I would be happy with the scraps that we get from those who have access to inside info about retirement dates. That information is hard to come by and highly valuable for obvious reasons so it is not surprising that the lucky few are not champing at the bit to throw it out for all to see. Although there is a good spirit of sharing on this board, there are limits.

Very much agree on the round ports, they look very out of place somehow. Maybe because of familiarity. Not sure. One thing to consider when New Star Wars movies are released. Since the Hasbro, Hot Toys, Hot Wheels, Lego, etc.toys leak LONG before the film comes out, the first wave of any release is often non-spoiler heavy. That's ONE contributing factor to getting re-hashes, or things you already know about. Y-Wing, A-Wing, Kylo's shuttle, the Falcon, etc. If there's something new, original, or shocking design stuff in the film, you're probably not going to see it till Wave 2, 3, etc. On the rare occasion you do see a NEW vehicle (Like the desert speeders) then its PROBABLY already in the trailer. (which it was) If in Ep 9 the Emperor has spinning dark side force blades for arms and light sabers coming out of his pants, they wouldn't want to put THAT toy in Wave 1. (much to our dismay) The amount of coordination to make sure there's a progression in plot reveal across toy-lines and in trailer timing is pretty impressive. I'd provide examples, but I'm fairly sure I'm right, so i won't bother And yes they sometimes get it way wrong. IE: Kylo Shuttle 1's wings, the AT-ST Heavy Crawler, Snow Speeder cut from the film, etc.

I'm holding off buying an Assembly Square (for my personal build collection). Has only been marked down once in Canada since release....TRU 50% off last Christmas. Just want it to retire so I can get it for at least 20% off.

I remember when I was told by a Lego Rep that the T1 Camper was retiring... 4 years ago.

Conversely, my 5 year old couldn't be more excited about those hoth sets and the endor set because he gets to fire missiles at real targets and blow things up. So it's just possible we're not the target market.

I don't actually think anyone here really knows what will happen in the next 5-6 months. Certain sets will retire as expected, a few will probably surprisingly disappear, and others will stick around. Happens every year.

Is CC really retiring so soon, such a poor seller? It looks better than AoH but then that not difficult. How about Taj Mahal, is that a short re-release or in for the long run?

some good riddles in there, almost magical... Sadly few of them got tagged retired and still are available today so not sure it really matters much anymore. Same with some of the smaller sets that I didn't post about. Unfortunately production is down to a science now and batches went very late last year and almost hit the market immediately unlike in years past where they would take a few weeks to hit. If you follow it enough you can tell when they are getting replenished just by the big sites going oos briefly. In the past you had a window of opportunity there. Now that next batch can hit a week later.

Judging by their size, I would guess the elves would be in the same package, but they are numbered separately so who knows. I'm not remembering if the dual packs in the past (Slimer/Venkmen, etc.) were each numbered or if the set as a whole was as far as the BHz line was concerned.
