I liked Solo, thought it was one of the more fun Star Wars movies. Worth seeing.3 points

Now it's a blame game for falling profits. Resellers were the first group to feel LEGO's wrath. Now it's people like The Brick Show posting a few "confidential" pictures of sets. Who really cares? LEGO is punishing those who help sell their product the most. LEGO should embrace anyone who helps promote their products.3 points

I didn't like their style of presenting, but as of yesterday YouTube has taken down The BrickShow's channel: The YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement. Word on the street is that this is due to several videos showing confidential images and set news in the recent past. They have 450k subscribers - I do hope their account gets reinstated at some point because they did cover older sets that Jang doesn't review. On the subject of Jang, he recently detailed why he doesn't review everything. Reason #1 was surprising to me: Eyyy I haven't forgotten about LEGO Friends! I have to dramatically cut back on my coverage of the line (and its offshoots) due to: YouTube's aggressively antagonistic algorithms that ruthlessly punish not only videos that under-perform relative to others on a given channel, but other videos that follow as well. The overwhelming volume of products LEGO now releases every year, forcing me to either work an unhealthy amount and review everything, or be selective and live a manageable life. A personal lack of interest in many of the past year's Friends & Elves sets. At least #3 has been pushed to the side now with the new racing-themed lineup, so while being mindful of #2 I have decided to review at least a couple of the latest Friends products, maybe more if I get the chance.1 point

Don't forget to leave negative feedback. The saga of the smashed Slave 1 will go down in history as the best SNAD case ever.1 point

My son is lazy at home. He doesn't want to do anything. When I was his age, I would take pride in helping out my parents and grandparents. God help me if the internet isn't working. He even wants me to build his LEGO sets. Is it my fault? I guess so. At least I know I'm not alone.1 point

This is getting out of control. I think LEGO releases so much that ordinary collectors will likely give up and stay away altogether.1 point

By the way ... The following statement appears on these envelopes: "This packaging is not for resale. EP13F"1 point

The unique good thing about is that the old HP castles will significantly increase in value when the new one is microscale... The reason is that there will be never a new castle in minifig scale (at least as one set).1 point

Well, there´s Just2Good as well but Jang is probably the main independent reviewer who doesn´t get free sets. Provided he doesn´t review any more sets before release date he should be fine.1 point

As a fellow full time LEGO burn-out - I find the video a bit sad. I recall their earlier energy & enthusiasm (the fun), and it reminds me of my own transformation.1 point

I'm probably going to start using "My dad works for the FBI" in all my online correspondence. It's pure gold.1 point

So a story filled with species from all over the universe, working together to defeat the evil empire wasn't diverse enough? So we rejected all alien races and become "more diverse" by going with humanoids that are different... color? Star Wars was already the most diverse story franchise in history. Even more so than Star Trek which would feature one or two alien races / movie or episode. As for Marvel, that's not going to happen. They did what Star Wars should have done - they planned out their story arc four years ago and announced the plan. Star Wars are one-off movies sold as a trilogy. There is no story arc. There is no character development. All you are left with is an agenda sold under the banner "Star Wars". What we actually have been left with is men who are egotistical, misogynistic, dead beat, lazy, cowardly and worthless. No wonder the Star Wars universe is about women's supremacy, the guys are ALL worthless. The one woman in the empire is completely useless too. Phasma was promoted as some sort of female warrior. I now call her "Kenny" (as in South Park). Marvel is sticking to their plot line. And before everyone starts screaming "Captain Marvel is now a women," Captain Marvel has been a woman. That is not new. Marvel has great writing, characters, cinematography, etc. It is engaging. The opening scene in TLJ where Luke chucks his father's light saber (last seen when his right hand was cut off by his father - and just before he found out that Vader WAS his father) over his shoulder is the perfect symbol for what Disney has done with everything we knew and loved about Star Wars. I mean seriously, if they just wanted the name to do what ever they wanted, why didn't they go the bogus bricks route and call it "STAR PLAN". Mark my words, "Star Wars" will become a by-word (much like "jumping the shark") for when a studio ruins a franchise with an agenda other than telling the story. And Disney will be to blame unless they throw Kathleen Kennedy under the bus hard.1 point

Thanks for the Friday chuckle. Love the whole, "I don't know how you screwed me over..." bit! Internet gold from the start of the message!1 point

The major problem I see with the new STAR WARS movies is that there are just too many in a short period of time. George Lucas used to make people wait three years and even if he produced a crappy movie, fans would still love it. These new movies are better than the "prequels" IMO, yet get trashed. They are not perfect, but people are spoiled and overdosing on STAR WARS and becoming apathetic about the whole franchise. A time out is necessary...1 point

I mean the more time that passes the more upset I get. Jedi Master Yoda, who we all unconditionally loved as children, tells us to let it go and burns his own sacred texts. F*** off disney and your "story group."1 point

I'm glad Disney is still 2 billion-ish in the hole. They had a good thing going with Force Awakens and drove it into the ground. One small example...where the hell were the Knights of Ren WE SAW IN THE FIRST MOVIE. They abandoned the fan base, Yoda even specifically told us older guys to f*** off in so many words. I hope Disney loses 2 billion more.1 point
