I would love to say I remember 20, but that was a rough age on my liver. Happy Birthday! Me personally, I'm packing to head to Florida (Anna Maria Island) for the week. Got a beach house and going to relax and catch some baseball.5 points

I finished this a few weeks back and I felt it turned out well. There are some small finishing touches I added to it, namely just to add one more plate on the front. Much of it is from the 21050 Architecture Studio Set with some parts gathered from various sets. Let's say this piece fulfilled its mission quite well.5 points

I am assuming this is the show and tell section or the bragging section...lol, so there I go................. I am SO excited to share this with you guys !! I found this auction on eBay with a starting bid of $49.99 (reserve not met) (no bids) and a make offer option, Local pickup only =( I emailed the seller and they wanted to get $400 for them. They ended up agreeing to sell them to me for $200 ship to me for $36 shipping ! We have received them all and assembled them. I can not get over how immaculate they all are ! They were hers during childhood and guaranteed me that she took great care of all her things growing up ! Besides a little dust. They look brand new and all the boxes are intact and only a few creases and a little tear here or there. All the pieces are there ! Even the little gold coins and feathers for the hats. All the instructions are perfect and they even have posters that have not even been unfolded in them ! I feel very fortunate to get a hold of these and will enjoy displaying them =)3 points

Based on a classic age where tantalizing tales of science fiction and pleasing aesthetical forms of art came together to create a captivating concept of an alternate future utopia about ray guns, star travel, hulking robots, and invaders from beyond, these builds capture this essence of a "retro future" in all its delightfully quirky charms. While many if not most of the designs could hardly be considered practical or efficient by today's real world standards of technology and leisure, nevertheless much like a vintage car what matters is the look of the ride itself. Yep. Blank ones aren’t assigned to anything until they get written by the console. They are interchangeable.1 point

Lego should go back to the flap top display boxes and add storage compartments inside. I think that's one of the reasons so many of those boxes are still around with the complete sets. Nice packaging adds value, just look at Apple products.1 point

"A dollar and a dream" "It only takes a buck and a little bit of luck" "Hey, you never know" Just a few phrases that have been permanently drilled into my head - no wonder I will sometimes say things like "I need to go mow the snow".1 point

Last year it was split down the middle. Half the winners bought a few tickets (or even one) and the other half spent big. You have to be in it to win it.1 point

Disney has destroyed the LEGO STAR WARS theme IMO. It will not recover until Disney stops making STAR WARS movies. Every years there are dozens of repeats, retreads, and similar STAR WARS sets released. The theme always had issues with remakes, but now it is just insane. While there are some really great sets being released, will more than a handful become collectible and valuable after they retire?1 point

The next generation won't really care what's real or not since they'll be so immersed in vr from the start. too bad, it's just not the same feeling when whacking your friend with a smart phone (that'll break) as it was with a good solid Tonka truck.1 point

Here is the short. There are always scumbags at the top and bottom. Always taking advantage of a system. Name them, who cares? In my experience advising people I have always seen expansion which includes new employees and their own opportunity when business owners reduce expenses, which in 100% of the cases taxes is the largest expense. Just today I met with a doctor and in reducing his taxes 60% we are, putting money in his employees pocket, that's real. That being said, I am a minority in the USA, ethnically speaking. I worked from 10 years old to today, mowing lawns, delivering pizza to advising millionaire. All the cards were stacked against me and my brothers. Never once did I think because someone has more, they owe me money or other benefits. Single mom making 7.25 an hour. I worked full time through, college as did my brothers, high school too. No handouts. My parents gave me 500 for college, thats it, that's all they had. The USA is about opportunity. I worked hard, I am a "minority", I almost failed three times. I wanted more for me and my family. I worked hard, harder than many. I am in my late thirties, I own a business, I employ people, I am upper middle class. No one gave me anything. In this country you can be what you want to be, if you want to work. Never once did I think that I was owed "things" because I was poor. I earned it! Entitlement is a manufactured belief. Both of my brothers also own their own businesses, architecture and graphic design. Poor, very poor, as I was doesn't make me entitled to take other people success. The USA is a remarkable place to call home, where I could be what I wanted to be, not defined by my race or my socioeconomic class! There are always scumbags.1 point

Anyone who is really angry about this so called "Scam" really seems to care a bit too much. The "Exclusive Benefit" is the gift of an awakening, to the realities of consumer manipulation.1 point

That's all fine, but they could have easily set up a registry during 2017, so that anyone who registered and then paid once their falcon had shipped would be eligible for a black card and the promos. Heck, they could have just put it on backorder in their system for the entire duration of 2017, and make people pay up front, and that way ensure that everyone who wanted got a black card. Definitely badly managed by TLG1 point
-
I think they are deliberately toning down the perks as much more people had cards issued than LEGO anticipated, and buyers who were unable to purchase in 2017 would also be pissed off by good promotions, as they had the intent to buy but were denied of the opportunity. Let's be frank, LEGO messed this up majorly, it created a lose-lose situation. Good perks would lead to an outlash, and weak perks sound like a scam. Since the latter is less damaging, they probably went with it for this reason.1 point
