  1. The forums are so repetitive these days. A handful of people who just regurgitate the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.....

  2. I'm working on the "2018" edition of this thread. I'm going to keep it "clean" - no discussion, just posts stating that a product is retired. This is what I believe we need for a post: Set Name, Date Retired, Region retired, and screenshot of the set name with "Retired Product" Sound good? Anything else? I'll take care of having an index thread stickied at the top, with links to the posts and links to the discussion threads for each set.

  4. Lack of reading and comprehension is clearly a requirement for eBay customers. I sold a used 75105 MF that I picked up in a bulk lot. Listed as used and described as such, with a picture of a built set on my table. Guy emails me some threats the day it arrived. I explain to him step by step how to request a return on eBay. He lacks reading comprehension so he files a paypal case instead. After a few days I call paypal to ask them what to do, and they escalate it and give the guy 10 days to provide a tracking number. On the 9th day of him receiving reminders from Paypal he finally submits a tracking number. He assumed I would have to reimburse him for shipping so he sent it the most costly way he could, USPS express 1 day. Paypal already ruled he was an idiot who couldn't read, so I only had to refund the purchase price. They changed his return case from SNAD to a normal return. I can only imagine the hell he's given them about how he was misled and now he's out shipping for an item that he believed to be new. I wonder if his verbal communication is as poor as his written? +1 to paypal for their handling of the case.

  5. I can only imagine what the different departments are like: Sales - we need to offer discounts so people buy more Marketing - let's put quantity discounts on everything Order Verification - hey, these people are buying multiples, no one needs multiples CEO - why are sales down? wash, rinse, repeat

  10. Check your mailboxes, and by mailboxes I mean actual physical “snail mail” boxes. I received a holiday card from Barnes & Noble with a $10 gift card in it! Glad I opened it, I usually just toss B&N stuff in the trash assuming it’s 20% off coups that don’t work on Lego.

  15. Folks, calm down. You are getting your statuses all wrong: - Normal product, "Sold Out" -> means there is no confirmed backorder date (yet) - Normal product, "Backordered" -> means a new shipment has been planned, the reported date is when it's supposed to arrive - "Retiring soon", "Call to Check" -> part of the dance - "Retiring soon", "Sold Out" -> Almost done dancing - "Retiring soon", "Retired Product" (EU version) -> Likely retired, unless we find some more in the back or Tabby sends back a shipload, in which case it goes back to "Available" - "Retiring soon", "Retired Product" (US version) -> Done.

  22. I have had the exact opposite experience. I ordered 6 items from TRU and so far have received 5 items in 5 separate packages, with the 6th item delayed. Of the 5 I have received there were 3 Brickheadz in various packaging from bubble mailer to a box that was about 18x16x8. Seems like an expensive way to do business...

  23. "Over Production" is finally catching up to reseller demand... They may have cranked up production and over forecasted since demand was all stock up demand :-) Must be a nightmare trying to manage forecast inventory/production levels

  24. Nope, proper tracking on every shipment. Tiny box, costs me $90 per year (and I use it for one of my other businesses). If it doesn't fit, they leave a note in my box and I have to go and get my package from the counter (or sometimes they leave a little key for one of the larger boxes which will hold my shipment).

  26. It follows the exact same pricing difference shown already with Brick Bank (£130 in UK, €150 in Germany, €170 in The Netherlands). Maybe the Danes are scared the Germans will invade them again if the Germans don't get preferential treatment!

  30. So last year I think that there were 2 sale days, one the last week of November and the other around the 20th of December. The December sale was 50% off ALL LEGO , which sold out fast of course. I ended up using their website to price match at TRU. This year no such luck as none of the 40% discounts seem to be on the Fred Meyer website. From what I saw today nobody wants Lego Batman Movie clayface, tail-gator, or two-face demo sets. Dozens of carbon freezing chambers sat all morning at 50%. Microfighters, mighty micros sat as well. City and Minecraft were GONE.

  34. Finally built a Saturn V rocket. That thing is massive but pretty well designed. I though the instructions could have been better in some places, I made several mistakes and had to go back and rebuild, which almost never happens. Maybe I'm just getting old and losing it!

  35. No matter what the exclusive promotion is, just wait for the internet backlash from everyone who (weren’t going to buy one anyways) complains about how it was impossible to buy one because they didn’t make enough and now they’re missing out on some awesome promo. A little sarcasm but when LEGO stopped taking backorders or putting people on wait lists, they have to be able to predict some anger if the exclusive benefits are any good at all.

  40. I think they did the video for this much better than that piece of crap they made for the Toy Shop rerelease. Short and to the point.... “We didn’t really do anything new other than make it easier to build. This helps us maximize our profits at the expense of the consumers who won’t be able to benefit from new parts or build techniques to have an even nicer model.” (Feeling a little snarky after some fat ass decided to not return his cart in the Rona parking lot and leave it right next to my car and then having to stop for some **** who decided he had the right of way while driving across the parking spots instead of designated lanes. Tis the season to experience morons while out doing some errands.)
