all!)1 point

If I was buying to build, and listing said "opened to verify content", and there was a picture of all the bags and parts, I would actually feel more comfortable when buying at over MSRP. But that's just me1 point

Rumor I heard was that they had to clear the production lines to produce more Deloreans because of recent surge in sales.1 point
