  1. Well my 2 Lego 42009's came in this morning via FedEx. In an original Lego box. A little compression in a couple of spots, one almost mint. For $55 I am happy.

  2. Still time to edit your post no need to call people demeaning names, especially two senior members on this forum with lots of great advice.

  4. I think they would reliably sell around 7$ - but is it worth it there? I mean, you pay 3.25ish with tax, you pay 1$ in fees and 2$ in shipping... and you are looking at making 75 cents. I would only buy them if it was a sealed case of 60

  5. Those are some good points of consideration that contribute to the discussion. It is too bad about that dragon considering how cool of a unique build it is and when the one before it did very well of 4894 Mythical Creatures. Coincidently you bringing up that set lead me to another released the same year that also was an airplane, 6745 Propeller Power. It's much smaller in both size and retail but somewhat similar in idea. Unfortunately like the Fiery Legend, it too is barely worth above retail by about $10 more on average. Lego's choice of colors or the size being closer to a kid

  7. Don't. Will it make money? Yes, but there are better opportunities. Here's a dumb analogy that I just pulled out of my butt. Your bathtub faucet is running and you have a pile of plastic pitchers next to you. The water is the rising value of Lego sets over time, and you're investing in pitchers to catch as much water as you can before it disappears down the drain. The more capital you have to invest, the more and bigger pitchers you have on hand. Do you grab a pitcher that is already 3/4 of the way full and fill it the rest of the way? No, you grab an empty pitcher so as to catch as much as you can as quickly as you can by minimizing the amount of water that spills into the tub while you fumble for another pitcher. Not my finest analogy in the world, but hopefully you get the point.

  9. The reason why people like speedsausage isn't picking up every GE is probably because the Vancouver market is flooded with Lego. For example, supraboy is based here and he's selling exclusives 25-50 dollars cheaper than Canadian msrp after taxes, so when there's a need we can just buy from him! 10. I am not one to complain, as I believe this is my first post in this 60 page thread, but one thing that irks me is when a buyer snipes one of my auctions at the last second, and then takes several days to pay for it. You know the person was online when the auction ended because they sniped it, so why not pay for it immediately so I can ship it right away? Argghh! Annoying! Sorry if this was already mentioned. I am not reading through a 60 page thread to check. Ok, I am done complaining now. Thanks.

  11. If you are looking to build eBay feedback quickly, then go for it. It will also enable you to practice your smooshing technique. Otherwise, buy whichever ones you need to complete your personal set, assuming you have one, and leave the rest for the kiddos.

  12. Check ebay and decide for yourself.... do not rely on others but rather on your own knowledge and brains If you think it is not worth it then it is not, if you think it is worth it buy it... do research! Good luck!

  13. This is one of those few circumstances where a Lego set has a professional model kit quality. If I had a kid and he/she asked for a train set, this would be the pick. I have always enjoyed the look of steam locomotives but this is special.

  14. The original designer, Peter Reid, and Lego worked together very closely on this so I would say both parties are pleased with the results. Wait a minute, the first completely original set design started as a CUUSOO project to finally be released as an Ideas set and it only gets one run?! Well it better be a good long run otherwise that is one seriously epic fail on Lego's part. For crying out loud, I was one of the original supporters of the Exo-Suit when it first started. Well, I will just make sure to buy one when it becomes available to the public.

  15. By the way frog, I wish I was the bone between two warring women sometimes. Oddly, it never happens. They just never seem to argue over me. It's probably for the best...the misses would kill them both. [emoji1]

  18. No investment here. People who.are buying this at a discount are obviouy addicted to discounts on any set. As someone else already pointed out, these don't sell. Bad investment. I actually thought this thread was headed in the right direction (logic) initially, alas the morons started to chime in... These guys will.buy ANYTHING at half off. I'm now convinced.

  20. I mean you were the one that failed on eBay. Not me. You said so yourself. Parting out is hard. But it's no where near impossible. While everyone else has been complaining about profits on eBay mine have been growing.

  24. Here is a nice medieval themed modular build. Yep, I'm back on the modular horse again. Then again, when did I ever get off? http://www.flickr.com/photos/25309284@N02/sets/72157627867696261/

  25. I just finished sorting & building a 15 lb lot I got from Goodwill. 4441 Police Dog Van, 4440 Forest Police, 3367 Space Shuttle, 3368 Space Center, 7208 Fire Station, 7287 Police Boat, 7641 City Corner, 7498 Police Station and 12 extra minifigs. Most of the instructions were included and less than a dozen pieces were missing. I paid way more than I normally would for used Lego but it was well worth the $96.

  26. The Target near me in Toronto did indeed have a bunch at %50 off. No Ninjago at this location, but lots of Chima. Passed on everything, i'm sure there's profit to be had on these at %50, but just not into the theme myself. As a side note it looks like this clearance is Toy department wide. Lots of stuff on clearance at %50 off.

  28. we heard rumors last yr from insiders on this site (plus I even did from my Conn-based employee connection). some came true (certain LOTR sets) while others didn't (e.g. Helm's Deep and Orc Forge by the summer, the mine, Tower Bridge) . then we had complete surprises (10227 B-Wing and Hulk's Heli...) anyway, lego doesn't have a replacement star wars playset to take it's place. the ewok village (i know it's fun) doesn't compare to the death star. neither does a huge sandcrawler (and i'm a big-time vintage sandcrawler and jawa fan). maybe a huge cloud city or a 10188 refresh since the set is 6 years old. who knows at this point. until i see a "retiring soon" sign on shop.lego.com, nobody has an idea.
