  4. I really wonder how well these "The Lego Movie" sets will do. I see in many local stores that they do not sell that well anymore. Also they do significant discounts as if they want to get rid of them. The initial buzz is tempered now. I`m really curious how well the second wave of more expensive sets will do. Okay I love the spaceship, spaceship, spaceship. While the Construct O mech looks cool, it 's also rather expensive and children seem to forgotten the movie already

  5. Got a few Dolphin Cruisers last night for pick up at a semi close Kmart omw to work. They had 4 left, wish they had more at basically $28 each. I took a quick scan of the isles there, they had barely anything left in clearance but I did find one Lion Chi Temple which had a return receipt on it. I checked all the seals and they looked very solid and untampered. I price scanned it and it came up $35 which was weird cause it was marked $108 on the clearance sticker, shoulda been $54. Anyhow Kmart loves to give away things so I finally got my first Chima set for basically free with the 20% back in points plus I had a coupon for $10 off $50. I bought some easter candy for my work break room to fill up the gap.

  7. I thought it would be helpful to have a thread for everyone to share their gold box deals and receive buying advice from the BP community. This should help keep some of the noise out of the daily deal threads. I understand the gold box system isn't that predictable, but at least this can provide a central place for everyone to see the variety of deals that pop up. I'll get things started. 9. Regardless or not if a carousel is included, I'll be just so excited to get a rollercoaster and then add on my motorized carousel from the Winter Market. Glad to hear about the 12 minifigures, and maybe we'll see the return of the 48X48 green baseplate aswell!

  14. I have repeated this story a few times and will continue posting it on every box related thread I had an opportunity to pick up 10 boxes of QAR for $90 each right after it retired. I bought the 6 most pristine boxes and left the ones with shelf wears behind. Everytime I go to eBay and see the price of used QAR without boxes I want to ETA: For the newbies, QAR = Queen Anne's Revenge (4195)

  15. I think you're missing the point. The Modular building series was conceived specifically with AFOLs (A= adult) in mind. The emphasis was always on realism (hence the finished backs).

  18. I use one PayPal account for PayPal, Bricklink, and at least two other (at any given time depending on who we're using) eCommerce marketplaces (generally book specific ones). PayPal is happy to have the money flow through them for their fees, they don't mind how many places you want to sell stuff and send the payments through them.

  25. Whether or not more Grand Emporiums are hitting the market in the next couple of weeks, members should realize this is a short term buy on the regular retail market. In my experience, when any LEGO set, especially ones that have been around this long, start to go in and out and in and out of stock from multiple sources, the writing is on the wall and EOL is knocking on the door. There are always exceptions, but now is the time to buy them IMO if you haven't already. One only has to look at the Fire Brigade as an example of people blowing off numerous signs of EOL to buy sets 50 more Batman Funhouse Escapes or Barrel Escapes and regretting it later....

  26. Hello, My wife and I found a full box of the Simpsons minifigures at Wal-Mart. I know, not supposed to be released until May 1st, but anyway we opened the full box up to see the breakdown. Here is a link to our Youtube channel in case you are interested in seeing the figures. The detail is amazing and the accessories are really cool. Lego has outdone themselves with this, the MSRP is a higher for these than previous releases, 3.99 per instead of the regular 2.99. Here is the distribution for those who are interested: Homer 5 Marge 5 Bart 5 Lisa 4 Maggie 4 Krusty 4 Itchy 4 Scratchy 4 Ned Flanders 4 Nelson 3 Millhouse 3 Ralph 3 Mr Burns 3 Grampa 3 Chief Wiggum 3 Apu 3

  29. Honestly, it bothers me. If the box isn't in MINT condition, been this way with everything I buy, I don't purchase the set.

  30. I talk to the person right on the spot and let them know that it is unacceptable. I know that sounds like a snob but it really isn't. That almost happened to me the other day. I purchased three Lego sets and the lady at the counter said, "I'm going to make sure all three will fit in one bag." I told her no. Do you buy a book w/ a torn dust jacket or a CD with a cracked case. I frequently make comments to employees that have those stupid spider security devices on sets that bend the crap out of the box. There is a right way and wrong way to do it. Now that being said, people on ebay don't seem to care too much but I make an effort to make sure what they are buying from me is in the best condition possible.
