Well..I'll give it a shot here. If you sell on amazon not a bad way to build some metrics. Easy to ship off to FBA... remember that members on here sell on different platforms. Don't allow your buying decisions to be swayed by casual mentions on here of what people are buying.6 points

I watched this over the weekend on Netflix. Four episodes so far. Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man, GI Joe. All were fascinating on how these things got made. I think quite a large percentage of users on this site would get something out of it. If anything a fond memory of being a kid. I recommend it.5 points

Was able to move all my 75101 First Order TIE Fighters over the course of a couple days this past weekend. Priced them to sell at $70 and they flew off the proverbial shelf. Buy-in was $30 during Barnes and Noble clearance last year. Locally sold a Smaug and Laketown set together for $200 as well. I'm happy to see the stock dwindling down, but I think my T1 Campers and Tower Bridges might get buried with me.3 points

Built a fence! Last month, we had some incredibly strong winds here in SoCal and it knocked my fence over. My neighbor and I, after getting a construction quote and realizing his deductible was too high, decided to rebuild the fence ourselves. We finally finished up yesterday. I had never built a fence. He’s done it a few times. I think it turned out really well. Although the post hole digging took a lot out of this old body.3 points

A lot will have to do with the minifigure selection they put in the various sets. I see the D2C having the most affect on 4842 as you will be able to get a better version of the castle for the same as current New prices. That will knock it down a peg. If we're truly getting a Great Hall, I'm not sure that will mess with much as there isn't anything it's directly rehashing. The Ford set won't mess with anything outside of maybe Privot Drive and if you're still sitting on those you are a certified hoarder. If it is simply the Whomping Willow scene it will be gold for anyone wanting to add that to their castle. The Aragog set may mess with Forbidden Forest, but only if we see similar figures. The great thing about many of the Harry Potter sets is that they aren't adversaries to each other, but can be used in conjunction so much better than other themes to add onto your castle. The early versions did a great job of this giving you many of the different rooms. If the new D2C has a basement and includes a Basilisk/Chamber of Secrets it could be really freaking cool. I should probably curb my enthusiasm, however.2 points

I think the prices on the old sets are going to plummet. If any of you decide to save yourselves and get what you can for them, PM me. I might act as a good Samaritan and take them off your hands for you.2 points

Stolen from EB, who stole it from the Brick Show: Here are descriptions/names for all 17 of the coming LEGO Series 18 minifigures. One cool thing to mention, all of these come on an orange baseplate, not black as they typically do. Red Suit Brick Guy – in a red 4×2 brick, holding a blue 1×1. Police Officer – old LEGO style, exactly like the one in LEGO set 600. He’s holding a printed 1×2 tile picturing LEGO set 600. Elephant Suit Girl – female wearing elephant suit, with a pink tutu and holding a mouse. Rocket/Firework Guy – male wearing a rocket/firework that is blue, top of firework is red and his pants are dark grey. Star/explosion printing all over in yellow. Red Dragon Suit Guy – cool looking red dragon suit with black spikes on his tail and horns. Red wings attach to the back. Your going to love the head mold, the dragon looks tough. Birthday Cake Guy – guy in a birthday cake wearing a light blue suit, gold hat and bow-tie. Pink icing splattered print on his torso. No legs, all cake. Race Car Guy – guy wearing a blue and white racers outfit as a molded red race car is attached between his torso and legs. Pretty cool look. Race car has a white fin and some printing on it. Flower Girl – girl dressed as a dark pink flower. New mold that fits over her head with face coming through the middle of the flower. Green torso to match coloring of the stem. No legs, she attaches to a clay flower pot. Blue Brick Girl – in a blue 4×2 brick, holding a red 1×1. Blue Unicorn Knight – male dressed as a blue unicorn. lol. Comes holding a gold sword and a white shield with a white unicorn printed on it. Orange Balloon LEGO Fan Boy – not a costume at all. Boy with short legs, green glasses. His torso is white but printed with light blue minifigure heads and a multi-color tie. He comes with an orange balloon and 2 LEGO Series 1 minifigure pack printed 1×1 tiles. Also comes with a printed birthday present. This one is going to be easy to feel for with all these accessories. He is wearing shorts using a multi-tone colored legs. Spider Suit Guy – could actually be female, can’t tell. All black suite with white spider web printing on torso.Head mold has 4 molded and printed spider eyes on top of head. Also two fangs colored dark grey molded into head piece. Comes holding a black spider and an eight-legged mold attaches to back of figure. Purple Balloon Girl – the compliment to the Orange Balloon LEGO Fan Boy. However, this girl doesn’t like LEGO. Here torso printing is just multi-color square on a white shirt. She is wearing light blue shorts using a multi-tone colored legs. Wearing a purple birthday hat. Accessories are a purple balloon, donut, cookie and a birthday gift. Cactus Girl – girl wearing a new molded cactus piece. The arms on the torso are also new, as they look like an extension to the cactus with no hands. Green legs. Cowboy Suit Guy – Cowboy with white hat. A horse attaches between his legs and torso so it looks like he is riding on a horse. Horse mold does no carry through to the back. Brown legs. Balloon Artist Clown – Fun clown! Wearing a light green top-hat with a purple flower printed on it. Orange and purple torso printed vest. Orange coattails attach to his legs and carry about an inch off of him in the back. Red bow-tie attaches to his neck. Light green legs to match his top-hat. The best part is he comes holding balloons that he has twisted into dogs. Cat Suit Guy/Girl – I cannot tell if this is male or female. Looks almost exactly like Slyvester the Cat. Comes holding a blue fish.2 points

A bee for Valentine's Day seems an odd choice to me unless LEGO is trying to send the message "love stings". Then again a build of Cupid would be such a tried & tired cliché. Still it is rather adorable.1 point

The aftermarket prices should continue to dive. These were just made available on Hamley's website for sale to UK and Europe (not sure if all Europe). I'll buy one once they get below US$20 shipped.1 point

I already replied he is trying to compare apples with bananas as sales data updated in November will be lower than at the end of December due to supply drying up after first retirement and due to Xmas demand. A quick look shows NO SALES above 200 quid prior to 29th November. After that, things got interesting. Why would people pay more than RRP for a set at a time when they could easily find it at SAH or in TRU?1 point

Ferrari will do fine. Got 2 (only) a couple of years back when the UK price was lower. Gonna cost people £100+ on Ebay already and not a ridiculous amount of sellers at the moment.1 point

Salazar is the only Brickhead not to have moved to retired or sold out status yet, so I´ll take that as a win. Where do I claim my prize?1 point

I think it has more to do with the credible assumption these sets will not be remade. And yes, KWEM is an awesome set.1 point

My childhood 6285. I know I have all the parts, but still looking through my bulk for some of the parts. When I got it as a kid, my dad built it with me so this was my first time truly assembling it myself. I'll take a picture when I get it finished. My main goal was to have it done before the 60th set comes out and I can build the mini-model.1 point
