  1. New TRU Rewards program starts today. Only email delivery but you can set your reward threshold up to $200 so you can use more then $5 online per order. Also instead of 2 points per $1 it is 1 point per dollar but instead of 500 points equals $5 it is now 125 points so basically it looks like the value has doubled. Points get emailed every 2 weeks instead of mailed monthly. I am sure there are another 100 changes, rules, and details I am missing so check it out and set your account preferences.

  3. So I sold a few used SW figs a week ago, mostly Hoth rebels with a couple of Taun-Taun. Not a big deal, just some bits sorted from bulk. Anyway I get a mail from the Lady I sold them too on eBay today, saying that the Taun-Taun weren

  4. Attached some screenshots for visual aid. I don't know if you can see eBay's shipping calculations unless you have already sold an item on eBay and choose to "Print shipping label" again just for testing purposes (not actually print another). In my test example, your weight/dimensions from CA to NJ is $8.99. The shipping costs are painful at any level, but that's a little easier to swallow than $11 or more. My first pic had the wrong info from the original sale. If you see in the middle, there's a link "Change weight & dimensions" where you get to Pic #2. That lets you see all the options in one easy spot.

  6. Hey all, quick question: I noticed I have a few 6137 - DUPLO My First Supermarket tucked away from a couple years back, and these have pink Boxes (implying targeted at girls) - At some point they changed the packaging to the standard Green DUPLO box, with that as the only change to the set. Does this sort of thing occur often? I couldn't find any obvious examples. Anyone think this could have any impact on the value of the pink boxed sets? For reference: Pink Box - Green Box -

  9. Hmm. Where is the Association of Paranoid Turkish People who Happen to Live in Germany when you need them? I was impressed with how they motivated Lego to declare the EOL date for Jabba's Palace well in advance. If only they'd had a bone to pick with the SSD... Anyway, surely a broken down old house filled with monsters is sufficiently offensive? They must just not know about it (maybe because their Google image search scanning algorithm only looks for things that sort of resemble mosques). If I had their e-mail address...

  14. In paypal there is an option when you click buy shipping, choose usps, then select priority thick/small package from the drop down menu. After you select that there should be an option under the menu that says compare shipping or something. Click it and it will allow you to configure dimensions and weight. Hope that helps.

  16. As someone said earlier, I will buy a box to complete my collection, but at $4 per, they are nothing special and if they keep making similar characters, people will lose interest. There could be so many "themed" CMF Series that could be highly collectible. As Grolim mentioned maybe a "Deck of Cards" theme, a Mythology theme, a Zombie theme, a STAR WARS theme, a Superheroes theme, a Harry Potter theme....whatever. I can go on for a half an hour.

  18. Definitely consider the stables, they make a fine addition to any luxury property. Tony Stark would have it no other way, though the horses he would likely switch for 'horsepower' instead. As far as blowing things ups, dangerous buyers are often the ones who can be talked into the highest prices if done so with enough flare. Best of luck in persuading him to buy the property, but at the same time leave it intact. If he still insist on blowing it up, make sure he does so only after purchasing and the papers have been signed.

  21. Not quite but I'm getting there between the three Log Cabins, three Small Cottages, and four Seaside Houses under my belt. All except for two are rented out at the moment. I'm always trying to haggle for a few more properties to add in my portfolio.

  30. Interesting thing with the Family House is it actually includes enough pieces of the right size to build a modular home. I was going to save this for another topic but what the heck. Check it out. I have found plenty of other alternates for the set impressive one way or another but I'll save those for later. ;)

  35. This is a topic for another thread, but buying LEGO on credit is a viable practice...and actually smart at times. Using someone else's money to buy an appreciating asset(especially when bought at a discount) works for many on this site. You just have to be careful not to overextend one's self.

  36. I hate when people buy multiples of a set yet they are unsure of its investment potential. The exo suit comes to mind. People are buying these by the caseload whining about whether or not it will be a winner and saying o well if not I have x amount of days to return. Meanwhile some can't even get one to build. Butthurt in 3......2.....1....

  38. No, they usually come out with them for every season. Plus a few additional ones for the holidays. Just checked my personal little collection of catalogs. For the last year, they are as follows: Fall 2013 Holiday 2013 Late Holiday 2013 (VIP members only) January 2014 Spring 2014 Summer 2014 I assume Lego will follow their previous patterns, and come out with a Fall catalog.

  39. I would also get a kick out of military-themed sets. Jets, bombers, ships, helicopters, and mini-figs from countries around the world. I want an Apache or A-10 hanging from my ceiling.
