Such a drag. I'm going to make one last trip today and walk every isle. Not looking for deals, purely sentimental.5 points

I had my friend, a Star Wars collector, text me excitedly saying we need to watch the stores in our region. I told him I’d give him the skinny, but not to expect much. He called me a Debbie Downer.5 points

You sound pretty salty. There were 594 contributions amounting to $40,000. I don't know the total number of tickets sold, but I would imagine, we all had the exact same holds to win something. I don't know how many tickets you bought, or when, but wasn't it all for a cause? You sound like a conspiracy theorist, and there's no call for it. It's not like ed and Jeff were the winners and kept the money for themselves. Honestly, I could have taken the money I spent on tickets and bought myself a nice set, but this was for kids and it's because someone who has put a lot of work into a site that has allowed me to make money asked.5 points

For fans of the original Tron: A kind of obscure toy company in Japan called "Medicom" released a great series of Tron collectibles under their "Kubrick" line. They were only released in Asia and are rare here in the states. You can sometimes find them on ebay for a reasonable price. I have two of the sets. Great packaging and very accurate to the movie. Google it.3 points

TLG will probably be happy to finally give Speed Champions to retailers that actually pay for the product they order.3 points

I'm not expecting much. Everyone has plenty of lead time on this so I'm expecting the stores to be flooded with Grandmas and Soccer Moms at 20% off.2 points

Hey now, what happens to Speed Champions and the Star Wars: Mos Eisley Cantina this year?2 points

This is a first after all these years. Target shipping decided I wanted my entire EBay order shoved in one box, so they unboxed the last set and just folded the Lego box down before taping it up to ship. ?♂️2 points

Toysrus Canada already stated they were not included in the US liquidation, but here's an email i just got from them, only a matter of time probably... March 15, 2018 To our valued Canadian customers, Toys “R” Us, Inc. announced the difficult decision to seek court approval in its Chapter 11 proceedings to wind-down its business operations in the United States. Our team members in Canada are very saddened to hear of this outcome and we are all keeping our U.S. colleagues in our thoughts during this very difficult time. In Canada, all 82 stores remain open for business to serve you, our customers, honouring all our policies, warranties, Baby Registry, Gift Cards and RClub loyalty programs without change. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure the iconic Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us brands live on for many generations to come in Canada. Our team continues to work hard at strengthening our competitive position and making the improvements necessary to ensure that we have the products when, where and how you choose to shop with us. Our Canadian operations are continuing in the normal course and we continue to partner with the trend products you want from the brands that you trust. For the past 34 years, we have proudly served Canada as the trend authority in toy and baby and we remain the champions of play and trusted advisors helping people become parents. Thank you for choosing to say “yes” to shop and support Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us Canada! We are proud to continue to welcome you in Canada coast to coast in store and online at www.toysrus.ca and www.babiesrus.ca for all of your toy and baby needs. And purchased. I think the first episode of every season is also available for free. And I may have just wasted 20 minutes watching an episode.1 point

Yes they are. One of the best sellers so stock is usually good. They get all store exclusives and can sell as they aren't under the same agreement as LEGO stores1 point

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound salty. I was just confused and didn't really understand because Ed said that half the winners bought the tickets that day. But now that I think long and hard about it, I realized that over 25% of the 40,000 was raised on the last day. So, it makes sense that at least 25% or more of the winners bought tickets on the last day. I did buy a few tickets but only because I don't have much money and most of the money was my profits from last year(which I don't mind). This site has helped me so I wanted to help the kids. I was just not paying attention and thinking about the winning stats and stuff. Well, I'm cleared up now and fully understand.1 point

They were unique in that they routinely charged 20% more for Lego and pretty much any other toy than anywhere else. That said, it will be missed having a dedicated toy store to occasionally walk into opposed to dedicated toy aisles.1 point

Is it just me or does the body (towards the bottom) of the light cycles look like a rectangular box? It looks awful.1 point

Completely agree with 'No.' The target age demographic of the moviegoers is higher than the target age range of the LEGO sets. Kids don't want to recreate the movies with LEGOs, and the sets do a poor job of recreating the movie, anyhow. The biggest winner I can think of is Wolverine's Chopper Showdown that was $20 but goes for over $100, because of Deadpool who sells for $45 alone. Totally concur with Will 4 when he said the value is in the minifigs. Oh, and Ant-Man Final Battle because of its short run gave people some good returns, I think.1 point

Yous should know we like nothing better than to vent about a shop until they fail - then we realise what we are missing going forward and that Amazon is going to be a horrible monopoly.1 point

Fifty years from now....I hear Amazon is going to open stores that display their products. Neat idea. I wonder why I didn't think of that...1 point

Since I started rolling up with my own cart and boxes I've had multiple people ask me what aisle the ________ s are in as if I work there. And a few days ago I had about 60 sets loaded up and asked an employee if she had any more in back... She asked me if there was a recall- because she thought I was there to remove all the Lego stock.1 point
