One more build by me. A few months ago I stumbled upon some digital renderings made by Reddit user u/brxstr of a Back-to-the-Future DMC DeLorean, which looked fantastic. He/she had (has?) the Stud.io file available on Rebrickable.com, so I downloaded it and planned to build it. In doing my due diligence I found out that the model was originally designed by user Troelskf on Brickshelf, so I want to make sure (s)he gets credit as well. I ended up redoing large parts of the design for several reasons: Part availability and cost. Several parts were very expensive (the F40 windscreen for example) so I came up with alternative solutions for those. Stability and Buildability. As the design has never been built IRL, certain parts of the design looked great in Stud.io, but did not work in the brick. For example, the click hinges for the shaping on the back were originally positioned right in between two clicks, which meant there was an ugly gap. The doors were so flimsy in their original design, they would fall apart when touched lightly. Operability. The doors were not opening in the original design, as there was no tolerance for the swing movement (they looked great opened and closed, but would have to be removed and reassembled to change them from opened to closed. The lid for Mr Fusion could not be opened for similar reasons. Improved looks. I completely redesigned the dashboard, adding more and more detailed instrumentation. I changed the gear lever and created a different flux capacitor design. I modified the hose work around the engine, and redesigned the back section to make it look more like the BttF version, including custom license plate. Generating instructions. The original file was a purely digital design, with no consideration for building the set with real bricks. I spent many hours redesigning the build sequence and creating detailed, step by step instructions. They are almost complete (Isn't it wonderful that if you move a part from one step to another in Stud.io, it decides to undo all the call-outs in the instructions which in turn leads to page layouts resetting?). I still have one change to make but then the 300+ page instructions are ready. Here is the final product. Hope you like it. More pictures in my Flickr album (https://www.flickr.com/photos/129210197@N05/with/50605610828/). Total cost was ~$200 (US), but I had most of the common parts on hand. Would likely be closer to $300 if all 1600+ parts had to be purchased.
  14. Well... I thought it was going to be hard to get rid of the 300 ship and a bottles I bought earlier this year off Amazon. Half of them arrived at Amazon today and evaporated. Made 30$ a set. I'll take it.

Just for reference, might not the best place to post this. I ordered the mini figure box. It came in the Lego shipping box, which is sealed (looks like original tape, not resealed). I opened it up and the inner box is not sealed. There is no tape or whatsoever and you can pop it open and change it into store display mode.
  16. Tree house is not retiring and as an ideas set some resellers have been spooked by remakes. I'm buying tantive if I want it now though. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NDYHY8S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

  28. Sorry if it's a repost: LEGO Minifigures DC Super Heroes Series 71026 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BQWCBG3/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 They got rid of the $22 coupon and just took the price off the item directly and then some by a few bucks.
  29. Tokyo & Trafalgar Square are also 20% off. It looks like these are sticking around another year though.
  30. 10198 was trending 2-3x original price until 75244 came out. As is typical, with each remake the older one takes a hit. Between the two, this one is a better rendition of the set. Just look at the translucent cockpit pieces of 10198. LEGO has never really figured out how to print white on clear LEGO. The true UCS Tantive IV has maintained it value for the most part. But it is not a playset like 10198 and 75244 are. This is a decent comparison video on them:
  31. It doesn't help valuations that when you pull up that item, it states: There is a newer model of this item: LEGO Star Wars: A New Hope 75244 Tantive IV Building Kit (1768 Pieces) $159.99 (859) In Stock.
  32. Ok. Daddy's Girl is likely a drop-shipper. I have no doubt the transaction will work out fine for you. Various Daddy's Girl usernames/accounts have been banned on eBay and Bricklink due to harrassing sellers and violating policies. So, that is probably why there is something weird happening with the shipping here. Source: Sold to "Daddy's Girl" several times a few years ago.

Taskmaster’s Ambush - 77905 back at LegoLand Florida
  34. It's been years since I researched the issue, but, as I recall, there was something in the IRS rules that limited the definition of the types of transactions that qualify for the capital gains in a way that does not mesh with the sale of Lego. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how you view or characterize the transaction...it only matters how the IRS categorizes it.

If the box says limited, they'll probably be limited. "Sold Out" on LEGO Shop at Home is a good sign. As for Amazon this will eventually hit 250-300 IF they let us list it and don't limit the price. We might need an alternate listing at some point.

already seeing negative reviews on amazon from pi$$ed off folks who missed out. one brave QFLL on amazon has it listed for $95 and change. i'm thinking ebay international sales are the way to avoid hate.

I don't think anyone has received theirs yet. So far only LLDC and round 1 Amazon (from pics above) have confirmed SDCC box art. I would be surprised if they actually had 2 different box arts but based on the lego listing images it's possible they did
