  1. Well, I guess we wait for the reveal of the Winter Village Fire Station..
  2. Betrayal of Cloud City will have "Retiring Soon" on release day
  3. Be hard competing for sales with SAH and Amazon next year, though. I didn´t know @tabbyboy lived near you.
  4. Selling Saturn Vs four years from now & ignoring next years 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing is a excellent strategy
  5. - does he even care about the humidity, temperature drops etc.. ?
  6. So you’re saying Saturn V is good money in 2 and 3 years?
  7. Official pics of the promo set 42093 posted up on https://www.hothbricks.com/lego-40293-christmas-carrousel-les-visuels-officiels/
  8. For the new people, "Retiring Soon" is SAH's shorthand for "This isn't selling. Please buy me."
  9. Book it. Next years D2C: Winter Hospital. Free giveaway will be Santa's helicopter.
  10. Im down with a fire station...as lo,g as the winter sets dont become a City-lite theme, im cool with that. We dont need a Winter Hospital... Sent from my VS995 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app
  11. That's the first confirmation I've seen of the Fire Station. This could really come out well if done right, and a nice opportunity for a vintage fire truck.

  14. I just noticed I had just three coupons available when there are usually dozens for products at Kmart and stuff. I stopped getting any offers for purchases a while ago. I can't get any coupons to apply to my Sears cart at all, even publicly advertised ones like appliance10. Real weird.
  15. Oh God, no... by Heikki M.

  17. I really thought this was a joke but its on the back of the October SAH Calendar. The UCS Porg makes its debut just in time to scare the sh!t out of all the kids at Halloween!

This should be the Sanctum Sanctorum that LEGO should release... and not that joke.. ( instagram: yellowbox777 )

Aren't you already disappointed enough? Don't get your hopes up
  22. Hi everyone, here are a few new pictures of my Lego Ideas Traction Engine I created earlier today... Hope you like them. Thanks to everyone who is supporting the model already on Lego Ideas. If you haven't done already and would like to vote for this model, then here is the link..https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a2ec583-9836-4868-8dc7-6b3bb0a2fe80 Thanks very much.
  23. Logged onto Brickpicker and posted what I did today.
  24. Yup, don't even ask about the tower bridges and camper vans.
  25. For whats it worth, over on Brickmerge.de (German Lego Price site) plenty sets got the "Auslaufartikel" tag, which just means "Retiring soon". I don't know where they got that info and I also don't know if this means something or if it's complete nonsense. Anyway here is the Link to the site: https://www.brickmerge.de/?find=Auslaufartikel A few of the bigger ones are: Snowspeeder, Ferris Wheel, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Tower Bridge, Old Fishing Store, NASA Apollo Saturn V, Parisian Restaurant, Detectives Office, Bucket Wheel Excavator, Technic Extreme Adventure....
  26. @Alpinemaps after a long day moderating.
  27. All set, the end result was freaking awesome. Hands down the best and most enjoyable set that I have ever built. The final piece is pretty sturdy and more importantly breathtaking . A must for any adult builder who is into the HP franchise . My 2 cents on some missed opportunities/cons from a die hard HP nerd POV . Stickers : about 70 - 75 of them. They do help keep the piece count down ( otherwise building some scenes would add a lot of elements ) and they do hit the mark portraying their respective scenes , however printed bricks would have been a better idea and added more elegance to the set Is this a Hogwarts Set or a HP Hogwarts set ? Meaning it stays loyal to HP's POV of the castle . Would have rather had the other 3 common rooms added along with the kitchen ( threw in an elf of two ) rather than have many scenes from the first movie. Speaking of first movie , should have added Fluffy and done away the dragon since again it is heavy one the first movie scenes. Room of requirements : in the dungeon? gmab Should have had Hagrid, no excuse for that one not to be included. Bonus micro figs : Slughorn, Lockhart, and Mad Eye.
  28. Add in AoH UCS set (recently retired), Slave1 UCS, Carbon Freezing Chamber, Yodas Hut, Boba Fett buildable....

Funny she said that. I found this on Facebook yesterday as somone's opinion on what this new set reminded them of. haha
  30. It’s a cruel irony that this upcoming set is named the Betrayal cloud city once again Lego has cheesed out this set with overpriced price point; and UCS tag that really shouldn’t, be on this play set at all. You would think the Lego plan would’ve learnt from the dismal attempt at attack on hoth ?‍♂️ I guess everybody’s expectations are pretty high. LEGO please do better!
  31. LEGO is promoting the "Master Builder Series" name because a set like this is no ultimate collectible. My main issue besides the awful box art is the scale of the set. They should have made it work with the 75060 Slave 1 and left out the inadequate Slave I version in this set and put the extra parts towards the structure. They could have made entire design larger and sold a separate Cloud Car. I understand what LEGO was trying to accomplish here, but they cheesed out and instead of an iconic set, they got another set that displays poorly and will not generate the buzz that it could have. For almost $400, I want better than this...
  32. They were able to keep the pics a secret because every time the pics leaked people saw that box art and said no way this is legit.
  33. Guest
LOL. It's definitely a.... set. That much can be said... Kids will like it for it's playability but wont be able to afford it, and doubtful many parents will buy it for them... Parents/adults want to display something pleasing to the eye... This is not. I'm underwhelmed but not surprised.
  34. not too shabby . I do like the linear design of the original better though. but the price is a joke. oh well.. moving on
  35. It would look a bit less ugly if they took the backside box art for the frontside. But the way it is, this one is definitely in the Top 5 of worst Lego Star Wars box art of all time. Luckily for TLG this isn't a $300+ set... oh, wait...
  36. Sad, just sad. Looks like a floor taken from the Death Star, very limited display ability, too expensive for what you get. I’m a big Star Wars fan and an AFOL, but this totally falls short of the mark for me... now I see WHY they kept it a secret so well. [emoji19] Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum
  37. but yes, it is -> "Ugly Collectors' Series"
  38. Introducing the "Ugly Collectors' Series" - with "ugly" referring to the set, of course.
  39. Completely and utterly underwhelming, disappointing and the box art is a joke. It looks like made by 5yr old MOC rather than Ultimate Collector Series build. It looks like fan made build, it lacks the details and looks half arsed to me. Even the box graphic design looks terrible which they usualy nailed in that department. I predict Assault on Hoth success all over again.
  40. Looks like 1/4 of a death star. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Brickpicker Forum mobile app
  41. OMG this is like deja vu with ass on hoth
  42. Selling is the hard part of all this. In fact most of the guys above have slowed or are not into it as much anymore is mostly due to the aspects of selling. We ALL LOVE the collecting and building our collections.. ? As for your ROI.. that depends on you. You could try to quick flip and just maintain a 20-30% usually after a year of holding it turns into a 50-90% then after that its all up in the air. Is the set well received by collectors or not. Keep in mind this is all high level rough numbers. Depends on the discounts you buy the sets at. Where or what platform you decide to sell on and competition on said platform. As a last tip, have a plan before you get to deep into purchasing. If you search these forums you will find Several posts about people who got to deep to fast and found that selling wasn't their thing and are now stuck with $20,000+ worth of lego (or worse) Try selling some now get set up to sell on Ebay. And keep enjoying the build... its LEGO after all.
