  1. A mod asked to keep this on topic the last comment before this. EOL guesses are not retiring updates. This same question gets asked weekly. Read some other topics.

  2. The New Elementary has just put up a nice review on the Ecto-1 for the site. The single most important feature here is there are absolutely no stickers!

  4. What's the issue.... As a buyer I want you to send me the item first. If it's as described and I when I get a chance I will pay you. You need to be more patient.

  5. For those in the community that have a regular job/kids/other responisibilities how do you schedule time to keep the wheels of your hobby turning. Lego in Lego out. Do you schedule to sell one set per day, two sets? Only list on Sundays? Write up your listings during the week and Schedule listings for Sundays. Who hosts your images? Brickpicker or another resource? Looking for what has worked for others in this wonderful world of Lego. From the input I will generate my own Standard Operating Procedures. I have been buying buying buying. My inventory has been expanding and my little room is overflowing. Typically I sell a few sets here and there as needed to pay off debt accrued from buying. I do not have any kind of rhythm or method - S.O.P., like setting a specific percentage price target. Say once I can clear 30-50-100% or a specific CARG on a set it is time to sell. Setting standards may help take the emotion out of the decision. What can I say...I really like Lego.

  9. Well I founded this set in a "display box" (not sure for the term...) This pictures show the box I saw, it's not this one but looks the same. This picture has been taken from an ebay "buy it know" but because the price is about 800 dollars I'm not sure if it's very serious. So, if was searching for nice sets (and founded some ^^) in a toy shop, and saw this beauty. The display box has some light but that's it, no music or sounds. I wasn't able to see if it has been yellowed, this set was on top of shelves 3 meters high (10 feet). The employee/seller said he isn't sure he can sell it, his boss wasn't here and he will recall me later. What does such an item (really) worth ? Do you know if bricks are glued ? Thanks

  10. Sorry to hear that, it would have been a great find! 200 euro sounds about right given that it is Harry Potter, the flagship set (a castle), and in an awesome looking display. I`d have bought it no question, and I`m certain there are several other members who would love to do the same. When you factor in gas to make another trip though, that`s going to play a part. Oh well, better luck next time for you!

  11. Mauro, I think both will be good investments. It is no pissing contest. It is business.

  12. The cost of requiring a signer is about $3 and it is an add on (not included with shipping) Basically you are looking at 1% less profit. If this concerns you, add $5 to your base listing price to cover it. For example, instead of selling for $280+ shipping you would sell for $285+ You don't have to advertise it on your listing either so the buyer will only know when you upload tracking. You can always use USPS/FedEx sites to do a test of shipping costs. Before I list an item, I estimate the maximum cost of continental shipping based on the box size and mass (I use WA to NY). You can add features on the respective websites to get an accurate price. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Brickpicker mobile app

  13. Here's the deal with the 10221. 1. See if you have the funds to buy it. 2. Find it. 3. Buy it. 4. Put it away. 5. Wait until it inevitably retires (today, next month or next year). 6. Watch it go up, waaaaaaay up 7. Count your dollar bills in your dreams. I am happy that I have a couple but I would always like more (oddly enough it was a Lego store that moved me to buy this instead of other sets). It may have a lower cagr than other sets but it is as close to a sure profit as you can find. This message will self destruct. (: Sent from my Nexus 4 using Brickpicker mobile app

  14. To be fair, they also said DS was done last year. SSD may still not be done, so that remains to be seen. If people just go around saying this set and that set are retired, they're bound to be right from time to time.

  15. Lookie...lookie here...The SSD is OOS at TRU. Lookie like somebody right about his prediction on The Brick Show... Maybe an apology by some might be in order. Maybe the T1 Camper info should resonate a little louder now.

  16. Sears sent me an e-mail the other day essentially saying: "Sorry an item you wanted wasn't in stock - maybe this item will interest you!" And it was a link to the Fire Lord... which is OOS from what members have been saying here.... oh Sears, haha.

  18. I have had a couple buyers tell me that. One even swore that eBays policy was for the seller to send and the buyer pays once the product arrives.

  19. Went to B&****** to use my 20% off and couldn't find a good set to buy, I either was all stocked up or wasn't interested in the sets they had. I wound up buying this strange thing made of paper. I believe it's called a book. I didn't realize that Barnes & Noble sold those. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

  22. I don't believe a store is required - it should be a checkbox right on the sell your item page, a few fields down from where you set the price.

  23. Nobody should be panic buying the Ecto-1,or when they see the Sold Out sign on Lego, lego know's that they have a Gold Mine on this set. since its a License Movie Piece it will be out at least a year, just like the Back to the Future Set. "So Don't Panic" You will have plenty time to get as many as you want.

  25. You know you are Lego-obsessed when: I had a dream last night and I was at a store feeling a Simpsons bag in my hands and I felt a cylinder piece. Thought it was Apu, but then felt the handle! I got Ned Flanders! Lol

  28. I have some time to wait before my new son will be able to help me build. Many who have read my responses now know I am a proud pappa. I have wanted a child more specifically a son for mor ethan a decade. We were blessed with a son to adopt just 10 weeks ago. I left this house this morning with a warm heart....When I said goodbye to him this morning he gave me a heart melting smile. Teary eyed just typing it. Go ahead poke fun...I am cream puff and wear my emotions proudly.
