I am assuming this is the show and tell section or the bragging section...lol, so there I go................. I am SO excited to share this with you guys !! I found this auction on eBay with a starting bid of $49.99 (reserve not met) (no bids) and a make offer option, Local pickup only =( I emailed the seller and they wanted to get $400 for them. They ended up agreeing to sell them to me for $200 ship to me for $36 shipping ! We have received them all and assembled them. I can not get over how immaculate they all are ! They were hers during childhood and guaranteed me that she took great care of all her things growing up ! Besides a little dust. They look brand new and all the boxes are intact and only a few creases and a little tear here or there. All the pieces are there ! Even the little gold coins and feathers for the hats. All the instructions are perfect and they even have posters that have not even been unfolded in them ! I feel very fortunate to get a hold of these and will enjoy displaying them =)9 points

I finished this a few weeks back and I felt it turned out well. There are some small finishing touches I added to it, namely just to add one more plate on the front. Much of it is from the 21050 Architecture Studio Set with some parts gathered from various sets. Let's say this piece fulfilled its mission quite well.7 points

There will be a few Harvard Business School case studies written on this. I'm in the camp like Ed, just makes me sad overall. I have very vivid memories of how exciting it was to go to Toys R Us as a kid. I can remember the exact layout of the Southcenter store - Seattle folks who are old enough will remember the spot, it's a Value Village now. One of my strongest memories was the excitement of having like $12 and being able to buy four different G.I. Joe figures in a single trip, my biggest haul at that time. I would continue to short stock in Mattel and Hasbro as well. My kids' generation is just growing up differently with more screens as part of their daily life - when I walk into a Toys R Us now I see aisle and aisle of overproduced stuff my kids just completely pass on by...4 points

I love it when you realize they gave you 11 (sometimes even 12) nuggets in your 10 piece nugget. On a side note, I hate when you only get 9. I always count.2 points

Not finding anything new here this week...just knight rider, green powerpuff and Tina. I hit about 2 to 3 stores daily on the way home from work. 1 has consistently had nothing new in about 2 weeks. The other two are hit and miss. One manager told me he has one reseller arriving early and buying up to 100 cases pretty frequently as of late which would explain the lack of new product on the shelf. $1200 not including tax out the door on these visits basically. I'm sure it's taking place at more and more stores now that word is out. I wonder how they go about this. Just buying the whole pallet and whatever is on it..Chase McCain??? shulda asked ....I have to pick my battles so I've had to be pretty picky on what I load up on at the current scale of my business.2 points

Got the figs today. Quickly checked Fett, Lando and Luke. Figures are in great condition. Even Lando's cape is in great shape. Checked Fett's neck pegg and Lego in imprinted on it. Everything looks to be legit. First ever really good Lego score2 points

It is one time use only, however I found that if you add items to your cart, instead of just Buying it Now, it applies to multiple items from different sellers at the same time.1 point

That could very likely be one of my suppliers. I'm in NY, but so far have 1150 sets shipped to me from the same person this time around. Similar quantities during the last round as well. Even he didn't have too many Jay or Superman sets compared to the others. Did manage to grab 72 Lloyd sets though.1 point

Been shopping at tru since I was a kid. I remember seeing the black seas barricuda on the shelf, hoping I would have it someday. Dumb executives killing a great company, for who know what reason makes me sad.1 point

Here is the short. There are always scumbags at the top and bottom. Always taking advantage of a system. Name them, who cares? In my experience advising people I have always seen expansion which includes new employees and their own opportunity when business owners reduce expenses, which in 100% of the cases taxes is the largest expense. Just today I met with a doctor and in reducing his taxes 60% we are, putting money in his employees pocket, that's real. That being said, I am a minority in the USA, ethnically speaking. I worked from 10 years old to today, mowing lawns, delivering pizza to advising millionaire. All the cards were stacked against me and my brothers. Never once did I think because someone has more, they owe me money or other benefits. Single mom making 7.25 an hour. I worked full time through, college as did my brothers, high school too. No handouts. My parents gave me 500 for college, thats it, that's all they had. The USA is about opportunity. I worked hard, I am a "minority", I almost failed three times. I wanted more for me and my family. I worked hard, harder than many. I am in my late thirties, I own a business, I employ people, I am upper middle class. No one gave me anything. In this country you can be what you want to be, if you want to work. Never once did I think that I was owed "things" because I was poor. I earned it! Entitlement is a manufactured belief. Both of my brothers also own their own businesses, architecture and graphic design. Poor, very poor, as I was doesn't make me entitled to take other people success. The USA is a remarkable place to call home, where I could be what I wanted to be, not defined by my race or my socioeconomic class! There are always scumbags.1 point

You hope that smell is the sewer. It's not always LEGO sets hiding in those dresser drawers.1 point

Several of the other figures had cracks (cloud city Han, 1 greedo, hoth leia, 2 yodas) but the seller did list them as used in very nice condition. You have to look closely at the arms to see they are cracked. Figures looked like they were at least cared for; joints are tight and capes are in good condition. I do believe that older figs were more prone to cracking. Too bad all the figures were not perfect. Lot included almost all of the imperial inspection figs too. I doubt it is worth complaining about since I will obviously not return them. A damaged Fett could still fetch probably more than I bought all 35 figs for. I will probably just trade the figure for another figure at the top of my want list.1 point

From reading the past couple dozen pages, if they only left out the Leia Poppins character, Finn, Poe, Rose, Snoke, Benicio Del Toro character, Commander Whateverhernameis, blue milk thingamajiggers, and broom boy...the movie would have kicked ass. Am I correct?1 point

You know what confuses me: how some people can't seem to grasp that other people saw a movie and had a different reaction to it than they did. Some movies just polarise opinion. This is one of those movies. The exceptional thing with The Last Jedi is that it was preceded by a 40-year body of work that many people had an emotional investment in. You f**k around with that kind of investment at your peril.1 point

If members still don't understand why a lot of star wars fans hated the movie, just look at 1 of the 1000s of rant videos on youtube. Most get why fans despised the movie.1 point

Google Express: 75153 AT-ST (the good one ) - $31.97 (20% off). If you have 20% off coupons (and you should - they've been handing them out like candy) your price is $26 each before tax (35% off). Retired set but has been flipping in and out of stock on WM.com over the last few months.1 point

Thanks...No matter what a person's political or religious beliefs and convictions are, supporting exceptional education is a good thing in my opinion. This LEGO raffle has and always been about keeping a great school open so that hundreds of children, faculty and families can connect on a daily basis. It is a positive energy environment that has dealt with adversity on an annual basis and has become stronger because of it.1 point

If i’m reading @waddamon posts correctly (big “if”) , i think i’m in agreement with him. Plus tax planning is big business for the rich to keep as much as possible since they are paying the vast majority of everything Uncle Sam collects .1 point

Amazon is global and continues expanding so even if US demand goes belly up, they still have Japan, India, Europe and eventually China and Russia to prop it up. Plus the failure of businesses like TRU is likely to strengthen their hand until a proper rival emerges or governments get involved to break their monopoly.1 point
