  1. I've always enjoyed Lego, and I have some great memories playing with them as a kid. However, as so many others have said, you grow out of them... at least for a while. I have a daughter now, and she really loves Lego Friends. On a recent trip, I thought it'd be fun to pick up one of the Star Wars kits. Well, to make a long story short, that was the start of the slippery slope. I've now built up a collection of 19 Star Wars sets, both to collect and as investments. I've involved my wife as well. She loves Minifigs, and has already complete sets of two series. This has become a family hobby; and isn't that the best way to go about this? As investments go, I'm very new to the Lego world. I had no idea that there was a market. With the BrickFolio and all of the tools to track prices, this site is an absolute must for investors. I also hope to learn from the community at large. Cheers

  2. I'm sure it sold for quite a bit more than I can afford. I'm sure it sold for more than 7 figures...

  3. Just read this article on Bricket. Basically, the team behind Brickipedia have moved the project to a new platform using this new URL. http://en.brickimedia.org/ It is still very much under construction so expect long load times for a while until things get sorted. I can say the new look is appealing, simpler, and less cluttered than the original which will still be available for use since they can't delete the old website out right. If anything the new Brickimedia works & looks much like Wikipedia only more colorful and less monotone. Oh and no more ads.

  5. Not to nitpick, but Arkham is part of the DC Universe.

  6. I honestly wish they would tie down Creator to some recurring minfig characters. While the idea is to be able to build and rebuild and change your set into different things (really emphasizing the core of LEGO as a product), I don't think that means they have to leave the theme without some pillars. I think they'd do a lot better investment wise if they got a cool cast of minifigs of their own.

  7. Honestly I don't think Chima has anywhere near the cool factor of Ninjago. Chima just seems to be a lot of animal minifigs stuffed into vehicles. The great thing about Ninjago is that the minifigures are strong on their own. They are individualized and carry a ton of character even when they're off the spinner, and are tied to very iconic pearl gold weapons and accessories. The Chima minifigures by comparison just blend into one another when they're off the Speedorz. They need more personality and more unique variations with different silhouettes. The Speedorz specifically are, I don't know, Beyblade-ish. I think the lack of silly things like rip cords are what made people like the simple and heavy Ninjago spinners (not to mention they have so many awesome MOC applications where as a Speedor has little to none). I could just be the negative nancy here, but that's my two cents. I guess we'll see when the show starts if we have another Ninjago-type on our hands.

  8. While I like the AA the best as far as looks and playability, I think the Unimog will do the best in the long term. Only problem in the States is that we hardly know what the thing is. I had to look it up when it came out. Everybody that's into comics knows what Arkham is.

  9. 1-Batman Arkham Asylum, just check the price on the 2006 Lego & Tru Exclusive one that was $79.99, this set will be a Gold Mine when Retired in 2015, thats when Lego has the marvel License for. "Get as many as you can you will make lots of money on this one." 2-Technics Unimog, Lego and Tru Exclusive, should retire end of the year, but Toys R us has went from $209 last year to $229.99 now on there website, but still $199.99 at Lego. 3-As for the Fire Brigade its done this year and hopefully it will bring in a good profit for people who have some.

  10. I love the Mercedes licensing of the Unimog, and the fact that it's a big Technic set. AA should do well, but it's a repeat so there's some risk there. Fire Brigade will likely do well, but how many of these are available? Fire Brigade was released a full two years before Unimog so there's a good chance more have been produced. I like all three, though. I just like Unimog the best of the three...

  11. For $110 its a great buy, I am putting at least $1500 in these I have 12 already and I have a few more $20 coupons to get them for about $106 each which I will be getting 2 more Saturday, I think these will do way better than the Sopwith Camel, just check ebay for completed auctions on the old Camel, compared to the Volkswagen Beetle. I think $100 profit on the Camper once retired. Get some before they are gone. The Box art alone is what helps them sell. Ed

  12. I want more of them, but I can hold off for more than a $9 discount, I believe Amazon had them cheaper a week or so ago, but I missed it.

  16. Here's another amazing castle MOC from Brickshow. It is one of the best castle MOC's I've ever seen. It was displayed at Brickfair in VA last year, quite an epic layout!
