  17. They have had a policy against realistic violence pretty much since the beginning. The original 375 Yellow Castle was yellow because they didn't want kids building tanks out of grey bricks. They have towed the line a few times with marvel/star wars but it has always been in a younger fantasy way. We will most likely never see WW1/WW2/Modern Warfare sets from LEGO....hence companies like Brick Arms....

  18. I'll pay the extra 10 on each to avoid the crowds, wild goose chases and what not. Not everyone is seeing these at their local stores. Other thing to keep in mind... is just a matter of time before the other retailers price them to sell too. So buy accordingly.

  32. Cobi (made in Poland) actually produces some very nice WW2 fighters/bombers and iconic WW2 battleships -- not UCS size or level of detail, but still quite detailed and to scale (the battleship sets are usually 2000+ pieces). The bricks themselves are very well-made with nice clutch and some unique shapes. Building technique can involve a lot of old-school plate-by-plate layering and instructions can be denser than current Lego. I've made a couple of the WW2 planes and they're certainly good enough for display (not really meant for play). They are priced very reasonably based on set size -- try a P-51 from Amazon for ~$30 if you want to get a feel for the brand.

  34. Called my store they said they did not know how many batmobiles they have they need to unbox and they said they came in today but not many of the promo at all. wonder how limited it is. to order online or to go to the mall at 5 am. If order on line what if it is crushed. choices. Wonder if very limited if the promo can be worth $100-$200 probably not that limited but can dream I suppose. the promo is more exciting to me than the batmobile itself.

  37. My strategy is sell a few on offer up between $280 - 300. It should sell in my market this close to Christmas. I bank $50 a set + promos + points. Buyer gets a hot set for $50 off. Win Win. And if they don't sell, I'll keep them in "cold storage."

  39. Correct. There are other ways to make money with LEGO than just throwing stock into cold storage.
