Guys, I'm choosing to divulge this info to you. This is the big one and can be a hit or miss. BTTF sets have begun leaking at LEGO Stores across the country. I was making a delivery at work this morning an was right by my local one, so I decided to drop in. I got there before the store opened. The store only had 12 in stock and I was able to take 4. I will be creating anothe threa very soon about MASSIVELY IMPORTANT info I have received about this whole reselling issue. Let me tell you though, it is not good. The "Golden Age" of reselling LEGO has officially come to a close. More on that soon. Also, the LEGO stores have the Fall Scene polybag in stock. This is not "officially" being sold yet by LEGO on LEGO Shop at Home. Finally, the new LEGO Architecture Studios set is in stock at the stores but not out on display yet. However, the barcode a are in the system and they scan so if you ask for them, they can sell them to you. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill.

This time I'd like to report it. Unfortunately, ebay's reasons to give for reporting an item don't include "suspicious." So I thought I'd ask you guys how you might report it. This thread might not go anywhere, but I hope it does, for several reasons. First and foremost, we know the market. Our experience gives us an edge in sniffing out this bullsh*t, probably making us more qualified than ebay. I think it might be our responsibility to point these out. Why should we bother? Sure, it sucks for the scammed buyer, but why would we inform him with knowledge only experience has taught us? Well, scams are bad for business. Everyone'e business. Scams result in decreased market values, artificial supply expectations, and pissed off customers. It's time to nip this in the bud before it gunks up the whole market. So. What do we do?

I've been tracking a bulk lot from an estate sale in PA on ebay but decided not to buy it and wanted to give someone here the chance: it includes (at least) a partial UCS Star Wars Falcon but the seller doesn't seem to know enough to tell how complete it is. I just checked the rebrickable link and it only found about 66% of the pieces in one place. usually means it has some more unique pieces. Honestly I doubt it would be worth it. I might jsut try to sell it to somebody for $30 depending on what you had into it.

It may go up with the new movies, but the PPR for SW sets is actually going down. Just look at the new Summer 2013 SW sets: Jedi Defender Class, with 935 or so pieces for $90; and Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, with 271 pieces for $20. Maybe Lego is just trying to keep sails from dipping to far by making the sets more attractive to us, before the movie with all its new material hits.

Weatherto seems to be a lot less popular and was also produced in way more quantities than the Orc Forge probably was. The Ringwraiths are a nice draw, but ultimately I think the Orc Forge will outperform it.

I actually had exactly the opposite conversation with a LS manager - when asked if they discounted anything, she said rarely, but only when Corporate tells them (like the Monster Fighters discounted 20% right now). I asked if they ever discount retired sets (I had just bought Sungnyemun from them), and she said they never discount retired sets, that instead they would rather just sit on them and wait for them to sell at retail. I asked if she could entertain an offer on the remaining Sungnyemuns and she said no. Many on here have reported "insider information" from LS employees that has turned out to be very wrong, so NEVER make a purchasing decision based on their EOL feedback. Also, people usually learn that something is retired by its status on S@H - if it's marked retired or the listing is removed, it's retired. Unfortunately, that means you can't buy it. VIP points is a free promotion that anyone can sign up for. In essence, you get one point for every dollar you purchase, and you can redeem 20 points for $1 in store credit.

Not the best SB set, but this bundle is cheaper than buying Glove World by itself. SB Mad Libs seems like a decent bonus to throw in when listing SB sets. After reading that detailed review and seeing those great side by side comparisons, I think the official set looks a lot better than the original cuusoo. Definitely plan on hitting up my lego store if they have it.

The Orc forge will do really well but, I am curious to see which set will do better.....orc forge or weathertop? Attack on weathertop sold out without warning at LEGO Shop at Home, was not bought back for sale Walmart, Target, etc (as far as I know) and was already clearanced out at many stores. I think many investers were caught off guard with the Aowt sellout. Orc forge had the retiring soon tag, and target.com bought a warehouse full of them back in stock.

Whew, lots of questions here. Start at the top: 1. When figuring out where to price your figs, ALWAYS look at the sold prices, not the list prices. You may be seeing significant differences in list prices between the two portals because listings on BL can remain a lot longer than listings on eBay. On eBay, I believe the longest a BIN listing can run is 30 days, so there's more incentive to set a reasonable price. Anything will sell if it's priced correctly, even if there's 250 other listings of the same fig. 2. Sell whole used sets w/ minifigs, or part out figs and sell sets separately - like everything, it depends. Unless you have some killer, unique figs in some of these, I don't know if it's worth your time to part them out from your set. 3. Bricklink - People buy from Bricklink all the time, and these sets are new enough that there should be some sold listings on the figs. I just made a BL purchase last night! Signing up for a store is free, so there's no risk there. I would say that you will likely get a sale faster on eBay, but it depends on how competitively you price your listings. 4. Random figs - bulk or part out? If there are any special or even decent figs, take these out and sell them separately. These would include troops of any kind and/or licensed figs of any kind. You could even consider listing any fig with significant detailed printing if you wanted to spend the time. I would consider selling the rest of the random figs in bulk. 3. Desirability of bulk lots - Bulk lots do often sell, but you will likely get more return on your bulk lots by parting them out. The downside to this is it will take a LOT more time to post these lots, and a LOT more time to sell these lots. If you've got the time, then consider parting out your bulk lots by color/brick type. Some members who do this often and successfully do this in front of the TV as part of their before-bed relaxation routine... Hope this helps a little-

Here's a quick list of the sets and their values from BP's used prices: It looks like you paid near retail for this lot, so it could be a lot worse, and you may do okay once the bulk piece lot and stray minifigs are sold. The Millennium Falcon will have some room to move after retirement so if you can wait, that may be your saving grace for the lot.

Here is the problem, when someone post a listing like this saying "this is a scam", someone here scoops it up! Its too easy to just claim ingonrance if someone calls you up to investigate. I have seen with my own eyes numerous times members buy from known dropscammers. They don't care how it was purchased, they got a hell of a deal on a lego set. I'm seriously gonna start calling people out on this. There is no way a member here can can buy from a scammer like this and say "they didn't know".

This thread is for my complaining.

I make multiple purchases per day, which means I'd have to leave feedback on multiple items per day on different sites. I sell full-time and already spend over 40 hours per week doing so. I'm not going to waste even one second of my precious time on a daily monotonous task like that. I'll leave leaving feedback to the average buyer who makes only one or two purchases per week.

I'm just glad they do exclusive minifigures instead of 800 pc exclusive sets. I'm not a minifig collector, so I don't feel left out. If they released a comic con exclusive Mos Eisley cantina, I'd be pissed. But overall, I hate exclusives and limited editions. Not to say I hate the people who have them, though. But come on, you're already at the coolest convention on Earth. You really need something else I don't have? :)
