A LEGO Tumbler, the Caped Crusader's black armored vehicle of choice in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight movie trilogy, will be on display at Comic-Con this week beginning Wednesday. Following the pop-culture convention, which runs through July 27, the Tumbler toy (1,869 pieces, $199) goes on sale at LEGO stores and shop.LEGO.com in September. Measuring 15 inches tall and 9 inches wide, the LEGO Tumbler has an armored exterior, adjustable wings, a detailed interior (with a console screen that reads "INTIMIDATE") and oversized rubber-tread tires. It also comes with a fact sheet about the vehicle from the movies. If you're into character mini-figures, the stars of the set are a Christian Bale-styled Batman and the Joker, the first time Heath Ledger's The Dark Knight take on the villain has appeared in LEGO form. Looks like the X-Wing from the original concept art. You can see the 4 engines, they just look iike one from the front when the wings are closed. Given the fact that the galaxy went through a large scale civil war 20 or 30 years before ep 7 is set, plus whatever smaller battles took place in between due to the power vacuum the fall of the empire created, I wouldn't expect any major leaps in technology. We'll see more of the "used future" look that the OT is known for.

Well, we now have Target.com marking up GE, SSD, DS, Emma's Horse Trailer... Earlier in the year they marked up the Quinjet, and while they later dropped the price to clearance it out, the set was by then officially retired at shop.lego.com. They also marked up the Lone Ranger train and Forest Police Station, in each case shortly before the sets were marked "retired" by lego. Seems to me there's a track record here worth noting.

Just recently moved out of SoCal and apparently not many investors where I am now- picked up 6 Robie Houses from 3 local B&****** for average of $135 each after coupons and Raise GC.

Adding to the above, it would seem that 8-wide buildings are actually a thing. Who knew? Turns out in real life there are structures called a spite house (aka 'skinny house' in a couple cases). The dimensions of those vary unlike the modular house standards in Lego, of course, but the general idea is the same about one building of an odd shape looking out of place from everything else around it as if to 'spite' them. Anyway, I found a bunch more 8-wide modular builds. Most are real while a couple done digital but all interesting one way another. R2 has been one of my favorite builds. Not as big as some of the other large UCS sets, but the design and intricacy of some of the parts was great. The whole unit is very solid, with a lot of internal structure so that's where a lot of the part count goes. Loved mine so much I got the light kit for it:

I know it wasn't done on purpose, but for me, I prefer those color variations if I'm building something that is supposed to be old like a castle wall or haunted house.

I think it looks better with the different shades of green bricks. Sometimes a defect can be a good thing!

How I identified the boat (well down to 3). 6285 has a brown boat. On to Peeron.com to look at the 6285 parts list. Boat is part 2551. Search on Peeron on part 2551. Lists all sets by color for this part. Three are Navy Blue, all from 2009. Job done :)

I've been doing this a lot lately - I've got about 20 sets that I'm trying to put together right now, based on what should be in my bulk lot. To me, here's my process: 1. Sort out the bulk lot into color. 2. Print off the inventory from Bricklink. 3. Pull out the bricks for each set by color. 4. Place them in separate bags. 5. Figure out what's missing (there's always missing pieces). 6. Order from Bricklink. 7. Put together!

You've got a couple chunks of 7673 MagnaGuard Starfighter. Top right corner of the 3rd photo down and bottom left corner of the 4th.

The Police piece in pic 4 that says 7743 is from the Police Command Centre, set number, you guessed it, 7743 As are the trailer chassis in pic 4 and the white doors with 1x6 blue tiles on them from pic 2 That dark blue row boat is bugging me....

Everything is awesome.... But....am I the only one hope to get a batpod inside the tumbler? It will be a slight disappointment if LEGO does not include the batpod release function, since it is how I remember this vehicle in the movie. But otherwise this set is perfect!

I'm good with the small stickers... but my R2 name plate looks like a toddler applied it.

Yeah like the majority of people I ignored them at first but after checkin out the show nostalgia hit me because I was huge on tmnt when the 2003 animated series was going on and the more I checked them out the more I liked them since they're so different and creative, they just really stand out so they ll be a fun addition to my collection :D

man i need that little computer terminal with the two yellow clasps on the sides and the trans black screen on top, it goes to the middle of 7243/7244(something like that) can't remember the set exactly but mine's missing it and i haven't bothered to bricklink the screen and computers yet

Finally was able to build the Ecto-1 that has been sitting on my dresser for three weeks, it was a great build and is a near spot on model.

The life times of these sets kinda sucks. In regards to investment only you are talking late 2016-into 2017 ar a minimum for retirement. That is a long time. We'll see how long they keep arkham around. I expect a while, probably 2016. So many great sets. I sure hope the investing opportunity continues to present itself over time.

Here's an idea for a random character. How about this torso from the Chima sets but with light bluish gray arms and hands to match, then a pair of these legs, and top it off with this head or any of the zombie ones with perhaps a certain helmet, hairstyle, or hood to complete the look. It could be a necromancer, undead warrior, or (for Evil Dead fans) a Deadite! Just one of those random ideas when I saw the torso. There is also this cool alien skull helmet from Space Police III that might look cool on something.

I'm always amazed at how people on messages boards, across the Internet, on a variety of subjects, believe that the very tiny, little, insignificant audience that participates in these things has even one drop of iota of a say in anything that any big company does.

This story is getting boring. Back, gone, back, gone, back, poof...lego is messing everyone up here. I hope they do this for two more years. This is a great way to make money. By 2016, you'll see 27R6 and this thread will hit 1000 pages. To generate more messages, lego can put a retired tag on, then suddenly say it's a mistake.
