Stopover on the way to Orlando at a Target in Southern Tennessee landed me 1x70601 Ninjago Sky Shark. Wasn't giving a price on any of the scanners (wall-mount, employee, register). Guys at electronics said it was scrapped merchandise and I wouldn't be able to buy it, but the lady at CS found an online price and managed to print an "Online Item" 30% off sticker to make my purchase price $11 (website price was $16.49, RRP $19.99). Set is down to last 5 sellers on Amazon, with only 1 FBA for $60 so score!6 points

Amazon gave them free Lego then helped them sell it at extortionate prices then lost the items and blamed the sellers,5 points

I’ve learnt from last year this is a great time to be regularly visiting your usual Lego stores since this is when end of year inventory is done in preparation for new stock and you can get an odd gem that appears which someone forgot to put out on the floor in the Xmas rush. Also helps to be nice and ask staff to check out in the back. Hence why I ended up with 4 x 41179’s as opposed to just the one that was on the shelf. Although I do regret not loading up on these about 6 weeks ago at TRU when they were doing their 20% off, given that they are now doing about 2 x RRP already. But can’t complain with my four, although my daughter has already eyed it up along with the Water Dragons that I also manage to snag. Will need to ensure that these are stored away properly!2 points

Nope...I picked up my 75192 sept 26th and also got the e-mail about November..then called customer service and was told "your card is being printed in Germany and should arrive before dec 25th"...and...Nnnope! i was also told that if it didn't arrive by the new year to call lego again and just got off the phone...and was told to continue to wait but that they'd print another card anyways....that second card is expected by the end of February Meanwhile....at the first sign of a Card in my mailbox I was instructed to call lego back to confirm...so I'm guessing however this plays out I'm getting two printed numbered cards with my Vip number on it as well...so who knows?...maybe they'll deactivate one card...or maybe it doesn't matter.2 points

Northern Italy is like a bermuda triangle for retired lego. It all goes there and only you bring it out!2 points

They are pretty cheap on EBay. I think I got mine for $60 and I added a $15 set to use the $15 off $75 coupon a few weeks back.2 points

For the record, pick up was in a pretty shady part of town. I'm sure the cash went to good use...1 point

No lol. I've been finding little obscure shops with stock that's gone from all big stores.1 point

I like some of them but certainly wouldn't collect them all. My biggest frustration is that most of the ones I actually would like are SDCC exclusives. At least funko pop have standard releases of characters and just have special versions for SDCC.1 point

Surprised at how the votes are, so far. I put down Architecture. I loved that series a couple of years ago. Now, not really. I enjoy microbuilds, but the skylines just don't work for me. I'd rather have more awesome buildings, like The Louvre, than the Shanghai skyline. There are so many great monuments around the world that could be built. It's a shame they just aren't making them like they used it.1 point

Credit goes to rakrondewl, after his project didn’t get the votes on Lego Ideas; he kindly shared the LDD with the public. Only issue is that the LDD file uses quite a few out-of-production parts and non existent parts. However it’s been fun trying to find alternative parts or building techniques to get it built. The eye design came from another moc I’ve seen.1 point

I looked into this a couple years back ( I was toy manager at a local comic book store). Lego has super strict rules on resellers. Basically, you have to have had an existing business for something like five years, Lego cannot exceed approximately 10% of your total sales, and you have to order from all Lego themes, you cannot pick and choose. These were the main requirements, but there was literally a couple pages of stipulations and rules to follow.1 point

Got a used 7662 Trade Federation MTT, a 7675 AT-TE, and about 40 lbs of semi completed sets and bulk to sort through for $100 today. Was a pretty good score, and I'm seeing some promising parts in the bulk so I'm excited to see what else I've got in there.1 point

Spot on. Perhaps my expectations were high but I at least expected a well written movie. You would think a billion dollar franchise would pick a director/writer that had more credits than Looper. I only thought TFA was decent. It at least made me want to watch the next movie. I definitely can say the Last Jedi has not made me look forward to the next movie. Are there any mysteries left? Unless the 3rd movie does something crazy like turn Rey to the dark side, we can pretty much guess how the trilogy will end.1 point

True, but it will still have a better CAGR than the Beetle and an 8 year shorter shelf life....1 point
