  1. Happy Independence Day to everyone regardless of background, country, race, Lego investing opinions, etc... At one point, we all have earned our "independence" in one way or another (e.g. The Master Builders from Lord Business, various countries from the British ) and remember to "Crush it like Quint this holiday weekend" and BE SAFE .

  4. Those are fakes, authentic Deadpools seem to be selling in the $20's. This probably drives up the price of the sealed set too, there are probably people who would rather spend the money on the set to ensure that they're getting authentic minifigs. There are a ton of fakes on ebay.

  6. For anyone sitting on the fence deciding to build this set or not i would strongly advise you do. In my opinion it is a truly excellent model set, it was great fun to build and i was/am so impressed by its size, it is absolute huge. It really is an eye catching thing sitting on the living room shelf, everyone who comes round looks at it and gives excellent comments, well my male friends anyway:)

  8. Well, when the entire population of Lego store employees is included, they do know more than we do. The problem is that the word of any one particular employee cannot be trusted 100%. On average, I think the opinion of a random employee should be given about +25% on the WOBLES (Wray's Official Believability of Lego EOL Scale

  9. There's nothing spot on about an assumption. It's a prediction, and a wild one at that. If you're happy paying triple RRP in the hope it will return large profits then go for it. Personally I think there's a limit on how far this set will climb in a year or two. I would feel more comfortable investing in a VW for the same money. Each and everyone to their own.

  10. Tb aren't necessarily showing eol signs . The rover is limited quantities and steadily pushing along. I think once Christmas comes and retired shows up in the us $150 is inevitable

  12. I went to three Targets yesterday and one of them had three available, another one had 6-7, and the last one did not have any. I bought two this morning from the Target that had the most available. Hopefully the get discounted more later this month.

  15. I disagree. I've sold 3 in the past 2 weeks for $50-$75 each, which is what I was selling them for months ago as well.

  17. Hard to explain in english, that's those moments when I feel bad... Well, I'll try to explain myself. Take a look at this: For me it means the item can be sold for Xmas at MSRP, and because of its quite low value it makes a nice (new) gift for families that haven't a lot of money. Rest of the time, nearly no sells. Even for used sets. Zero used items sold ? Does it mean it's so cool everybody want to keep it ? Or that it's not seeked after ? If you look at this link, I think there are too much red lines (unsold sets) http://www.ebay.fr/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=lego+31011&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=2 When I said that I would grab some with a high discount, that's not because I'm so greedy or fearful and want not risk investing with my sets: that's just because I would REALLY fear to be stuck with THIS set. So getting some with a high discount, I could resell them with a discount too (compared to the MSRP). And hope it's enough to make these sets fly away. That's what I did with galaxy squad and lone ranger sets. Bought 50 or even 60% off, resold with 30% off. I didn't want to keep those sets, to join my Atlantis, Naboo gugnam and Podracer sets (only 1 of each, pfiu ! glad not to have some more, it's really taking dust). Of course, I may be 200% wrong and this set will have a nice CAGR... or maybe not. I have a bad feeling about this one, so I share my opinion. I think that losing some money is something (invest $50, sell $40, so you lose $10: not a big deal), but beeing stuck with sets nobody wants is another thing (invest $50, no sales, so lose $50, and have to make gifts to your friends any family or be ok to highly discount your sales, and that's why I talked about discounts). Well, I understand that people here like this plane (the propeller moves when you pull the rear wheel, it's a nice 3 in 1...) but because I do not believe in the potential of this set I think it's ok to share my thoughts. Sorry if I offensed some people, it really wasn't my point ! Look, I love galaxy squad, especially the 70708 and the 70705 even if this theme is a failure as an investment. I will not be glad to see my friends investors disappointed and think "too bad for this guy, stuck with 10 boxes, I had a bad feeling about it, I should have share my thoughts". (I hope my english was good enough to be understood ! ^^ )

  19. $500 is not terrible if you're planning on holding long term and haven't bought in yet. You have 120 days to return to target if it does come back. If it's not back in stock at LEGO Shop at Home by then, I think it's pretty safe to say that this is good as done.

  22. No one buying this set at 500 a pop is considering selling it anytime soon. The ones doing this are either buying it for their personal collection or buying to hold long term.

  28. For the past few days I have been watching Band of Brothers miniseries on Amazon Prime. This halluva 10 episodes show was wonderfully written, acted, and directed. It told a story of men in Easy company, a part of 506th parachute infantry regiment from training through their participation in WWII. Since it was a miniseries, it had the opportunity to depict the combats and war related scenarios from various point of views, from the Commanding Officer, Staff Sergeants, Private, and even the Medic. It showed the war as it was, very realistic, without glorifying it in any way. It was a great potrayal of how these men became as close as they were through shared experience and traumas. The look and feel seemed to be accurate to the era (not that I am an expert). It had a lot of explosions and gun shootings per the subject matter, some swearings, and almost no nudity. Btw, it was produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. Highly recommended http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wlYPlwjGOY

  29. This is correct. So anytime you see someone posting that a store manager said that "they can't order set xxxx anymore", either the poster or the manager doesn't know what they're talking about. Probably both.

  30. I don't think it will become a winner. Wings are not good looking (it kind of reminds me the 7660 naboo starfighter), and the white rudder is ugly, it looks like a sock. If I can have some with 50% off why not but otherwise, no thanks. I would fear not to be able to sell it more than the actual MSRP.

  31. It probably beats both my great Craigslist finds. My Best one was a lot of about 35 sets including A Death Star, ATOT Drop Ship, Obi Wan Jedi Star Fighter, Clone Tank, slave 1, 7965 Falcon, and other assorted items. I paid 400$ for it. Brickpicker used total (it was all complete) was $1750.

  33. Set comes with 3 separate cardboard backed instruction books: Quick Build Hover Craft, Medium Build Helicopter, and Advanced Build Airplane. 8 unnumbered bags one of which has 2 bags for smaller elements in it. No stickers a few printed elements and very few technic pins. All sorted and the element that stands out the most is the chrome painted engine. Only on step 19 and the wings are a little flimsy for now. It would have been nice if the yellow elements were red thus red white and blue. Having built the Sopwith already I think this would have been better to have built first and for $28.50 may be nice to have if you get the itch to open a Sopwith.

  37. Looks like maybe 15-20 have sold on eBay in the past 90 days in the $40-$50 range. Slim margins and low turnover were enough for me to pass on these even at 50% off. Looks like a fun build, but the indicators are not promising.

  43. Hello, Ciglione here. Well it's off topic... But, to give you a reply, I'm not sure, but if you are thinking about it because of investing, you should look at these links: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/brickpicker/id799747876?mt=8 and http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/5132-a-serious-discussion-about-brick-classifieds/ (for iphones) Maybe someone in your family will be happy to sell an "old" iphone (iphone 4 or 4S) so he can get a newer one. Iphone 5 seems to work better (optimized with this application) but it will be more expensive. (I have an old samsung smartphone (android system), so I can't give some real good advice about this, because it doesn't work well with my phone)
