  13. 115 USD on Assmazon and only the 3 sellers. That´s an easy 7.5 times RRP in a year. Something we are unlikely to see repeated. Meanwhile, in Europe you can only find it at Amazon.de for 100 euros. If someone has told me one year ago that a Bionicle and an Elves set were going to be the best performers of the year, I´d have laughed long and hard.

  14. Not to suggest World's Best didn't buy at some sort of a discount, but RRP was $84.99 on that set. Buy box is now $15 above that and fees would drop their takeaway to below RRP.

  15. Unfortunately this is with mail delivery, and from SVM who are notoriously slow, but $100 B&N GC for $90 on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Barnes-Noble-Gift-Card-For-Only-90-FREE-Mail-Delivery/302558694911?epid=594278213&hash=item4671e74dff:g:arQAAOSwr~lYnG5O Note: Not eligible for EBay Bucks, in case people start asking.

  18. Another great amazon.ca deal: Yellow Submarine @ $42.14, from Amazon.ca... even better: same item, sold by "TS Toys N Gadgets" for $42.30 - fulfilled by Amazon, and the seller must not have asked for Amazon.ca to collect taxes, so for me, that's a 15% savings! I just ordered two more - expect this to do well post-retirement. My tip of the day is that many Amazon.ca third party sellers don't charge tax - you have to add to cart and proceed through checkout process (without completing) to tell which do and which don't...

  22. Hmmm ... time to check for some straggling 50% off inventory. Combines nicely with the 15% off GCs I picked up this morning during the Raise sale .... Though the T&Cs exclude "select LEGO sets" so this might be YMMV: *Applies to Member 10% discount only, which will be doubled to 20% on Barnes & Noble Store transactions occurring December 14-17, 2017. Does not apply to Member 40% discount on hardcover B&N Store Bestsellers. The December 14-17, 2017 In Store Member Double Discount is not available on purchases of the following: products or services at BN.com; products or services at any Barnes & Noble College bookstores or websites; Gift Cards; eGift Cards; digital content (including but not limited to eBooks, digital magazines and periodicals); other hardware and electronics; software; downloadable audiobooks in MP3 or any other format; select LEGO[emoji768] products, and select Toys & Games products, gift-wrapping fees; shipping and handling fees; or Membership fees (new or renewal). The Member Double Discount will be applied after all eligible discounts and deductions (e.g., non-Member discounts, seasonal sale discounts, etc.) are applied, except for eligible coupons or where otherwise noted. Eligible coupon discounts will be applied after the Member discount. The Member Double Discount cannot be used in conjunction with any corporate or prearranged group discounts, unless specifically stated. Such exclusion includes the following, without limitation: Educator discounts; employee discounts; corporate or institutional discounts. Memberships are for individual use only and are non-transferable. No cash value. Void where prohibited. See a bookseller for details.

  27. I’m actually buying this for Xmas, so I’m glad I was able to snag one at the retail price. Dang resellers jacking up the price!! Who do they think they are?!?!?

  28. LOL I think we've been squeezed pretty hard since Black Friday from Amazon, TRU and LEGO for our money. Honestly though, TRU and LEGO is not doing themselves a favor by all these discounts. Now who on earth will pay retail price when they have been brain washed with constant discounts of 25%+ in the last 6 weeks and more coming as we approach boxing week and whatever desperate measures TRU is gonna pull to pay vendors and restructure.

  33. Nope, patient resellers are poorer off than the impatient ones who sold in 2015 at the height of TFA hype and before the Chinese flooded the market with copies. Really really patient resellers will just be rewarded by a Lego remake. Sad, but that´s where the market for large sets is these days.

  38. World's Best was a problem last year but seems to have grown a lot... I'm not sure if they're worse than Toy Planet, though. TP tends to have less SKUs but much deeper inventory. For example, TP parked 400+ of 10686 within the last day or two at ~$43.... Price was rising quickly to ~$55+ last week. World's Best tends to have something like 20-80 units. TP routinely shows up on a listing with a single unit or two per day volume with 100+ units and just destroys the price. I remember a year--maybe 2 years ago it was--when 9497 was bouncing off $100 FBA and TP showed up with however many hundreds. All the way down to $65 now, some year or two later. 10512 is another classic, it was happily making its way toward $50 FBA going into the holidays: https://camelcamelcamel.com/LEGO-DUPLO-Jakes-Treasure-10512/product/B00C9X592U Down to 19.99 (retail was 14.99) with 300+ units. Often no one is even challenging or matching their prices, they could easily move up...but I guess when you have so many units... Sigh...

  39. It might state what you bought, and nothing more, but people still probably won't care. But go for it if it keeps you happy. I think most of us take everything you say with a wheelbarrow load of salt now anyway, so keep on talking. It's all cool, because you're better than all of us anyway, so what do you care?

  40. these spaceports are doing great. quick post EOL bump from the BN 50% off + 5% member discount + discount gc deals earlier this year. recent fba: $12 buyin city snowplow trucks for $49 quickily. even the porta potty truck is getting $49 now. sold through a dozen $12 buyin scooby doo planes for $44 and $9 buyin scooby mummies for $44. haunted light house for $105. all out of scooby except for a few dozen mystery machines for the long haul. scooby has been doing great.

  41. No matter what the exclusive promotion is, just wait for the internet backlash from everyone who (weren’t going to buy one anyways) complains about how it was impossible to buy one because they didn’t make enough and now they’re missing out on some awesome promo. A little sarcasm but when LEGO stopped taking backorders or putting people on wait lists, they have to be able to predict some anger if the exclusive benefits are any good at all.

  45. Just some inside info I've got today. (I don't know if this is the right thread for that but let's try) Some of them are rather disappointing. 1. No More Millennium Falcons Delivery until end of the year in UK and probably rest of the Brand Stores across the Europe. The last delivery scheduled for Q4 (few boxes per store) was delivered to majority of the stores last week and yesterday, already gone in most of the brand stores (London is gone). If you are from other regions of UK call your local (or nearest) store to check the status to make sure whether they have it in stock or not. NO RESERVATION LISTS ALLOWED. 2. There will be NO Designer Launch Day for Taj Mahal, just a regular ordinary one without the presence of the Designer Team. 3. Christmas Toy Shop are gone from most of the stores without further delivery scheduled pick up one before it's too late! It's already retired and won't be back for sure. 4. THERE WILL BE NO (UNSCHEDULED) 3X VIP EVENT IN DECEMBER. TLG is already satisfied with the current state of sales in 85% of the stors, they don't have overstock so sadly no 3x VIP to boost sales this year. confirmed for those who are anxious about Black VIP cards, those will be issued as well in 2018 if you will call with such request CS. (at least in January) now I realized I forgot to ask about the legitimacy of the Diner (new Modular) set. ehh... next time.
