  3. To those who haven't seen it yet... yesterday #trending5 globally. Those bunch are the reviewers that Rian "Some Guy" Johnson was afraid of... One of the best reviews out there. You can play it as a podcast but back to back is a great review to see/hear.

  5. Agreed - It is pretty inexcusable to allow the first two movies of a supposed trilogy to go from one extreme of respecting the traditions of Star Wars to the total disregard of them. If you want to make crap, make crap - but at least make it consistent crap.

  6. 4 trees total. Spent $22 in points and $52 in cash to get them. Received $207 in points. Hoping to get $60 total for the trees. Bought $350 MSRP of LEGO for those points, with $30 left in points. Net result: $8 cash (hopefully), $30 in points and $350 worth of LEGO.

  7. Finally finished! Holy cow, it’s a beast! Frankly I love it. Wish it had gotten more love. Sooooo steampunk. As steampunk as LEGO will ever get, I bet. Great build. Very interesting the entire time. Fantastic detail throughout.

  9. It was 62.50 at my store but couldn't pick up online. Luckily I checked brick mortar . In for 3.

  10. Same happened to me last night for the 2 I ordered. My store told me they will honor the price when they get more stock in, just to bring a copy of the order. Would like to think that’s not a YMMV thing, but don’t know. I do think it’s ridiculous TRU online doesn’t just change it to a back order status vs flat out cancelling.

  11. They need to re-make Rainman and instead of “Kmart sucks” they could update to “TRU sucks”.

  12. Why so cynical? I believe they will only be produced for customers who buy within the next ten days. I bought mine online day one and still have no card.

  15. Only 23 sellers on UK Ebay and lowest price £60-ish. Almost all sellers are wanting more than that. Looks promising.

  16. We are talking about the black VIP card, not the set. The VIP card shouldn't take this long to produce. Period.

  18. Interesting video from the Modular Buildings nerds/fans. Too bad the quality is terrible, but some insights from the designer.

  19. I just had to look up on Steam and see if that was real. ....Good lord, it really is! Haha. I love how the animation of opening up the loot crates mimics Overwatch's style.

  20. That's a great strategy. I recently sold about 15 sets a day or so for the month of December and both my kids thanked me for the opportunity to make some extra $$ but looked at the pile of sets to be packed and shipped and walked the other way. I can't wait to sell my other 5000 sets...

  21. LEGO inflated the basic price for small SW sets with 2 minifigures from 19.99GBP basic price which was present on the market for quite a while to 25.99GBP starting from 2018. So that's the brilliant new blockbuster idea that the New CEO come up with? Inflate the price by 25% add 10 extra 1x1 pieces and we are good to go...? I wanted to buy some TLJ sets for myself but after this disastrous failure from Rian "some guy" Johnson I will keep the money in my pocket.

  22. It took a phone call and bad codes locking up my coupon capability, but my Christmas tree fun looks like this... 2 trees @ 39.99 = 79.98. 20% discount gets it to $63.98. Since the coupons weren't working last night the rep used my $48 in points and made up the difference (no sales tax:). So I'm out of pocket $48 in points and get $117 back. Net $69 + 2 Christmas trees that are on OfferUp for $25 and we have buyers for both (hopefully) coming to get them tomorrow. My wife's buy was similar but she had to spend $47 in points and discounted GC, and she netted up $73 + 2 Christmas trees. If the trees sell for $25@, that nets us $242 (100 cash + 142 in points). Thanks Phil B! And to tie it back to Lego, we had the last 10742 available in my cart to get us to $100 to use a $18/100 free cash offer, but it was gone by today, so they credited us an extra $20 in points.

  23. Probably a combination of being hoarded and overproduced relative to demand. Not a great IP. I passed on them when they hit clearance at B&N because there hadn't been appreciation.

  27. 3 hours ago, Goofball814 said: Yes, there will be clearance deals. Just pay attention here, you'll hear all about it. If you're serious about this game, then yea, take off the day. But there'll be lots of sales for a month afterwards. There's always something to buy. We usually know about it before the Walmart employees do. "Every year for the last 4, my Walmarts have had massive sales on the day after Christmas. I usually just pick up one of each that I want and head to TRU for price matching so I can use gift cards." Not specifically calling out the poster, but price matching clearance prices is against pretty much every store's rules, and I would strongly discourage you from trying it, as it's sketchy behavior - even if your store somehow does it.

  28. They used to, but the past 2-3 years this has not been the case (in my local area anyway, which is Green Bay, WI). Most of the big retailers around here wait until early to mid February and almost into March to start putting toys on clearance to make room for the new summer items. I'd plan on working next Tuesday, but keep an eye on the site. If anything major does drop immediately after the holiday I'm sure you'll here about it here first. I'd be surprised if anything happens right away though. Most stores figure that people have gift cards to burn so why mark stuff down for dirt cheap?

  33. It has been available for less recently (e.g., from TRU or LEGO Shop at Home with the cashback promos), though I doubt something similar will appear again before this retires. You might also wish to look on eBay for any auctions, as they often end at around £180 - £190. If this set does get cleared at 50% off I'm getting in on that action. Already got one for £140, but the box is ruined (knew when I bought it).

  34. Massive box and 600 feet of kraft paper to ship a bb8 and an elves set. That would have cost me $60 to ship. How do they do it?

  35. Any LEGO she's bought between 2011-2015, and some from 2016 depending on when they were bought & sold, can be treated as a long-term capital gain while sales of items purchased less than a year ago get treated as short-term capital gains and taxed as ordinary income, no?

  37. The confusing part is that TFA tried too hard to please fans and TLJ in turn spits in their face. There is a middle ground that hopefully can be made out of Ep. 9. The problem is that the next film completely rests on the shoulders of Rey and Ren. Their story by the end of TLJ isn't all that interesting. It's basically been told in two films. Honestly, what is there to look forward to in Ep. 9? Killing off R2-D2? It wouldn't surprise me.

  43. Glad I have TRU Bricktober classic minifigs now; that boxer will go very well with this set. Also, it isn't a corner, the connection is built into the wall by the stairs, so there!

  46. That would suck, but the problem is they have not made their online shopping very competetive, other than the few times per year when they have sales. Why buy a lego set from them online, or in the store, when you can get them on amazon for 20% cheaper. Their model is doomed to fail unless they adapt.
