  6. If she really values someone with complete understanding of SW mythology, she should have asked Dave Filoni (co-creator of CW & Rebels) instead I can't agree with this more. D&D are good at extracting major components of EXISTING story, reorganizing and translating them to a different medium (TV). Once the source materials are depleted (in terms of quantity and quality, sorry GRRM), (huge) gaps appear in their final product (GoT). Whereas someone like Filoni took elements of the original mythology (SW) and weaved those into his original ideas (Rebels). This made the series feel and look like part of this grand universe while presenting his own fresh ideas and storylines.

  10. Technically they did trusted Filoni with more as he was promoted to head of animation development or something of that sort. His weakness is he does not have experience directing outside animation. But they could/should have given him chance to produce and write a live action movie or two. As far as D&D, you are right. There is a big catalog of legacy stuffs for them to translate to big screen. They would be great at making a movie trilogy based on the old KotOR 1&2 PC games + comic, for example

  17. ;0 - giant stone hitting the pond and waves spreading out. domino effect. margin buying (buying stock with a credit card) is now causing people to have to sell to cover their margin calls. that begets more selling which breaches more margins etc. throw on top of that vicious cycle collapse of inverse volatility etn's used as a hedging tool by larger financial institutions which are like a giant black hole of money , the waves could be pretty big. doesn't matter if you have a 20 year horizon but if you are retiring soon, could be uglish. or this is just the latest mother of all buy on the dips. meantime main street economy is doing better, at least from my perspective i'm having more sales fba in january and feb 2018 than i did FBM Jan - June 2017. jobless rate is reportedly lower though i have no factual knowledge of wtf is really going on. #fakeeverything

  18. Not by me. Too early, and I reckon it’ll be cheaper. Definitely one I’ll be hoarding when the right deal comes up though ? I’ve got a load of the little mini ones to throw a couple in with each sale, they look pretty cute together!

  21. Hello ! I'm new here and to begin, I'm French and I speack very bad english so sorry^^. My husband is a fan of Lego and I become too a fan ! I work in the finance so when I see different price, I directly see the potential profit. Since one month, I buy some set in promotion and online. I realize my first sale last week (buy 45€ and sold 70€). I watch a video on this site and I discover a new world ! I want to learn more about this Lego and I think I can find this here. I just need to improve my english

  22. Since the older stuff has remained untouched in the new canon, and there's tons of old stuff in Legends...maybe that's what they're going to do? I think you might be on to something. Maybe the plan is to do the really old Jedi stuff, and adapt all that to the big screen? I do agree with you about Filoni. Guy knows his Star Wars stuff, and the guy has great storytelling skills. It's a shame they won't trust him with more.

  33. I don't know what LEGO is doing with the special black card. I was banned from Shop at Home over a year ago and I'm not entirely sure why, but I won't go into those details here. Regardless I still get e-mails about promotions and catalogs in the mail asking me to buy stuff I can't. My VIP account and points still work in store only. I never ordered the UCS Falcon and I've only purchased sets from my local LEGO store about 3 times in the past year. Having said that I received the black card in the mail this week and I have no idea why.

  38. Here is a 6 month update for those that were curious. The ship has weathered quite nicely. The only thing I'm worried about is the sails, they look great now, but I don't know about long term. It has not been a maintenance nightmare, as a matter of fact, our cleaner fish and snails do an excellent job!! We get more comments on this display than any of our other displays....people love it!!! I'll post a one year update just for sh*ts and giggles.

  39. I realized I've only been sorting bulk and laying out pieces for sets to see what I'm missing without building any sets for months, so I pulled out the pieces for 6278. Along with my pirate ships, this was one of the largest sets I owned in my childhood. I used to make stop motion videos of the islanders against the pirates using a camera that weighed about 10 pounds. There's a VHS tape around somewhere with what could become The LEGO Pirates Movie. I will need to work on the special effects, though.

  40. I went for it.....cracked open one of my Tower Bridges and built the alternate build designed by Lee Inyong. It's a good looking modular, but if you look closely, you can see where he obviously was limited on pieces. For example, the most obvious is the sidewalk not being done in tiles. I am going to tweek the streetscape a little to better flow with my other modulars. There are also some very delicate components as you get deep into the build which add a bit of a challenge. But overall.....I think he did a pretty darn good job at making the most out of what he was provided. Made good use out of one of my shelf-warmers.....

  41. With all the negativity surrounding the Last Jedi AT-ST set.. i was regretting not picking up the Rogue One AT-ST. Luckily i found it for a little under retail. As with many Lego sets; it was much bigger than i thought and i'm glad i didn't miss out. I don't care for the Baze or Rebel Trooper, so i'll sell them off to offset the cost. Very cool set, a bit big to go next to my AT-AT in the Hoth display, but i'll find a spot.

  42. Finally got around to building 70615 Fire Mech. For me it was a must-buy since I saw the first picture of it leaking. So I really was anticipating the build. To make it short: the set didn't disappoint, in fact it's awesome. The mech is quite big, definitely not feeling small at all. The poseability is good enough for my liking. The only critique I have would be the amount of stickers in the set, especially a few larger ones which are more difficult to apply in my opinion. For the picture I mixed in some 70607 Ninjago City Chase as background scenery, and left a few selected minifigs out.

  44. I've had BB8 built for a while now, but i finally finished up "rounding" or "anti-studding" him to better match my rounded dome R2. Didn't turn out as well as R2, but still happy with it. Mostly involved adding small tiles everywhere, but in some cases i did need to take the panels off and modify them a bit to hide some of the bigger studded pieces.

  45. Yes, I expect 8-10 D2C´s so there should be a couple more Creator ones at lower price points and maybe another large landmark? If we escape with only one rehash, we are doing well too.
