25% off RRP at a local Mom and Pop. They have a rewards program now, so I generated a few $10 off gift cards to stack on these. Effectively the gc at least took care of quite a bit of the sales tax. I finally unloaded the truck.3 points

Been up for a while, but the kids had finally left it in a state that worked for pictures (after a few adjustments). Still don’t know where the train and station will fit. Currently built with no home.2 points

No. I'm thinking you are actually living in 1-5 years in the past and you merely travel into the future (today) to tell us what you just picked up as a new release back then.2 points

WHAT IF...Exciter isn't actually going back in time to pick up his sets, but is actually traveling into the future/present to tell us about his purchases....?2 points

Unfortunately it is no longer working, though I'm hopeful there will be another code for Cyber Monday. In retrospect, Rakuten offered a 30% code around one month ago, which means this set was a better deal then since it was the same discounted price before the promo code. Despite the hype, Black Friday is not the "be-all end-all" of sales, although there have been some good markdowns as well.2 points

@landphieran I'd say your UPS driver is just being a crybaby. I've always heard UPS driver is one of the best paying jobs in the world for basically just driving around 90% of your day. Lately he doesn't have time to flirt with that hot receptionist on his route, so he blames you. I wouldn't change a thing. Keep doing what you're doing. If he starts missing pick ups, call and complain. If he whines to you anymore, hand him a job application for Walmart.2 points

Yes, have sold through quite some stuff the last few days by just matching bigger guys on the buy box. I think the BB depends on warehouse location as much as price, so if your stuff is in a different DC/FC which is closer to the potential buyer, you might be shown to that buyer as having the BB instead of TP.2 points

Well, I did not know Marcos Bessa had tattoos. The trees rooted up his right arm is interesting. As for the video, the style feels a bit more casual than previously done.1 point

a curiosity to share: 70905 Batman movie - The Scuttler is currently listed as out of stock on Czech website - but what caught my attention was that somebody adjusted the max limit per order to 10. Ive checked all other sets tagged as retiring and majority of them is listed with 20 or more (except exclusives such as Brickheadz max 5 or Kwik Markt also 5). Even that Elves Water Dragon that is out of stock with a note "call to check upon availability" is listed with max 20 per order. is it just a flaw or some tell sign..(in case of The Scuttler)?1 point

that was risk of Ferrari on cyber monday at 30. With it being 20 off the other 3 days good chance they wouldn't have by then. 20 off and nutcracker is to good to pass up. If they are around at 30 on Monday buy more!1 point

Paper is heavy and the literature may be the reason for the weight difference. Many moons ago in 2006 Lego had production issues of missing pieces in their kits. I had stored some 2006 kits for 3 years and when they sold I had a few customers complain of non-proprietary missing pieces so I weighed my remaining stock. To my surprise there were multiples of three different weights for the same exact kit. I telephoned Lego Shop at Home and the rep. told me that was due to the origin of kits being manufactured in different countries at different dates in time and because of different literature pamphlets in the kits. Of course missing a few pieces may have been the reason, and some were missing pieces also, but I did believe the Lego rep. to be correct. Moisture in the air can also affect the weight as it will saturate the cardboard.1 point
