**SoCal Red Alert** The Geoffrey's Bargain Box TRU clearance outlet on La Palma in Buena Park marked the whole store down 50% this morning. They have a fairly large amount of Lego but set selection is limited. My friend got there first and arm swept the Technic (bucket excavators $115), the Caterham 7's ($30) and some others. I picked up some good part out sets (Ninjago, Nexo, Friends). Plenty left for the horde to scavenge.5 points

Would really like the Lighthouse set, don't mind at all if it's similar to the Fishing Shop, they are amazing sets. Christmas Story is also one of the most overrated movies of all time. Now if they gave us the Griswold's house with the RV in the front, we'd be onto something.3 points

My faith in buying retired sets direct from Amazon is restored for now. 60102 City VIP Plane (441S7). 42048 Technic Go Kart (40S7) 21131 Ice Spikes (439S7) All recent productions and all in very good condition, apart from annoying barcode stickers on two of them.2 points

I think the book would work better than the maze if they are able to package a couple different "story" builds at the start. Maybe selling add-on packs would work but better to show what you can do day one.2 points

Maybe it's just me, but the sea themed Modulars are pretty neat and would make for a great series of sets IMO. They would be great in my shore house...if I had one.2 points

I finally built one of these. It cost me about $50, which I'm not entirely convinced was the right amount to spend on it. I kind of liked the overall construction. The Rathtars were a little cubey for my tastes, but once you have them lurking in doorways, they look ok. (Mainly because most of the body is hidden. Bala Tik and the Deathgang are nice to have. I like that you could potentially throw a few more sets together to make one enormous corridor. It's got a very modular setup allowing you to make your own custom play area. The hardest parts of the Rathtars to get would probably be the whips if you wanted to make more of your own. I've got another one of these sets sitting around and if I get bored enough someday, I might wind up with a big corridor. It's too bad that they put Han and Chewie in this set, only because it leaves the only unique characters in the Falcon Tasu Leech and the Kanjiklub guy. Speaking of, I kind of wish there were more Kanjiklub gang members (Those freaks?) I'm afraid that if anyone invested their money in these sets they'd have a hard time recouping the money. Just too expensive for a set that basically looks like nothing that was in the movie. open sides and narrow pathways makes it look more like a bridge than the inside of a ship. It's going to be hard to make anything on this investment. (Kanjiklub also wants their investment back.) Looking at them now I really do like the Guavian Death Gang minifigures. even though their masks remind me a great deal of an evil Target. What I really don't understand about this set is why a set that retailed for $79.99 gave almost every character a stud shooting weapon. Only Han gets a real blaster, Maybe it's because it is a playset instead of a vehicle or something collector oriented, but even kids have to know that stud shooters are dumb. (Tell that to Kanjiklub.)2 points

Only really worth buying RRP if it exceeds £300. Who knows? Maybe next Xmas. If it doesn’t I’ll just add the kwik-e mart to my modular town and make a small profit on the house.1 point

I really like the look of the diner.... but in the name of inclusivity, and to further the LGBTQQIAAPOMGBBQ agenda, LEGO will be forced to yield and we will get RuPaul's Drag Brick Race1 point

I would like to see the three RobenAnne creations released as a kind of secondary modular line, one per year. The Old Fishing Store was a fantastic build and it would be wonderful to have more sets to compliment it. My young kids loved playing with it more than any other set to date. Both of them were fascinated with all of the details and had fun creating scenes with it. The book is clever but would need significant polishing before release to be viable. The Jaguar is nicely done and seems to be the most likely to actually get selected, barring any licensing issues.1 point

The set's on clearance at Wal-Mart, it didn't sell well even when marked down before Christmas, and in the next few years, we've got several new movies that each require new toys, not to mention refreshing stuff from prior masterpieces like attack of the clones. I'd be incredibly surprised if they revisit this to make a similar set with different characters. With jabba's palace and the rancor pit, at least it was different actions being performed.1 point

I am a huge simpsons fan and have 15 of these stashed but even I am surprised because the set had a pretty abysmal sales rank and simpsons minifigures haven't been setting the world on fire. i think what has saved this set is all the trash-talking that went on about how the simpsons is a washed up theme/idea and came out during the general trend away from larger sets. with a decently low seller count, already outperforming other $200 turds like ToO, Tumbler and Red5. 100% focused on AFOL. I have a dozen bought with vip and promoms and last 3 with ebay bux to cushion to the blow. here's hoping we finally have a $200 set that makes it to 2x msrp besides TH. here's hoping its not another post -EOL reseller fueled short-lived bump.1 point

You have to be more patient.DS didn´t get to where it is overnight. Until stock dries up, it will be at around RRP as Xmas has passed. Actually, sets that shoot up soon after retirement are more cause for concern as they just have higher to fall from....1 point

Desk display potential is key here. I think the original would just have been too large for what it "is" and Lego probably couldn't meet the price point they wanted. Unfortunate they had to scale it down, but I don't see that if it was any larger that the demand would have been that uch greater for the extra $$ it would cost on both ends. Edit: I would be interested to see if the mini 6285 from the 60th set fits in this bottle.1 point

If I didn't know what the original ship looked like, I would say this set is pretty great. Not really awesome as the ship still looks very medium level builder status. It's ok looking but I think there could have been an attempt as making the details less "Lego" and more natural.1 point

Uh, no. I really liked the character of Rey and am a fan. I just don’t think anyone should be able to be a master Jedi the day after learning about the Force. It’s that simple. Where is the struggle and drama if she just manifests deux ex machina powers for every threat?1 point

1. aiming a missile and beating a jedi is something totally different. luke could not beat Dart Vader in Ep.V and Ep. VI. 2. they could jump to other system and than jump back or they could ask other destroyer to jump into system in front of that rebel fleet. And still they could deploy the tie squadrons, there had to be hundreds of ties in Supremacy. 4. the official statement from disney was, that Snoke is stronger than Vader and Emperor. 5. and what luke, finn and other learned from their failures? Only character making any psychological progress is Poe. 8. no, the only statement supporting your statement, that mark is OK with the movie was the one from 26th December released on his twitter, which in my opinion is only damage control from Disney. He repeatedly said he does nt like the story of his character in episode 8 and if you saw his reactions after the premiere, than there is no doubt whether he was happy about the movie or not. As per what would I do, I am nto a screenwritter, as Rian, but should it be on me, I would at least try to come with a plot and use the plot points I have from Episode 7. He just negated everything new and obscurely unexplained. Who is Snoke? Noone. Who is Phasma - not important. Who is Rey - Noone. What did Luke do all the time - nothing. What is the political story behind FO - not important. Where are the other Empire officers escaping to Unknown Regions in Aftermath - not important. Who are Knights of Ren - not important. Do we have any new character or plot point? No. Did he managed to settle the death of Carrie Fisher? No. etc. etc. Do you want to know what would be cool story for Last Jedi? Just one idea right out of my mind. Let Rey fall to dark side with Kylo Ren manipulated by SNoke, bring the ******* Thrawn from unknown regions as an emissary of Chiss as a support force against the Snoke, let the Thrawn and Luke join together, Luke challange the Snoke resulting in death of Luke in combat but turning Kylo Ren back to light, so he is the Last Jedi, fighting on the side of Thrawn who fought on side of Anakin Skywalker against Snoke and Rey in Episode IX. I have seen again for tenth time or so Rogue One and that story is so much better than Last jedi, that it is unbelievable, that it was produced by same company. Empire beeing dangerous and threatening, space battles making sense, decent humor for adults and psychology of characters making sense... omg.1 point

Tiresome and old? The movie came out 2 weeks ago. I have no problem with the tracking through hyperspace idea. That’s something that could conceivably be achieved in time. But getting something as basic as ships only move forward in space with fuel wrong shows the complete lack of care that went into this. They get that people generally die of exposure in space unless you have Force powers. Star Wars generally gets physics right and is partly appreciated for seeming like a plausible place. Even the Force is rooted in something quasi scientific with the midi chlorians. This glaring fuel in space screw up would be a minor thing if it didn’t undermine the entire premise of the main plot of the movie. I wish Lucas was still involved story wise. His absence is becoming more telling as Disney either remakes his previous movies or shows its doesn’t understand its characters the moment it’s not remaking them. My sense is a lot of people are finding a new appeeciation for the truly risky and innovative prequels compared to Disney’s original trilogy lite. Though it doesn’t copy the plot of Empire the way Force Remakens copied New Hope, there is still an awful lot of Empire in the DNA of Last Jedi. Johnson seems to think he’s being clever by doing some of that movie slightly differently while also borrowing the best parts of Return of the Jedi. Johnson and Abrams are good at visualizing the story they have, but Lucas is still miles ahead on the ideas front. How id love to see either director directing a Lucas script.1 point

LEGO's design has a very traditional feel. I like it. Also being able to acquire a nice assortment of those transparent dome parts is quite good for many builds. About the studs as water, that is a technique used by many MOCers for I don't know how long. I honestly do not see any other way one could simulate flowing water with LEGO in something so encased.1 point

It's one from a reliable source over on eurobricks. All we know is there are multiple sets and they are planned for the second half of 2018.1 point
