  1. Check out the Great Conjunction if you're able to…very cool celestial event. Jupiter and Saturn haven't been this close since 1620, during Galileo's lifetime. That said, they're still over 450 million miles apart. Whoa!

  2. Saw this on Craigslist 12 mins after seller posted. No pics posted in the ad, but the seller told me via text that the sets are complete with manuals, no boxes. I've got some Legos for sale. Buy 'em all for $35. Or see individual prices below. Comes with all instruction manuals. $50 - Harry Potter Great Hall $5 - Harry Potter with Owl on Platform to school $5 - Lego City Hot Dog Stand $10 - Lego City Arctic Ice Crawler I don't know what kind of math (or meth) he was doing, but I picked them all up for $35. Dude turned out to be a nice guy. I also bought a couple of Wii games from him for $15 for my kids and he threw in a third game for free.

  3. Finally cracked open the seals on the 10193 Medieval Market Village I bought on EBay several years ago. Built it and now working on "winterizing" the set so it can go under the tree. As this was the first time I built a 10yr old set "fresh from the factory", a couple of observations: - 2010 Reddish Brown SUCKS. Lots of cracking noises when placing bricks. One rounded window frame broke part of the bottom antistuds off (luckily these are plentiful available) - on first use ever! - Numbered bags for large sets are such a help. I had to dump 1600+ bricks on a table and do a lot of searching, as this set has no numbered bags. - Instructions really fail in color recognition. It was often hard to distinguish Black, DBG and LBG, as well as Tan vs Pearl Gold vs Pink, to the point that at the end I had to break down the chimney on the first house because I had used an LBG 1x4 plate instead of a DBG 1x4. - The big tree build is finnicky. Especially when trying to add the white flowers/blossoms to the tree. That said, the set is really solid and once I do my winterization I think it'll look great in my Winter Village.

  13. LEGO needs to upgrade and re-lease this set as Harry Potter Hogsmeade (then no "winterizing" needed)

  20. Amen. It's just really refreshing to have female characters who DON'T function as eye candy, a love interest 20 years younger than the male lead, a token diversity squad member, or a damsel in distress needing to be saved.

  22. I have and actually changed up my store to work better for it. Then nothing happened. I guess I'll just have to keep watching and waiting for the day when BL becomes more well known and penetrate outside the actual Lego community. I mean would it hurt to run a Facebook, twitter, reddit, etc... advertisement? I don't think so. In the end, I still stand by my feelings that they royally missed the boat for this year in terms of expanding exposure.

  24. Hi everyone, I resell mostly SW sets (because it's the area I know most about) as a hobby. I use the income to fund my own lego purchases. I also design mocs for fun. Been checking out Brickpicker for a long time and while I'm not at the level of volume or dedication as many of you I do my best to make the most level headed decisions about my purchases - for resale that is - for personal use all logic is out the window! Glad to be here and to continue to learn the best methods to increase my margins!

  26. Google is not interesting in giving the best or most accurate search result. The highest revenue producing result is what they give us. I wouldn't want Lego directing people to BL. Can still find deals on there. Once the masses invade that will be over. I really don't sell much there though. May not matter, grandma & soccer moms could never navigate BL in it's current state.

  28. They run their in-store inventory with an assortment system. One item code/shelf slot for small Friends sets, one for small city sets, one for Star Wars Black series, etc. They don't always individually track Lego inventory by UPC.

  31. I had an issue that recently cleared up on it's own. I was able to get a hold of them. If you go to seller hub and click the Payments tab there is a floating help navigation tile with a phone icon. It's not always enabled but if you catch it during the day you can ask for them to call you. Wait time is usually 2 hours and from my experience it's more like 4 hours. Keep trying throughout the day - I think the service goes dark if the call volume gets too high.

  37. I was mostly oblivious to the attack until now. It's baffling to me that Solarwinds got hacked, had code elevated to release and no one noticed. We have code line analysis and jar analysis that is run before going to a QA environment. Then the build and deploy to production blocks your push if a single character was modified up to 2 weeks before production. We have to get director approval if even a small property file change needs to be made at that time. I work for a non-tech based company. I'm guessing we are going to start seeing more aggressive security scrutiny on third party software at a corporate level anyway. With a security breach this bad I can't imagine how difficult it is to clean up. How do you trace all the possible locations they can embed new backdoors, understand the data that was compromised, or servers that may be impacted. All it takes is access to a random employee's computer to gain access to the network again Best of luck @exciter1

  38. We don’t know when in the timeline the ending of Rebels takes place. Filoni has even said that things aren’t necessarily in order. At the end of Rebels, Ahsoka is white-rob clad. She wasn’t there yet in Mando. I suspect she’s still hunting for Thrawn right now. Thrawn has probably been in contact now, and she’s gotten wind of that. But doesn’t know where he is. Once she finds Thrawn’s location, that’s when she recruits Sabine (ending of Rebels) to go after Ezra.

  42. My advice: send one more email expressing your sympathy with his situation but that there is nothing you can do. He can pay the import fees or refuse delivery, and you will refund once the package is back to you (with all the deductions yada yada). Then stop responding. The more you engage, the more he will try to make this your problem.

  44. Ask them to confirm the condition of the package, and that the item arrived in good shape. Get that in writing before you explain to them that you aren't responsible for import fees.

  45. I love how people suggested we should be running a dual tracking system. I'm just curious, not for tax purposes, but this site was how I was tracking what sets I owned and how many of them I had if more than one. I have since moved to an excel spreadsheet and inventoried a bunch of rubber maids and boxes full of stuff; but I did have all my dates and purchases prices stored here. I don't have receipts lying around from 10 years ago except for a few types of items like my homes, automobiles and jewelry. I'm a selective collector not an investor, the site attracted me because I could quickly update purchases. Plus I actually found sets from my childhood. Remember when firemen had multiple swivels on their arms and you built there body from 2x2 blocks? I found that and a few others in the attic. The site was useful to show me that I was missing a lot of pieces if I wanted to make it complete.

  47. Went to Yosemite on Saturday. Here's of pic of me and the kids in Yosemite Valley with El Capitan on the left and Half Dome all the way in the back. I haven't been back in 20+ years and it was our kids' first time. We had a great time hiking a few trails. The air quality wasn't great, but it wasn't too bad either. We also got to see a couple of bears (from far away), and one even climbed up a tree! We were surprised at how fast and easy it did it.
