  1. Not essentially today but finally after months of planning, ordering multiple times from brick-link, buying from PaB walls in store, redesigning, restructuring, testing, balancing, rebuilding, destroying by accident... I was finally able to finish my extremely frustrating but fantastic project of mounting this extremely fragile but adorable baby on the wall. 75192 is mounted on a solid TV-Mount (plate) attached to the wall with custom extended 4 point weight distribution bolts to keep it well balanced across the mid-structure without putting to much pressure on single section of the chassis. With some extra changes to the weight and centre-balance I was able to give it little more angular aspect to get more "air" on the bottom. Clearance on the top to the wall is about 1.5cm and bottom 6.5cm. That clearance on top and bottom gave me a little more leeway in designing the schematics for lighting kit. After testing with number of different lighting setups I came up with this as a final design. I wanted to give it on the bottom an extra push of light for obvious reasons :) Lighting is fully programmable with already programmed by me ignition sequence - flashing white lights -> red quick ignition pulse -> blue light -> blue light fading in/out. whole thing is remote controlled. reference: https://youtu.be/jPEYpryMp2s?t=75 + custom made sockets (under bottom engine outlets on left and right) for 2x 10 000 mAh Powerbanks to juice the lighting kit because from very beginning I wanted to avoid the cable management situation and keep it as clean as possible. And here it is.. I'm proud but exhausted and tired with whole thing... hope you gonna like it
  2. After about my 16th order it stopped working... so not sure what happened! Orders are confirmed and a handful waiting to be picked up already and the others on the 15th....
  3. I bought a Haunted House 10228 on ebay for $150 with free shipping. I actually bought it in late April but received it recently. It was an open box sealed bags and it was all as described. Once a while, I take a chance on a too good to be true item on ebay. I am just glad this one worked. It was sent wrapped in brown crafting paper so the box was damaged but no complaints from me.
  4. Due to the amount of space my Star Wars UCS sets were taking up, I took the decision that having a modular town would not be possible. Hence, started to sell off my modulars. Sold this little gem for £650. Buy in was £450 about 18 months ago, so cleared £170 after fees.

  6. Bought a sealed but in a bad condition 10224 - 250 Euro...
  7. @Shewie - great set-up! You need to post a video, so we can see it beyond the 2-D picture. Plus I'd like to see the lighting sequence.

  9. Love the final result but man was the build frustrating. By far the worst instructions I've had to work with and I've built a lot of classic sets. Cleaning baked in dust and sorting 500+ black pieces added to the frustration (I actually don't mind refurbing classic sets but this one again was more difficult than usual). I added the railing in the back of the "message intercept" section. Anyway, I really dig the abstract nature of classic space base sets. Not all are good but this one and a few of others are kind of beautiful to look at.
  10. My wife and I got new "R"Us credit cards in the mail yesterday and while trying to activate them we were told in a recording that the account had been closed. Today I spoke with a 3rd-level employee (the last link in the "I want to speak to your supervisor" chain) at Synchrony Bank, the issuer of "R"Us Credit Cards. I was told that with TRU's bankruptcy and liquidation, Synchrony's client services group is closing and ALL "R"Us credit card either have been or shortly will be closed. My account was closed yesterday 5/9. As for now technically the accounts are still active, but cardholders cannot make purchases. We can only make payments. Since Synchrony Bank is in the private label credit card business I assumed that the accounts would be sold or transferred to another bank (since banks are in the business of making money and not losing paying customers) and we'd be issued new cards. Per their 5/3 earnings call, they describe a transition plan for cardholders to Synchrony Mastercard (below). That conflicts with what I heard on the phone today- that our account has been closed and cannot be reopened. So there may or may not be a new card issue coming. So continues the TRU saga. From Motleyfool: https://www.fool.com/investing/2018/05/03/5-things-synchrony-financials-management-wants-you.aspx We can manage adverse partner events The current fierce disruption in the retail industry has exposed one of the pitfalls for a credit issuer like Synchrony in dealing with retail partners: an increasing possibility that a household name may declare bankruptcy. In such cases, Synchrony seeks to maintain the relationship with the cardholder. It's a multistage process, and the company first reaches out to remind customers that they're still responsible for their revolving credit accounts, regardless of the retailer's bankruptcy. CEO Keane also cited the bankruptcy of Toys R Us to illustrate the organization's approach to controlling credit delinquencies and avoiding charge-offs. Synchrony has offered to transition Toys R Us cardholders to the Synchrony Mastercard, adding an attractive 2% cash-back feature on all purchases to incentivize conversions.

  13. Congrats lol. I must have missed the credit cutoff. And agree with Alpinemaps - I only used it for TRUTH/TRUST and paid it off. Sniff... I remember the day I got that card: 2016 TRU pre-Christmas sale. 40% off Emma's House, Technic Crawler Crane, Scooby Mansion, Ferrari Truck, Deep Sea Base, retired TRU-exclusive SW + $10 off $75 coupon + 15% in points on Saturday. It was definitely the only time I maxed out a $2500 credit card 4 hours after it being issued.
  14. I've been following this topic since a while and thought about registering today to say you how much I appreciate your effort! I'm already a Eurobricks member and have been running a similar thread over there and this topic definitely helped me to find modulars! Thanks so much! ?
  15. I had to submit a new build to the app store that included new certificates. Hopefully they will approve it quickly
  16. SCOTUS is expected to make a decision on this as well.

  19. Ninjago sets from a 90+ set purchase from a few weeks ago. No parts or minifigs were missing on these There were also some smaller Ninjago sets and a 9445 is missing 1 minifig. Thankfully I sold most of the Mega Blok in the lot for $155 to help offset the $175 buy-in. Next up from this lot are the large Star Wars sets.

  32. Thanks for all the kind words everyone, I appreciate it. I am working with our insurance provider, but that is painfully slow. The biggest effect on us right now is the daily loss of income. Since the break in we've installed a camera system and decided (like many of you mentioned) no more visitors or pickups at the warehouse. The sad truth is this is someone from Craigslist or Brick Link (or someone they know), there were only 8 people who came here and saw what we had on the shelves. It's hard to walk the line between keeping it all a secret and sharing with other AFOLS, but in the end it bit us hard. Strange discovery we made: they stole (3) cases of bubble mailers and enough wooden shelf supports to fill a small storage unit or basement (we had just brought these back from one of our retail stores the night before). Maybe this means the thief is planning on setting up shop somewhere and take their time going thru everything. Also missing? About 70 lbs of bulk unsorted LEGO. We started out sorting Goodwill auction lots and Craigslist bulk buys and transitioned to breaking down new sets. Too much work sorting and listing for us, again that suggests to us they are setting up a shop (or have a lot of personal MOC projects they want to feed).
