  1. I have had someone tell me that X website or seller has this item for way cheaper than you do My response........Thanks for the heads up! Don't bother trying to buy it because I already did. Next time I suggest you buy it instead of wasting time emailing me.

  2. Just found a super star destroyer at a local lego store. The box is completely trashed (boxes intact inside) but the Manager was motivated to get rid of it and offered me an extra 1000 VIP points if purchased + promo minifig. Since I wanted one to build I'm pretty happy and can't complain. At least I don't have to store the huge box lol.

  3. Bags 12 and 13 are for the Sandcrawler's bow. The design really shines here and is much simpler than 10144. Snap elements are used to connect the inward angled to the main body. Then simple ball joints are used to connect the up and outward angled portion. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  5. Cockpit done and C3PO is in sight. Ugh, that sticker... Still, much better cockpit this time around than in 10144. Although I wish 76059 had transparent elements in the front. Comparison sneak peak although Brick Show beat me to it since they had 76059 before me . ...and no. The pic below is not a still of "Brokeback Tatooine Mountain : The Utinni Edition". I know, some silly humor. No offense to anyone. I just wanted to show the difference with 2 Jawas in each cockpit. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  7. This sounds like a "I didn't get to buy what I wanted at the price I wanted to pay to get the figure I wanted so I'm going to hope the figure becomes worthless" post. This figure's existence in any future novels, games, movies, shows or anything else is completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter what Disney decides to do with the character. The minifigure exists and people will want it. Unless it shows up at TRU at some point, there will be a lot less of these around than many other minifigures. Even if Disney decided to pretend the KOTOR universe doesn't exist, it doesn't take this character out of the minds of people who already like the games and/or character. If anything it only increases the chances that this minifigure will never be remade again, thus making it more valuable. The minifigures of Malgus, Vader's Apprentice, etc. aren't going to become worthless just because Disney decided they don't really exist. They do exist, as LEGO minifigures.

  8. If someone contacts me and says "I can have it for X $ on amazon, so what do you say ?" I gently reply "it's a very good deal and amazon is a good website, you should go for amazon's offer, bye" or something like that. Note that it's sometimes hard to be polite because some people are quite rude. A guy mailed me on craig's list, and said nor "hello", nor "please", nor "is it possible...", nor "bye". Only "what's your bottom price". Not even a "?" at the end of the sentence so I felt like a gangsta was talking to me. I replied my last price was a trophy for the best air guitar show, senior category. (in french "price" ("prix") also means "trophy") He got upset, of course... lol As an afterthought I should have replied that my bottom price was the current one (it already was a very good deal).

  10. It seems like an unofficial tradition that Lego releases two exclusive Super Heroes figures each year, one DC the other Marvel. Martian Manhunter was given away a few months ago but I haven't read anything at all about what Marvel figure (if any) will be released. I've heard speculation that it might be the Winter Soldier (which would make sense) but still no evidence based news about what the exclusive might be. Does anyone here have any ideas on the subject? What would your choice of figure be?

  11. Sears is running "everyone gets extra 15% off or members can choose 25% back in points" on several categories, including appliances. You can make the selection at the final point of the checkout (when "place order" button is shown). Other categories are a bit less. Toys are not part of the promo. The promo is shown on front page. 25% back in point is not too shabby if you always wanted a new fridge, and get some points to burn on lego

  13. One of the great concepts of investing in sets that you like. If it doesn't turn out to be a good investment, you can still build it.
    1 point
  14. I agree with Martin, there's only so much a set can rise until people just won't purchase it any more. Same can be said about any good or service, and has been shown to be true.

  16. Lol I'd rather watched that than the senate blah blah blah or the "love story" we had in ep 2. Or just open ep 2 with Darth Maul fiercely dueling and defeated by this random badass old man. That would 1. establish Dooku's power and 2. be double shock when it was revealed that he worked with Sidious all along.

  17. When I started this thread, I didn't even think about the fact that my 11-year old son, who is both into Star Wars and Legos, could care less about the Darth Revan figure. He watches the movies and the cartoon shows, but had never heard of Darth Revan (I, on the other hand, had played the video game based on KOTOR and liked the character quite a bit). I can see how some kids might think he's just a cool looking mini-fig, but I see long-term value in characters that people love and "have to have". I am not saying I know what is going to happen here. I just have concerns about the long-term value. Short-term, I say go for it! Sell them while they're hot. But I am just afraid this will be like a Twilight movie opening weekend where it makes 90% of its box office gross in three days. I'm not saying this one will only be pullling in decent bucks for three days, but I think it could be a short-term gain for the rabid fanbase that really wants it. Beyond that, I don't know how much of a market there is for him if Disney doesn't do more with him. I hope they do, because I love the character and will probably buy the minifig shortly one way or another, investment issues asside.

  18. I try to be polite at all costs IF I respond. Thank you for your generous offer but I will pass. No need for any explanation. No verbal fighting. If you try to haggle by suggesting you will take a little less you may leave yourself open to a lot more messages. I don't like to be ignored when I submit offers so I try to respond to most offers I receive. I low ball on occassion but it usually based on the type of seller. Does the seller only list Lego or is it someone who lists all kind of used knick-knacks and misc stuff. The typical junk dealer probably got it in an estate sale or in some other fashion and may be more apt to just get the quick flip. All you need to do is look at what they are selling. I also submit lower offers for people only selling one item at a time. Most of the time larger volume sellers will only lower prices if you buy in quantity...so sometimes I do. I have found and bought some great deals using the basis of these ideas.

  21. I think Revan is one of the cooler promo figures to come out of Lego. The biggest draw is the fact that he's a cool looking Sith lord, and we really don't have a ton of variety with Sith lords in minifig form. I've never played The Old Republic, but I bought up the sets because the minifigs, especially the Sith, look awesome. There will be people who want Revan even if they've never heard of KOTOR.

  22. I don't know much at all about Darth Raven since I haven't finished the old republic stuff. Still want him - case and point. 1. Hes badass looking 2. Hes a star wars figure Thats enough for most people that aren't hardcore in the sense of knowing all storylines everywhere that ever existed.

  23. Yeah, we need a Johnny Manziel mini-fig. I wonder if he will be part of NFL canon.

  24. No, this isn't one of those posts. Notice in my first post I said, "I hope I'm wrong..." about this. And again, I didn't say he isn't a good investment. I just have doubts about any kind of long-term investment. I'm sure I can pick up a figure in a few months for about $10, but I was just hoping to package him with some other good deals this weekend that never really worked out. I'm not bitter or anything. I'm hoping he works out for everyone. I LOVE TOR world. I want to see it stay in the canon and succeed, and I don't wish investment failure on anyone. I really do hope he works out for everyone.

  25. Bought this yesterday, along with 10 pounds or so of other assorted LEGO's. It looks like there are more minfigs and other pirate/castle type parts and figures than belong to this ship alone. I'm not familiar with this line at all, so I'm thinking there may be a smaller pirate related ship. Anyways, the big ship was immaculate, but very dusty. It **looks like** all the pieces are there and it really hasn't even been played with or touched for 20 years. They were asking $50, I bought for $45.

  28. Bought 15 at target yesterday, feeling the packs a bit but relying mostly on random selection as the packs on the rack felt unsearched. Opened them with my wife while watching Game of Thrones. We were both really impressed by the quality- they really are beautiful and well made and I think are worth the extra $. Got duplicates of Apu, scratchy and Mr. Burns. Got no Homer, Bart, Nelson, or Grandpa but all in all seemed like quite a good draw

  31. Not the 10% sales, no, it`s a horrible deal. For the sets that were 50% off in addition to Revan, that`s really quite good. Exclusive SW sets are also a solid deal, but ya, other than that not so much.

  32. Managed to skip on buying anything this year. Temptation was there to get Darth Robot but interest dipped off now that according to Star Wars he never really happened. Hopefully the chinese decide to create an exact duplicate so I can pick him up for a couple bucks later.

  34. Just completed bag 12. Not many more left. Main 4 side flaps / doors are installed along with the front main entrance door and crane. The door is opened and closed with a technic wheel that looks out of place. While the chains are a nice look, I would have preferred a manual lift. Additionally, the turn wheel is a tad hard to twist. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  35. Another tip in losing some weight. If you pack well enough with bubbles, etc. there are parts of the box (the flaps) you can shorten by cutting them off a couple inches - assuming you pack well enough that it wont matter. I do that quite a bit if I am right on the edge of a pound change (which is a big increase in USPS)

  40. I've been working in the wheels, treads, and suspension (bags 7 and for a while now. Connecting the tread elements are time consuming but at least the same element is used from 10144. I'm happy the overly shines plastic ones form the Ninjago Ultra Sonic Raider wasn't used though they are more screen accurate (big wide tank-like ones). If I remember correctly, 10144 had 34 tread elements per set (8 sets in total). This set also has 8 sets of treads but the element count increased to 38. Getting back to the suspension, I haven't read or heard much about this set's suspension improvements over 10144's. Not only does 75059's wheels turn left and right but also includes up and down 'give' for off-roading! Great design tidbit hear. Look at the pictures below to see what I'm typing about. Totally awesome little feature. Suspension design allows Sandcrawler to drive over objects = film = 10144's bottom = wheel movement restricted to right and left. = Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  45. May 4th is a glorified way of clearing out backed-up inventory, basically a pre-clearance clearance sale. The only thing they advertised was the minifig and the poster, both of which are still readily available. The people mad about the lack of inventory are the same people that buy up all the clearance LEGO they can find at Target or Walmart before everyone else has a shot... you can't have it both ways.

  46. So the figs came first, then the show? That's plausible, but according to the interview with the show's producers, the episode has been in the works for two years. The typical product cycle for a set is 6-9 months. I suppose animation probably occurs at the back end of the production cycle, but I have to believe they knew what the characters would look like after storyboarding. You could be right, and the CGI process actually dictated the limitation of the show's minifigs. But, I'm still surprised the CMFs figs don't reflect the show's design, although after seeing the show figs I am happy they don't. The "realistic" minifigs produced are fantastic. 47. Yes that is the problem with the generic Friends sets. They will always have a house and stables. You cannot compare to a modular that will never be rehashed (i.e. FB). They may do ok but there are certainly far superior choices to invest in.
