Bought I think almost the entire LOTR & Hobbit collection used with box and manuals 100% complete (verified) ... $1350 does come with a sealed Uruk Hai which I might flip for $70 ... so net cost $1280

Just a heads up. This is the second time Target has run this sale on the Hidden Side Train ($60) in just over a month. Last time the sale lasted nearly two weeks.

I feel you! My 6 mo old has helped sourcing tremendously, scrolling on the phone feeding him keeps me awake. My only problem is I forget what I order and when stuff shows up my husband asks if I order it and the answer is usually, and honestly, “I don’t know”.

Finished this up last week. Its a really nice set with some interesting building techniques. I bought the set for the bookshop - my parents wrote children's books when I was a kid and it reminds me of the independent bookshops we used to visit for their presentations, but honestly I liked the house build more. I know this has received criticism for being small, etc, but the details are really nice. I built the Grand Emporium a few months ago and there is a definitely a difference in style between the earlier modulars and the trend of newer ones, but not a bad one in my opinion. I do agree that LEGO missed a great opportunity to create more clever book titles like they did with the Palace Cinema movie posters, and I feel like they could have tossed in a couple more leaf elements for the tree, but overall I think its a really great set!

Sounds like a great investment. Going to cash out my 401k and go all-in on this set. Also the set is $5 cheaper at Walmart.

Good investment? No idea. But as cool as the final product looks for these I will not be buying for personal use. I would not enjoy building these, and a fun build is the primary reason I enjoy Lego. This is essentially Lego paint by numbers. No thanks - not for me, especially not at that price point.

Between retiring sets, current sets, and new releases, covid should be affecting current sets the most. If a set was going to retire soon anyway TLG probably isn't going to use their currently-limited production to pump out another batch just because a previous final batch may not have made it out before the virus hit. On the other end of the spectrum, new sets are probably getting priority right now for production. So that leaves current sets kind of in limbo with limited supply available, but retiring and new sets largely unaffected. Obviously this is all just my opinion but I'm personally not changing any of my plans in regards to retiring-soon sets because of the virus.

i can imagine - since Snowspeeder and Ywing had just 1.5 years production...

so how I read that is...resellers w/ stock in hand will be positioned rather nicely for local (inperson) sales when the time sensitive Christmas crunch inevitably occurs . Not only would buyers be guaranteed getting the product but also have assurances on box quality for gifting. so the take home lesson is to stock up now before supply chain AND SHIPPING ISSUES delay fall purchases.

You are correct, 75244 is not UCS, but it was released on the UCS schedule - May 2019.

Will the Michael's case fit Batman minifigures? The mermaid Batman was the tightest squeeze so far and had to go without a base plate. The rest have plenty of space.
