  1. I think we need a user award for getting banned. Make it a badge of honor.

  2. Something occurred to me in catching up with this thread. I'm speculating that the Monster Fighter line was a mixed success for LEGO, definitely not the big seller they might have hoped it could have been. But with the HH continuing well past the shelf life that MF is having maybe LEGO will consider a one-a-year big exclusive Halloween based set much like the one-a-year released Winter (Christmas) themed sets that seem to do well. If the HH production lingers into 2015 then maybe another Halloween exclusive will be released Sept. 2015 and a new one every Sept afterwards. This might be a better way for LEGO to tap into that pent up Halloween product demand without committing to a wide spread line of releases like the MF was. Ultimately, hopefully, we can see things like a 'Haunted Graveyard', 'Abandoned Keep', 'Witch's Spooky House', 'Haunted House II' being put out year after year!

  3. Some very definitive statements by you about this set. Do you have some sort of inside info the rest of us aren't privy to regarding production levels & retirement? These are your opinions, NOT FACTS, so maybe don't state them as such. There are some pretty big time people on here who believe otherwise about this set. It has been available for under 2 years (Sept. 2012) - if 2 years from now it's still lingering (& it is possible) maybe these statements would be accurate. Bottom line, it's an exclusive, it's the first & maybe only haunted house Lego will ever produce & it's an awesome looking set & a great build, so let others formulate their own opinion. I for one, am investing FWIW.

  9. This set is too damn cool NOT to do well post eol. I've already got 13, shooting for at least 20. Patience is the key. I won't be selling any until at least three years after eol. Personally, I think those who talk bad about this set and spread opinions as fact secretly love it too. They are just trying to thin the investor herd. Anyone who has a clue should be in deep on this set.

  10. Always a possibility. Halloween has become a big time holiday here in the US so an annual themed Halloween set would do very well IMO.

  11. How do you know all this? Rules on Ban hammer are not out in the public, and that applies for US and EU customers. The only thing you know is that if you go way over the line - unknown as to where this line is drawn - you'll get the ban. Discounts on exclusives? Since the rule was enforced, not even Amazon has had discounts on exclusives. And I personally do not remember a discount on LEGO Shop at Home Spain during May on the SSD. And please, with the unspeakable discounts you get during clearances and the size of the secondary market in the US, how dare you say that resellers have a harder life in the US when compared to Europe? Just play your cards right and get on with it.

  12. I stopped by a Home Depot and saw they had these Stack-On tool organizers half off. I bought all they had. They should work well for the bricklink store I am starting. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Stack-On-39-Compartment-Storage-Cabinet-DS-39-12/100023878#customer_reviews

  18. Well, Lego never marketed it. All we had were a couple of YouTube / Lego website videos and 2 early reader books. Wish we really could have had a TV special or short series. Then maybe a second wave of sets could have been released. The set are actually pretty good and at least my kid likes them. The Vamp Castle looked to be the theme's 2nd winner until the Toys R Us mess (carrying it above MSRP despite being retired). The castle along with the Mansion could have helped the other sets with secondary market demand. Anyway, the Mansion will do quote well in the secondary market especially if it retires before 3 years. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  24. Starting in on some Ninja sets I recently bought. I just finished 6088, and these ninja sets are awesome. For anyone not familiar with the Ninja theme, it's less cartoony and more true to the subject matter than Ninjago. I officially love this theme and can't wait to build the rest... http://brickset.com/sets/6088-1/Robber-s-Retreat

  25. Alright, for all you guys that have ordered Exo Suits from LEGO Shop at Home and have not gotten a confirmation email yet, you might find this helpful. I called LEGO and the lady on the other line said that there were many thousands of orders on the 1st and that confirmation emails might be late. She also specifically checked on my order and made sure that everything was okay. She also said that it would go through a process to see if I'm ordering too many with multiple emails and addresses to see if I was a reseller. If everything went by, my order was supposed to be shipped ~ Aug. 11. Hope this helps you guys.

I'm not well versed in mini figs, anyone know if any of the extras are worth anything? Figured I might sell a few to further defray the cost.

  30. Seems like licensed cuusoo sets get multiple production runs, while non-licensed get one limited run. Perhaps they need huge production runs to make a profit with the license fees. There is something to be said about having some of your products be limited to increase interest in the brand, even though it seems to be counterproductive to the company's anti-reseller policy.

  31. Well I hope it will stick around for a while. The investor side of me would want it to be a very limited set with a huge resale value... But this time, the Lego and batman fan in me wants to see this set get into the hands of every Lego and batman fan at the correct price. It's weird that I feel that way, but I think this may very well be the absolute best lego set made so far. The tumbler is the coolest batmobile, the dark knight is a masterpiece of a film, and no one here doesn't love lego. 3 amazing realities packed into one amazing set. 39. Picked up 2xexo and 2xresearch (limit 2) at San Mateo (SF Bay Area) this morning. Not crowded, steady stream of geeky afols (me included) picking up the same thing. I asked how many exos they had in back, he said probably enough to last for the day but not the weekend. He also said they expected more exos in the future and the limit was only temporary (like they did with the deloreans), fwiw

  44. "I don't have an email account" works as an excuse not to sign up, since you have to have one and go online to complete VIP registration. Sure, they think you're a prepper off-the-grid kook, but better than them thinking you're a reseller!

  45. Right. With the next update, if there are any sales, it will show up. Jeff and I have discussed adding the MSRP price to new sets in the database with the next full Brickfolio version. At least this way, the sets in your Brickfolio have a value until we get some sold listings back from eBay to come up with a value.
