  1. CL $300 each. These popped up Sunday, I thought it was a scam but he messaged me back. Ad had been up an hour. I was not his first message but he said I was first person to offer to buy all 3 so they were mine (no takers on ssd). He wanted to wait for the snow to melt so I had to sweat for two days wondering if I would really get these. He met me at a movie theater 5 minutes from my office this morning. Looks like first bag of MILF was started rest is bagged. SSD box open but inner box sealed. 10143 box still sealed. I can't believe it.

  3. Just had a minor Christmas miracle. Sold a Batman Scuttler last month and suddenly got a return request today with a raving all caps message saying he was reporting me, was furious, that the box was a mess and looked "like it had been through a war". And that was just the reason for return! All of which is laughable as I always send out pristine sets. I then saw he left my first ever negative review, warning others to never do business with me and that I was not to be trusted, blah blah blah. So I issued the return mailing label, politely asked the buyer for the feedback to be removed (yeah right) and asked Amazon to remove it even though they say they only do so if there is vulgarity or personal info included. The automatic response was that the feedback was fine as per Amazon policy but surprise surprise when an actual human looked at it they agreed to do so!!!! I don't even want to ask for anything for Christmas after that luck. Up yours moron!
  4. pre ordered 2 x 80101 chinese new year and 2 x 80102 dragon dance using my resources in Asia ??
  5. if anyone cares 40358 on target.com is $14.99, there is a cartwheel coupon you can load to your wallet for an extra 20% off, choose store pickup and your pre tax oop total will be $11.99
  6. My 75119 Jyn Erso Buildables were real winners, that set is not a turkey, because I bought 30 of them for $2 each, and sold the lot for $200 after shipping and fees. Everyone agree that 75119 is a winner?
  7. Get your mickey and Minnie while you can
  8. We have another thread for the last 3 pages.
  9. MSRP is the least arbitrary starting point since that is literally what the set starts at. I don't know what other price the bulk of purchases are occurring at since there are thousands of reference points. There's only one MSRP.
  10. Container Yard back in stock at Target.....for now https://www.target.com/p/lego-174-technic-container-yard-42062/-/A-52106967
  11. My point , however many pages ago, says we need to look at actual pricing and widely available pricing. ie: year long 20% off. Of course we aren't going to use an 80% off price point like 75119, to make any rational decision about a set because a few people got in at that level.

need to setup a cartwheel account. Once in cartwheel, search LEGO. add offer to 'my list', then go back to target.com to place the order. Coupon should show in cart before checkout.
  15. All the recent lots I have seen have multiple pet shops & palace cinemas. Hopefully that drove people away from BB and DO.
  16. That list reads like a load of sets many here wish they had never bought ?

  21. I preordered through my friend and his educational institute had relationship with lego china. Sorry I don't know all those details other than the local msrp and final cost on my side. At this moment, I don't believe you can either buy them online or in BM store
  22. $6000 is not worth it . $4000 - $4800 yes . Considering it’s a bulk lot, there has to be some steep discounting if picking everything in one go.

buy 4 and the $10 GC offer is added on. Brings the total down to about 50% off.
  26. So lazy right, didn't even bother using the lot calculator. Literally took 90 seconds to punch these in and get $7000 as the lot price. * there was no price for the Simpsons and Disney minifig case.

  29. Why let the market determine the value of a set while in production when you can use the fantasy number that isn’t even used by Walmart in most brand new sets? Let’s use the arbitrary number set by LEGO and just move this conversation to the bubble thread, because LEGO investing is clearly over [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app
  30. It would, if there weren't episodes of RRP being too high at release, forcing retailers to discount immediately to generate sales. There have been many sets released, where people use the phrase "That's not a $60 set" or "That's more like a $** set". So, when the adjustment comes at the retail level to sell more, discounts pop up. It's similar to car manufacturers having to offer huge discounts on certain models because no one is willing to pay MSRP. I get it's easier to compare sets when using original retail pricing, but it's much more complicated.
  31. Last week, a few people discussed the condition of sets coming from Blinq. I had two Classic Batman Bat Caves delivered yesterday. One had minor shelf e\wear but the other definitely had been resealed on one side. The seals were "cloudy" and, once you tried to peel them open, did not want to come off clean, like they had been glued. Unfortunately, I had these delivered to my store and I was on my way to a party when they were delivered so I didn't have a chance to open the box to see what I would find. If I open the one box and the contents isn't like new, I'll repost. This isn't a ***** or anything but rather passing on a little info for those that may want to order from Blinq in the future.
  32. Well for one thing, all post offices were closed on 12/5 for Bush’s funeral. eBay likes for sellers to handle situations like this, which really shows how much responsibility they like to take in these matters. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app
  33. As I mentioned before, the whole debate about past or future "winners" and "losers" becomes completely random and pointless if everybody bases his assessment on his personal (done or anticipated) buy-in... ...To be illustrated by this fictional example: "I bought all of my Jack Stone sets with VIP points only. And since I got them for free, I was able to sell everything with a good profit. So for me Jack Stone is a real winner theme!" - I hope you get my point.
  34. Plus Aragog set has the magic words on the box that that the Grindelwald set does not. Harry Potter. ?
  35. Was able to get 3 41318 heartlake hospitals at Barnes and nobles with 3 hp bricktober sets. 10% off membership + 17%off gift cards. Not bad considering it’s sold out everywhere oh and 1 free kessel mine worker thrown in?

  37. I messed up the merge. If your answer isn't here, please search the forum. This discussion is all over the place and there are probably a dozen more threads for this.
  38. I think we're having 2 different arguments here: 1. Tabby proclaimed Dr.Who to be "not a turkey", to which Frank B. made the (IMHO correct) callout claiming that getting barely over RRP after 2 years still classifies a set as a Turkey. 2. Everyone else then jumped in to call Tabby's investment a winner, because he turned 22GBP into 60GBP in 2 years. I think Tabby's sale was indeed a winner (and indicative of the "new" LEGO investing), while at the same time, if what Tabby sold it for is a good indication of market value, the Ideas Dr.Who set is a turkey as per Frank's point, because people's expectations were much higher (should have at least made it to 2xRRP).
  39. Nearly empty bottle of lotion by the computer - nice! Sick score, pure jealousy.
  40. If it was me, it's got to be build then sell!
  41. Got the bat-pod 5004590 finished. A really clever build in some parts, and looks so much bigger and better in person than in the photos and reviews. Great set. ?

  46. Had a customer complain that I invoiced too quickly and they didn't think it was real. (I waited 2 days before inquiring on status of payment) Yep, not sure how I can improve here. One for the story book. I'll chalk that one up as "my bad"
