My kids started with the books when they were 8. Then followed by the audio books during drives and while relaxing at home. Then the movies at age 9, with the later, darker movies at age 10. HP is still going strong in our house after 4 years - we just came back from Universal and really loved it, all of us ... Kids brought their robes and wands and had a blast. These sets are high on our wishlist. Oh, and we didn't need the books because I bought them all when they came out originally - read the first book to "see what it was all about" and was hooked immediately. That book is still a great read even after having read/heard & seen it about a 100 times ....
