  2. I've seen some reports of 2 for $5 minifigures at ToysRUs stores and they are having a decent flash sale on a few LEGO items right now. https://www.toysrus.com/toys/deals/flash-sale

  4. This is so fun watching people panic. We still have more than a month till Christmas with Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up, why drop the price to $39 FBA? After fees, that's selling at cost.

  7. In the email I received for this flash sale there is also mention of saving 10% off TRU/BRU Gift Cards purchased both online and in-store 11/15 - 11/19. Limit details NOT provided. Not as great as our paypal digital discounts, but better than nothing for those interested or already purchasing without additional savings. Confirmed seeing 10% discount. https://toysrus.cashstar.com/gift-card/buy/

  16. I bought 12 sets across 4 B&N's for a total cost of $30. All the big sets had gone (and I'm glad I pre-emptatively bought 2x21120 and 1x41039 at 60% off last weekend). 2x41110 Friends Bday Party, 5x Mighty Micros, 2x Friends Archery Practice, 1x Party Train, 1x Jungle Bike and 1 Angry Birds Piggy Escape just because. Using a 10% discounted GC and the member discount meant 80% off.

  17. Well I was about to have a rant about the 5th fraudulent sale in a month but you lot are already doing it. Since the first 3 (and one user taking 4 days to inform me, annoyingly one hour AFTER I'd posted it!!) I have been contacting buyers to ask if they are genuine. Also, I know I am not around here as much as I used to be - too busy sorting building and selling vintage Lego - but since when is TabbyBoy back on eBay. The last I read was that he gave them the finger

  18. This day and age, you'd be more apt to have the stuntman stolen than the LEGO.

  19. I second that. I had over $40k stolen from my warehouse last year and I "only" met eight buyers here for transactions. Maybe 12 people in the world knew what I had on hand. Sheriff's detective completely useless, no recovery or follow up on the leads I gave them. Now it's like Wonka's factory: nobody goes in, and nobody comes out.

  20. I think the chances that a year from now we'll be wishing we had bought more of these > the chance that anyone who bought a bunch of these will feel any significant pain.

  21. Just ranting here, and this is happens a lot. Newbie finds this site, joins the forum, and without taking 2 seconds to look around for an answer to something that's probably been answered before, or already has a dedicated thread, begins a NEW thread to ask a questions about a certain part, or set, or investing tips. This is just lazy and needs to stop. Quit enabling these folks, and kindly ask them to look around the site for a while, maybe suggest a thread, but should we really do the work for them? That is all. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day....day.

  29. Pack them away and give them to your kids when they have children themselves. If you have over 200 sets, your kids must have really loved lego, and may someday come out of what adult lego fans call their "dark ages", or at least enjoy seeing their kids play with them someday.

  30. Not sure if this works for everyone, but when I add the older creator sets with the current $20 (100), $30 (150) etc. it stacks with an additional $15 cashback >$100. The new ones with the latest release don't seem to work. Not too bad with them already %20 off. Example below shooting for around the $100 mark with those three sets.

  31. I have been tracking retirements this year and I disagree. We are only in mid November and about 80 sets are already done. BF will account for several more and so will Xmas build up and the first period of the post Xmas sale at 20%. I reckon the only sets that will make it to 50% will be Super Girls, Nexo and the odd Friends, City, Batman Movie or Star Wars buildable. Adventure Time is also a candidate and we don´t know how many Yellow Submarines are still in warehouse. Clone Turbo Tank and Phantom also have very good chances of making the cut. The non Nexo 50% off sets from last January were; 75150 A wing v Turd Fighter, 41122 Tree house, 41176 Secret Marketplace plus a few that came back into stock again and got marked down e.g. Doctor Who, Ecto...

  39. You would think that instant checkout would keep these types away from your particular store. I didn't get hit this time around but did a few weeks ago. Fortunately the process of cancelling and getting parts back in store is pretty easy. I have held off from instant checkout until the bugs are cleared. There has been a lot of complaining on the seller side in the forums about bug issues so I have stayed away. Thanks for the order, hope all went well. I'm 2 months in and really like selling on BL so far. I have sold on Ebay for about 15 years now, but this is new to me. What I do like is that for the most part, you are dealing with informed buyers/sellers so it generally runs very smoothly.

  40. I never have understood why people post pictures like this on their listing and enter their max quantity that they have. It's telling the potential buyer " I got plenty of these. No rush. Wait to see if the price drops further".

  41. At least that person did a better job of "creating" an address. For a second I had to think if Delaware and New York actually shared a border. My brain was going crazy trying to think of how and where they would touch! Also, I didn't want to do it, but I've just activated the New Buyers must use Instant Checkout (until they have a rating of 5). I only have this for smaller 1st class items but maybe that would deter some from possibly wasting my time.
