  1. I built Pooh. I parted out the minifigs so the set was basically free, but it seems overpriced at $99 for what you get. The instruction book is done nicely with the classic Pooh illustrative motif, although it doesn’t come bagged and mine was ripped. Mix of printed elements and stickers. My main issue is more with Lego in general but this set maybe where they jumped the shark. It used to be neat to build a set with mostly square bricks and see the various building techniques used to make all kind of shapes and nice finished products. This set uses so many specialized elements some larger with only one point of attachment that it just seems too easy to get the end product. It also has one baffling part that I went and watched some live builds to see what others opinions were. If they give R2 a total redesign I think my point will be very evident in that set.
  2. Watched Tombstone last weekend. I haven't seen it in a long time. Now I need a t-shirt with Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday and a text "I'm your Huckleberry"
  3. Godzilla vs Kong . Turn off your brain, crack open a cold one and enjoy lizard vs ape
  4. Thanks, I hate it. Please read a spreadsheet to me while the camera pans around for literally no reason bonus points for ugly glasses and "razor quest"
  5. A Target in WA state accidentally put one of the 2021 Speed Champions sets on the shelf but it is street dated to 8/1/2021. Oops.
  6. Got around to finishing this. What a classic. The red brown pieces though are painfully brittle. I got some replacements from Lego though.
  7. Lol he thinks stuff is retiring. He's just blind guessing. Skipped through it in 10 secs to see he was wrong on a bunch of sets.
  8. Always remember during Covid:
  9. No one can predict the future, but this set probably won't give you great returns. D-O 75278 has been on sale fairly constantly at 20% off, was clearanced at multiple retailers with deep discounts, and has been a slow mover off LEGO Store Shelves. While I suspect this set will be done by the end of the year, it's not exactly a strong performer - And if you are dipping your toes in the LEGO investing waters, you probably could do much better with your set choice - Unless you are getting this at an extremely deep discount. So in short, yes I believe this set will be retiring soon, but in long - It might not be the best investing target. Check out the "What Sets to Invest in Thread" for some deeper dives and more information.
  10. Promo bricks has listed Speed Champions sets for 2021 (unconfirmed). Coming out summer 2021. https://www.promobricks.de/lego-speed-champions-2021/117534/ 76900 Koenigsegg Jesko - 280 pieces, EUR 19.99 76901 Toyota GR Supra - 299 pieces, EUR 19.99 76902 McLaren Elva - 263 pieces, EUR 19.99 76903 Chevrolet Corvette C8-R & 1968 Corvette C3 - 512 pieces, EUR 39.99 76904 Mopar Dodge/SRT top fuel dragster & '70 Dodge Challenger - 627 pieces, EUR 59.99 76905: Unknown set & piece count, EUR 49.99 I hope the '70 Dodge Challenger is a Funny Car to go with the Top Fuel Dragster. And I really hope the USA prices are the same as European.

I just got off with CS and they said it was a Paypal pre-authorization issue. She took a different form of payment and said they will ship out....we'll see. Order status on LEGO shows Carnage again and is in process....
  16. I agree about the emphasis on specialized pieces. The most enjoyable builds remain the ones where stacking bricks is the majority of the process.
  17. thanks for sharing...maybe LEGO thought this might be an entry to LEGO for many Pooh collectors and didn't want them to get over-whelmed build-wise. But I agree, the trend in recent past years (2018-2020) have been more intricate and creative build techniques...but many of the 2021 sets seem to focus on scaled down and "easier build" options (see Star Wars, harry Potter, etc). Maybe LEGO saw a new wave of LEGO fans from Covid and their PR/MArketing told them folks want easier builds...I picked some big box sets this past year from sellers who never completed the sets (over half still in sealed bags).

  20. Don't forget the most important thing: Affiliate links in the description to help you buy these before they retire.
  21. I enjoyed this week's , a lot seem to be happening ( maybe a tad too much ), but a good one never the less
  22. Canceling Coca Cola for caving to cancel culture.... some GOP congressmen seem really confused https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/546390-some-georgia-gop-legislators-want-coca-cola-products-removed-from I like to think I hold more Republican values than Democrat...so it's these examples of idiocy that really make me wonder.

  26. I've said it before but if “they” want people to use cryptocurrencies they have to make it easier. This process is so dumb and restrictive. Open Bitforex account, transfer Bitcoin, convert Bitcoin to USDT, buy OMI, wait for confirmation, move to a wallet. Seriously? WTH? I can physically buy a car as an investment faster than this clown show.
  27. This week's episode: Finding Zemo And as an added bonus, minimal John Walker screen time.
  28. After @cladner mentioned 75254 retired in SAH Oz, had a look for other retired sets and it seems 75251: Darth Vader's Castle has also retired there.

  35. On Friday I gave myself a mild concussion hitting my head on the back hatch latch "tooth" on my new C-Max while loading my car at Meijer. Notably the hatch opens up to a perfect height, but I started closing it but then realized I wanted another bag to put it the side for the Lego I was about to pick up there, so it was 4-5 inches lower than usual. I grabbed the bag and backed up fast and wham, knocked the sunglasses off my face and down I went. I didn't lose consciousness, at least, and luckily I had JUST bought Tylenol. On the plus side I managed to make it home with the Lego I ordered for store pickup with a 30% off toys coupon I got in the mail.
