Most Star Wars ships aren't going to win beauty contests, but that's what's great about them. They are utilitarian, dirty, bulky. I think that's why I like most OT ships better than PT ships, the PT ships are way too clean and sleek looking. Look at the MF, Lucas said that he came up with the design at lunch where his olive was stuck in the side of a hamburger bun with a toothpick. And that turned out to the be most iconic ship in Star Wars Now that I've seen this I might sell off my used 8097 while the gettings good and put that money into the UCS version.5 points

Bought this beauty for $300 this weekend on CL, complete with minifigs and instructions5 points

It has been revealed! and boy is it gorgeous! More info and fotos at: http://brickset.com/article/12209 Set will most likely be a $250 set, hope it will have a big box. I like big boxes. What do you guys think of the set? Time to unload 8097 to start with4 points

Sounds like my first car. It's a tank made from scrap driven by midgets vertically challenged individuals who like scrap that use it to search for even more scrap.3 points

Section C., paragraph 2 of the Lego Retirement Code states: "No more than 1 (one) modular set may be retired in any calendar year." So the Pet Shop will definitely survive into 2015.3 points

I'm confident it will be quite a large set and I'm confident in the 7965 retiring.2 points

Yeah, something sounds real fishy. I have never heard anyone getting banned because of stock photos. Maybe you should have been trying to sell counterfeit legos. That seems to be acceptable.2 points

My wife knew I was stashing Lego, but I don't think she realized the full extent until the last couple of weeks when we had to move my entire stash out of the basement due to flooding. My Lego is stored in my workshop too, and she just never goes in there to see. Moving 200+ Lego sets is an eye opening experience lol. I promised her I'd sell some during the xmas season this year.2 points

Just put all of those sets in a box and tape / seal it tight. Write on the box: Open in August, 2019 Note: this method may be very cruel for your children, as LEGO should be primarily used for building. :)2 points

At first, when I read the topic title, I thought it was about hiding lego for the wife or IRS.2 points

http://www.a-tembo.nl/lego-nieuws/111-star-wars-maand-met-20-korting-en-gratis-set-30244.html 20% off on SW (SSD at nice price) + a free polybag if you buy over 601 point

Right. In the "old days" of LEGO investing, the price you bought an item for was that key factor because every set was discounted at some point. Now, with fewer deals on the top sets, just buy the damn sets. LOL. Too many people wait for sales that will never come, then can't buy them with EOL knocking on the door because they are scarce or sold out.1 point

I bought in at $150, missed the $99 sale but picked a few up via bricklink. I built one, stashed the others. I will sell once it hits $300, which I'm confident it will hit eventually. Even though the B-Wing doesn't get much love, UCS collectors will need it in their collection.1 point

I have bought 2 in the last month. One from bricklink for $95 shipped and one from Ebay for like $106 shipped.1 point

Good thing about the B-Wing UCS is there will probably never be another UCS version1 point

Talking about inequality, here's my idea for set 21111: Backflipping Athletes, with 3 male flippers. One of them represents impatient Brickpickers here, wearing Exo suit (or holding a 21109 box, to keep cost down)1 point

Here is a link to their status board: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml Doesn't say much, but they are working on it1 point

so $205? maybe i should get rid of my complete, adult owned, displayed for 1 day on may the 4th, no stickers applied, damaged box = extra VIPs (thanks LEGO), set #11? nah, its only going up in value amazingly its a very light set for a UCS and the size of the box.1 point

I managed to pick one of these up for $5 over msrp shipped. It should be here tomorrow. I feel lucky.1 point

I'm thinking a new UCS MF will have playability as well and not be just a model. Maybe more Death Star like.1 point

Rumors have it that there will be a new UCS MF.. You still need a playset. It should still do reasonably well.1 point

The latter statement is false. While it is true that A-Tembo is 10-15% cheaper through the year, they have now increased the price they give the 20% on. For example the Super Star Destroyer: Normal price at A-Tembo was1 point

@GhostDad I just don't see Town hall going to 2016. I'm betting two new modulars in 2015. One at the beginning one at the end1 point

Hiding Lego? I am not hiding anything, except from the sun of course. It's not my fault that humans cannot see all that well in dark places. )1 point

Earlier today, bought a couple sets of Mixels Series 1 (I already had a couple sets, but found a few more at a TRU). On a whim, put the up on eBay. Already sold one set for $85. Not a bad day's worth of work, selling them less than 10 hours later for almost twice what I paid.1 point

Not all UCS seems to be created equal; sometimes Star Wars is in the eye of the beholder. But Boba flew away with Carbonite Han in this ship; my 11-yr old self gives me no options where best-of-breed Slave One is concerned.1 point

I will never be able to look at this set again without thinking about repairing fiberglass.1 point

I think majority of the spacecrafts in Star Wars wouldn't win any beauty contests by most people's standard.1 point

Exactly. No nonsense, old school eBay sort of thing. A very nice interface that is attractive and usable. We will verify people and ask for real photos, charge the lowest price in town and kick out the a-holes quickly. Charge a fair price and your items will sell and you won't get killed by high commissions.1 point

Jeff and his programming minions are making nice progress on the Classifieds. I feel really bad always saying this because I've been saying it for a long time, but the newest version looks and works great. There are just do many small details that always need to be addressed when dealing with money. It has to be done right or people will lose faith immediately. I will just leave you with one main idea of the Classifieds...We are seller friendly.1 point

The comments in this topic make me realize that is set is going to be huge and fantastic, people that are normally not into SW, Spaceship, UCS etc. wanting this set. Can't wait for the aftermarket!1 point

Also makes a good point for buying only large and expensive exclusive sets. HD was not one.1 point

Well, there does appear to be 2 distinct LEGO secondary markets... The US and everyone else. As time goes on I realize the two are distancing themselves from one another. It's not that prices of sets are much different in the secondary market, but it's becoming clear that LEGO itself treats the two markets quite differently. Higher MSRPs in one region, no sales on exclusives in another is keeping interaction at a minimum. I also believe that reselling is more of an American phenomena.1 point

I seem to remember a bunch of posts saying the Ucs b wing was a dud and would never make it back to MSRP. At $99 it was a no brainer.1 point
