  11. Yep, that is the portion of the scene that really gets me too. Apparently Leia is able to open a pressure door that had to have slammed shut when the atmosphere was lost, close the door again, re-pressurize the area, then open the air-lock door so the rest of the crew could get to her. All while she's basically in a vacuum and with little to now "force abilities." *sigh* The other scene which really annoys me is how Rey ends up back on the Falcon after she and Kylo blow up Luke's lightsaber. So somehow she was able to wake up, find both halves of Luke's lightsaber, ignore everyone else in the room (not kill Kylo,) get off the mega ship without being seen and Chewie is able to fly the Falcon (also unseen,) to the mega ship, land, pick Rey up - because she was so easy to find on a 25 KM long ship - and go into battle on Crait. And how did they know to go to Crait? I guess she and Leia have some sort of force connection now too? *sigh* This past weekend I watched the first time TV airing of TFA. Although there are points where I roll my eyes (DS #3, trench run, trash compactor, etc...) it had more of a feel of a Star Wars movie than TLJ. It may have pushed boundaries, but most issues were at least plausible in the SW universe. (Although Poe killing 9 Tie Fighters in less than 30 seconds during the battle on Takodana). TLJ kind of just threw every SW idea they had against the wall and whatever stuck, they went with and threw the rest away. Keep in mind, Rian Johnson has been tapped by Disney for a brand new SW trilogy. So apparently, they really like what he did. But I'm not really seeing fans liking it, young or old. I mean you know it's bad when even your 10 yr-old daughter complains about Leia's superman move in space.

  12. Pablo used to drive me nuts. He always sounded so high and mighty. But then I realized - he’s usually right and usually makes sense and the super fans really need to be talked down to/off the ledge sometimes. I actually do think he’s fighting the good fight these days.

  15. I agree. I picked 10 random sets from the lot to get a vibe and all of them were Chima, Nexo Knights , starwars polybags and Ninjago. In all fairness most of those sets don’t have much resale appeal. If there were larger exclusives or modulars, it would have made the lot appealing . Based on my opinion even at $6k it would still be a stretch for someone trying to make a profit off the lot. This lot might not appeal to me but could to someone else willing to put the work. Wish you all the best.

  16. i built these two Dragon Sanctuary today. I bought one on auction on ebay ($93) and got another one on CL ($60). Both were 100% complete with boxes and manuals. Sealed ones are way too expensive.

  19. Just for clarity: even if Ebay submits no forms to the IRS, if you buy and sell LEGO for profit purposes (i.e. not your own personal used sets that you are slowly selling off) you should report it.

  20. I think it would be hilarious if they recycle an old promo poly like Yularen for May the 4th specifically for Falcon VIP Cardholders I almost picked up a Kessel Run Falcon with my VIP points this week but since I'm in no rush to build it anyway (just want that sweet Lando minifig) I will hold off in the tiny chance there's a surprise for us Falcon VIPs

  21. I think it just comes down to compelling main characters. The LOTR had them...The Hobbit did not. Even though Gandalf was in both and a strong character, he could not make up for the lackluster dwarves. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli were much more interesting. Same with original STAR WARS crew. Han Solo was cool. Darth Vader was a bad ass. A young Princess Leia was tough and cute. Obi-Wan (Alec Guiness) was iconic. In these new movies, the old crew was just that...old. Besides Ridley, the new cast is annoying and forgettable.

  22. Very good points. Rey getting to the Falcon that quickly would just have been insanely hard if you are trying to explain it. How about the fact that Finn and Rose are able to travel wherever they want and spend days doing it while the others are under severe threat and it only seems to last hours? Force Awakens was much better BUT both movies fail at respecting the "big three" and letting them have any scenes together. Not to mention the new concepts of "you can slowly outrun any ship, large or small" and "you can ram any ship now by going at lightspeed." I mean, it was stupid that the First Order couldn't send TIE bombers at any moment out to the Resistance fleet.

  25. What is really annoying about TLJ fantasy universe is that it isnt even cohesive from scene to scene.......... Perfect example is Leia getting sucked into space after the bridge gets hit and depressurizes. But cut to her a few moments later and she flies through an airlock with plenty of crew members standing around and no depressurization. And thats just one example, the movie is loaded with em. This movie could have been so much better IMO............Ughhhhhhhhhhh

  27. What happened with GoT is pretty common in Japan where they routinely create anime / cartoon based on an ongoing series of manga / comics. You can tell where the source materials end and the anime only storylines begin. Small details you love so much in earlier episodes + source materials are usually missing from the later part of the anime TLJ is something else though since it did not have source materials per se. Just storylines with holes and without any respect for previous movie (lets face it if TLJ /Rian could not respect TFA, there was no way he would have respected the older movies)

  34. I've never had an interest in Modulars. But thanks to Target's pricing error, I got a look at Assembly Square and decided "these look nice, I need to have them all"... which seemed like a terrible life decision at the time... so I followed my norm and walked down that path. Thankfully my very detailed saved search strings and alerts on eBay helped me find these gems at what I would consider good prices. No boxes, but otherwise complete. That large stack of Assembly Squares has supplemented another hording epidemic. Seller was dumping her collection. Direct messaged me and offered me a Pet Shop for $148 shipped but I'm certain I can find better. So that brings me to 5 with Assembly Square, Palace Cinema, and Detectives Office which are all sealed. I'm $500 in the hole so far for 5 modulars. I'm super cheap when it comes to buying things actually for me, so I'll find the rest at what I consider to be a reasonable price... or I won't find them at all. Another exciting hunt begins.

  39. Why can't I expect BOTH to be good ??? If 1 can be great with less budget, less exposure, and less promotion, shouldn't I expect the one with high budget and promotion to be at least on par if not better ????? For the record, I like BOTH my mom's and my wife's cooking. I NEVER expect them to be the same. The differences are the things that make me like both. Plus, if both were exactly the same, I would have had less reasons to visit my parents

  41. March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.
