  1. So one thing Ed and I want to convey about Brick Classifieds is that... It is YOUR Store!!! There will be a category structure that everyone follows and puts their items in, but overall it you will get to control many aspects of it. It takes a little from eBay, a little from Bricklink/Brickowl, but still different. Maybe like an Etsy but for LEGO. Here are a few more features on how things will work or features that will be available to you. 1. Discounts and Promotions: You will be able to run discounts and promotions on any aspect of your store. Say you have a large inventory of #10179 MF and you want to unload a few. You can specify a dollar or percent discount on that one product. There will be a Promotions widget and links to view all vendors that are running specials. You can run specials on the whole store, so if you say "oh screw it, I hate LEGO" and want to unload everything at 70% off, you can do that. If you want to specify a special category, you can do that. There are also quantity discounts. If you say "Buy 5 Mr Golds, get the 6th FREE" you can do that as well (Note, all these specials are things Ed talked about. He is ready to unload ) 2. Buy from Multiple Vendors: You will have a cart. You will be able to buy from multiple vendors in one shopping trip. Buy 10 sets from Ed, Buy 50 from me, buy a few from TheOrkKing and screw it, buy a few minifigs from ComicBlast. At the end you will get to select your shipping methods and see a grand total and pay once. 3. Instant Payouts: Ed and I are both fans of Paypal for its simplicity, security and options. I really do not want to get involved with storing people's credit cards, going through PCI compliance and any other hassles involved with it. The beauty of using Paypal is, it will allow us to do the multiple store checkout. Once the payment is processed, each vendor will get paid their cut and start the transaction process. Each person will be notified that they have an order and can start communicating and preparing their shipments. Later when we start to include fees, the nice part for everyone is, is that all fees will be taken care of, right there at the transaction. All sellers will get their money and we will get our commission. It speeds up the process and we will not have to hire a hitman to collect for us. 4. Sell MOC designs/digital downloads: Those that don't care about buying and selling sets, but are builders and designers will have a category for yourself to showcase your designs and sell the instructions. Buyers will be able to pay for your instructions. Once they pay, they will be able to get a download link to obtain the instructions and any other documents that you need to give. Basically just ZIP everything up and upload to the system. Everything else will be taken care of. So there are a few more features, I hope this works for most of you. I am sure everyone may not care or be happy. But I think most will be ok with it.

  2. My son wanted The Eiffel Tower (21019) as a reward for grades so we built that together yesterday and he's got it displayed in his room now, I was surprised when he asked for that one, I would have expected him to ask for some Star Wars sets. When we finished it he said he wanted to go see the real one, at least now I know his plan. I told him we'd talk about that after senior year (he's seven).

  3. It wouldn't hurt to be a little high when watching certain parts of the movie I'll admit but it is an interesting story told with minimalistic dialogue and full of symbolic imagery as a fantastic soundtrack plays in the background about a boy growing up and how events cause types of mental 'walls' to be built by them. You may not fully understand everything from the first viewing but afterwards when given a chance to settle in thy mind for contemplation, more of it becomes even clearer. Aside from the classic "Another Brick in the Wall" parts, my favorites are "Empty Spaces" (<--some naughty visuals at the beginning & end) and "Hammer March". The music used in the film are similar yet different from the original album which I thought was neat.

  5. Use promo code WeLoveDad during checkout and get 25% off any set. Pretty good for us Canadians if you need a set for collection/personal, especially newer sets...always had good experience with Indigo box condition/delivery and plus you get Plum Pts that add up. Bought one Mirkwood Elf Army for personal collection...I'm sure we can find better deals (+25% off) but I'll play it safe and just get one for myself now. Too bad Helms Deep is sold out Millennium Falcon 7965 was tempting at 25% off since I just sold my last two for over retail price. Free delivery over $25...was going to get small cottage set for my son but was a few bucks under free delivery...maybe I'll go back and add a polybag or something to the cart. *you can print off coupon and go to store also, maybe you'll get lucky and find a R2D2

  6. I love that I finally quit retail. Made it to 20 years with Target a few months back, turned in my notice last week. Now it's just boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. Oh, and Lego.

  9. For those of you experiencing shipping problems with Amazon destroying your boxes check this out. I ordered FOUR shirts and they shipped in this box which was then filled with individual airbags.

  10. Welcome! When you say Star Wars sets from the 80s and 90s are you still talking LEGO? Didn't Star Wars LEGO start in 1999?

  12. If someone has limited items for sale - say just 1 of something - does adding it to cart stop someone else buying it, if you are then browsing elsewhere for multiple vendors, or is it anyone's until it's actually paid for (could someone else buy it while it's sat in my basket?) Whoever gets to the finish line first wins.

  15. It doesn't have to be. Everyone who keeps updating this set's inventory level at every online retailer is making it so.

  17. I think people need to realize the trend in retail and marketing today is to smaller and less. Companies like to promote "more this" and "bigger that," but in reality, the amount of product customers receive is less than 5 years ago...for the same price. From toilet paper to water bottles, packaging engineers are using clever methods to deceive customers. Why should LEGO be any different? If a LEGO set of today has 1000 pieces, are those pieces the same size and weight compared to a similar sized set from 5 years ago, that had 1000 pieces and was priced the same? Good question. 28. I took some pictures but I'm not very good. The train was black, I'm a little disappointed. We kept its coming as a secret not be bored with people crossing tracks but 50 people still knew it and came to look at it. The train really uses a LOT of water, half an hour to fill the water tank with a water pomp. The biggest surprise for me was that the train was able to move backwards at a "high" speed, about 80km/**** (50mph)

  29. Lol, why is anyone worrying about the names so much? This is a silly "name a fake LEGO ship" contest, not a historically accurate research project. If you like a name, vote for it. It doesn't seem like there should be lobbying for or against certain choices regardless of your thoughts on it.
