Grab them ask the employee if they have more and nothing shows up, she looks surprise the cashier as well but anyway apply the 10% ending today for cartwheel + 5% Target card. Good day I would say.

  3. So the "current" key take away is to search for "retired product" and see which "sold out" sets display. Those are the sets that are retiring before the official label /tag is assigned. Many of us have been doing this since last Oct and it's pretty accurate.

  6. Just go to your average McDonalds and order something for $5.17 and give them a $10 bill. Once they punch in $10 on the register, hand them 17 cents and watch the horror as they try to figure out the new amount of money they need to give back to you .... (the answer is $5 by the way)

  7. I am happy to announce that we were able to work out a deal with Raise.com (a discount gift card) website. We noticed some of you have been using another service, but they really didn't reply to our messages. Raise.com was happy to work with us and looks to have many of the retail shops that we talk about here covered. Some of the deals will be e-codes that only work online and will be given to you quickly. Others will be physical cards that are shipped out to you. Regardless, this is a great way to shave another 5% or more off purchases. Obviously we would like to keep this partnership and that only works if you guys use the links here to show them you want to use it. The more that comes from us, the more opportunity there may be for us to get you deeper discounts or special offers. $5 off $75- New Customers Only Code: RAISE75AF Expires: 4/30 Exclusions: New customers only, cannot be used with additional coupons. Walmart gift cards: up to 3% off $89.11 for $91.73 (With new customer promo code, price drops to $84.11 for $91.73) Target gift cards: up to 5% off $95.04 for $100 $55.74 for $58.72 (With new customer promo code, price drops to $90.04 for $100) Sears gift cards: up to 6% off $28.29 for $30 $84.87 for $90 (With new customer promo code, price drops to $79.87 for $90) Barnes & Noble gift cards: up to 14% off $43 for $50 $86 for $100 (With new customer promo code, price drops to $81 for $100) Toys R Us gift cards: up to 7% off $46.78 for $50 $126.27 for $134.99 (With new customer promo code, price drops to $121.27 for $134.99) There are more stores to pick from for sure. 9. A few sites that have free instructions: Official LEGO Website - has most of the more recent sets Brick Instructions.com - they have a nice browsing function, but I don't really know about the depth of their database Let's Build It Again - a decent amount of older manuals World Bricks.com - Probably one of the more sophisticated sites, fairly similar to Brickset BrickOwl - a recent startup that has mainly newer manuals BrickSet - Same as the Offial LEGO Database, but might be easier to browse and find sets BrickPicker - Haven't really explored this unfortunately, but I am assuming it has a large number of sets, given the huge database You probably should get your instructions if you just type something along the lines of "lego <set number> instructions manual" into Google.

  16. Hello everyone, Just got into Lego based on two events, my son turning 5 and the movie. Basically in the past two months my son has built majority of the current City sets. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Happy building everyone.

  17. Saw someone post in the daily thread about emotional upset cashier and didn't want to reply there. I have a story I wanted to share and thought I start a new thread. If there is something similar already please MOD merge mine into it, thanks. My personal favorite of all time was when the XBox 360 first came out. I bought a Xbox 360 after the initial Xmas rush and wanted to get the highest quality cable for back then. I saw Circuit City had a Psyclone cable for the 360 at $25 which it normally sold for $60. So great I go to CC but they were all sold out, I was like "oh wait Best Buy price matches items I'll shoot over there. I go in, find they have the cable - sweet. I then go look at their policy which is HUNG up behind the cashier section. I read over the thing and see they will also give you 10% in the difference of the price match. I'm like NICE big score on savings here for a stupid cable, which is now worthless haha. Then the fun began. I bring the cable, CC flyer and my membership card up to the cashier. Who was a girl probably early 20s. I explain I want to price match the cable and show her the ad for CC which is $25. She straight up says to me "No you can not get that price, no way!" I said but your policy says you price match a competitor if they have an advertised price in a flyer, which I am showing you. She started moving around and frothing at the mouth, I was like what is going on. She then said, "Nope nope nope, no way can you get it for that price" She was getting loud so a manager came over before I even had to ask for one. I explained the situation to the manager he checked the flyer and made sure they were the same cable and said sure ring him up for the $25. The manager walked away and this girl went NUTS. She started hitting the desk, throwing her arms in the air, huffing and puffing very loudly. I was laughing so hard on the inside I think I almost peed my pants. So she finally rings it up and tells me it is $25 plus whatever the tax was back then 6% or 7% not sure. So my mind immediately adds it up and I was like "And that is with the 10% price match difference off?" I thought her head was going to explode! She gave me a "I will fning kill you look" and I will have to admit I was a little scared cause if she was this crazy over a price match, she might track me down and stab me. So I settled, paid, walked out and cried my eyes out from laughter. I will never forget and always hope they are as entertaining. On a side note B&****** cashiers have been getting me back all this month. Trying to use this damn kids club coupon, I hate it! Wish I never applied for that damn thing.

  18. Okay, I can be serious now and tackle the Bionicle/Hero Factory stuff. Ahem. I believe you have a mostly complete Corroder. Those red joints should belong to Nitroblast. The light blue action figure thingy is Jayko. The curved spines are from two Rahkshi, Panrahk and Vorahk. (The blue foot is this one.) There is at least the mask of Pohatu Nuva. And I spot Bohrok Lehvak.

  19. r2d2 can be found with some regularity at bn where you can get a better deal than this probably six times a year and for sure the day you sign up. when you sign up include your kids for the kids club 30% off email. for 2x vip, i'd be boring and buy 2 more GEs. walmart is out of stock on this one - at least you can't find it as a webpage anymore. its next modular in line to go. best chance at a nice cagr pop. we built this one last week and its a great looking set. you already have invested in it anyway so you can factor in the ease of just relisting something once it sells. then next month you can use vip points to pick up an r2d2 for yourself and get the minifigure. with any luck r2d2 or the red5 x-wing will be on sale too.

  20. I think it's a real wowser and believe it is supposed to be a Toys R Us exclusive here in the US. This is one of those where if you played the Star Wars games, you're going to want this set just for the three of the four minifigures exclusive to it. The item is currently available yet hanging around a worth close to or above retail on the secondary market.

  21. The yellow parts in picture 1 go to Anakin's Starfighter 7669 and the trans yellow parts probably go to the M-Tron parts in picture 2. The big curved piece in the last picture I believe goes to the original Millennium Falcon 7190. I won't even try to see what all the Bionicle looking stuff is.

  28. Sold a complete with box and manual 7153 jango Fett's slave I for $145 shipped on eBay. I bought it two weeks ago off of eBay for $72.22 shipped. I love quick turnarounds like that. Over the past two weeks I have sold off most of my sets that I completed from my latest bulk lot purchase. I paid $135 total for the lot, spent another $50 brick linking a few missing pieces and manuals, and so far the sets I have sold have brought in just under $800. Included were an unexpected gathering, Hagrids hut, the burrow, knight bus, dobbys release x 2, hogwarts 4867, forbidden forest, hogwarts castle, crazy scientist, werewolf x2, swamp creature, vampire hearse, freeing Dobby, fountain of youth, 31 CMFs that I sold as a lot for $75, a portion of diagon alley, trolley, and a few other small city sets. I still have a handful of Indiana jones sets and small seasonal sets to list. This has been one of the most fun bulk lots I have ever worked through, and the buy in was fantastic.

  29. I bought the Sea Cow for my sons 6th birthday. He just finished it tonight. He built 95% of it by himself! pretty impressive for a 6 year old, but he is a self appointed Master Builder. Haha! This is an incredible set! It's just huge and very detailed. I had to take a pic next to our other favorite set, the Haunted House, for size comparison.

  30. The only way Revan will be the same value as last year's Han is if they produce way more Revans and include him with other promos. A truly unique character doesn't compare to a common character with a hood on.

  33. Unless we virtually fall off the wagon and break the virtual seals on our virtual investments for our own virtual use. That would virtually suck.

  34. Don't forget though, sitting on $1000 in cash, there's always the temptation to spend it on hookers and blow. That's a big risk that the rest of us do not have to deal with.

  35. All entries have been posted in full under post #2 Here are some stats from across all 84 entries: 120 different sets were chosen Sets ranged across 26 different themes Most expensive set chosen was $433.35, the 10188 Death Star Least expensive was $5.60, the 30106 Ice Cream Stand 65 of the sets were chosen by only one player alone $84,000 was the total amount to play with across all players There was $1,833.44 cash remaining, including $1,000 from one player alone who wanted to take the cash only. Some more analysis provided these graphs: The Virtual mimicks the real, with Fire Brigade the most picked set. Three players going big on Desert Skiff push it to the top of the quantity list, and one player chose all 119 of the Desk set. Though a better measure than quantity of investment popularity is value invested, here's that: And here's the value by theme: Interesting stuff I'm sure you'll agree. Anything else that anyone wants to know?
