I flipped one, am holding one, and sent one for free to a random STEM teacher on Twitter who mentioned wanting one for her classroom. She seems confused and excited.5 points

Well, I’ve been quite busy for the past 6 months or so…but I have been slowly piecing together and building a train terminal that I purchased the instructions from on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Station-PDF-instructions-MOC-Building-City-Modular-/152374747648?hash=item237a3e2200). I also did some modifications and customized it a little bit by adding a comic shop and a small convenience store (with stickers from Brick Builders Pro (http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/). It was quite the project and I just finished it, so I thought I would show some pictures to you all. I had some help sourcing some of the parts from my local Bricks and Minifigs store. There are around 12,000-13,000 parts to the building. Eventually I plan on adding a 60051 High Speed Passenger train or two and doing some more changes/modifications to it….but I am going to save that for a later date.4 points

I have been tracking retirements this year and I disagree. We are only in mid November and about 80 sets are already done. BF will account for several more and so will Xmas build up and the first period of the post Xmas sale at 20%. I reckon the only sets that will make it to 50% will be Super Girls, Nexo and the odd Friends, City, Batman Movie or Star Wars buildable. Adventure Time is also a candidate and we don´t know how many Yellow Submarines are still in warehouse. Clone Turbo Tank and Phantom also have very good chances of making the cut. The non Nexo 50% off sets from last January were; 75150 A wing v Turd Fighter, 41122 Tree house, 41176 Secret Marketplace plus a few that came back into stock again and got marked down e.g. Doctor Who, Ecto...2 points

As Val-e has said, very typical for an autumn released technic set. I started buying this when asda had it for £60 last year, Tesco also had it for £62 in the april 3-for-2. The volvo has also seen 50% off on several occasions. Both stunning sets that IMO should do very well.2 points

Proving the point that any American with an Amazon vendor account can make money from selling Lego when Walmart inform you it is done AND reduce the price for you and Amazon sell it for you at vastly inflated prices!2 points

Can't remember if I saw this here already, but here you go: Best Buy - LEGO Dimensions 50% off If you have a Gamer's Club card, it stacks with an additional 20% off. If you change between mailing option and in-store pick up, you should be able to get an additional $1 off per item.2 points

I never get the buy or sell deals. Actually called on it and they said it was random. I complained that I am randomly left out every time and have been for 3 years.2 points

Looks like these 2 themes could be getting some much needed secondary market demand. ======= “Amazon has greenlit one show that it hopes to rule them all. The company has made a multi-season production commitment to a television adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy epic The Lord of the Rings.” https://www.reuters.com/article/us-amazon-com-lord-of-the-rings/amazon-to-produce-lord-of-the-rings-television-series-idUSKBN1DD293 http://ew.com/tv/2017/11/13/lord-of-the-rings-tv-series/2 points

Pretty cool, I've seen these little nano figures around, surprisingly heavy for such small figures. Batcave and Hogwarts are adorable haha, not something i want to start collecting, but i do like this display case for LEGO figures... hmmm2 points

great set and very true to its film counterpart. All of the droids / villains that have been made in the star wars buildable figures have been great as they look so realistic, the human ones are terrible!2 points

Seeing as this bad boy is now at 90 USD on Amazon.com and not even available in Europe, it deserves its own thread as the hero set of 2016. 6x RRP in 1 year sounds damn fine to me.1 point
-
but thats the most interesting (discount).. all this year in Europe LEGO regularly both tagged sets "retiring soon" + discounted them (20-30 % each at least).. but this time there isnt not just any discount, but like every third set doesnt get a tag either.. so Im not really that sure there will be any discounts.. It looks like a very strong effort to maximize the profit from the sales due to intermin report results..1 point

Got "a few" of these from a "few" asda stores for £3.30 earlier in the year. Been selling them for about £30. Also paid full rrp when i found more kicking about in other stores.1 point

You greedy Brits wanting even more LEGO stores ... The Netherlands hasn't got any LEGO store! TLG expects us to drive for a few hours to either Germany (Oberhausen or Essen) or Belgium (Wijnegem) for the D2C sets, seasonal sets and Ideas sets that are not sold in 3rd party toy stores in The Netherlands. If there's ONE country in Europe that finally deserves to get their own LEGO store it's The Netherlands!1 point

I was in London in the week of 23-28 of November and visited the Leicester Square store nearly daily. Bought amongst others the Assembly Square, Disney Castle, Brick Bank, Snowspeeder, and London Bus (Creator Expert version) boxes. And I did bring those big boxes with me in the Underground (Piccadily Line, then switch to Central Line at Holborn all the way to Gants Hill ). Got them back to the hotel unscathed despite going at rush hour. So... yeah ... it's possible.1 point

Why do you use clubcard vouchers on Lego, is that not increasing your taxable profit on sets? Would you not use it for the groceries, or to buy Avios points? And why can't we expect £11 spaceports, that's defeatist talk you1 point

I agree. One thing i've noticed on amazon, especially is that the amount of resellers are thinning quite a bit over the last year. Many have already cashed out and moved on. So, as the years go by, these will become more scarce, although there are a lot of used sets on ebay that people can pick up. I have yet to move any of my LOTR/Hobbit stock and I think i'm going to keep them for a while. I think we have one more year of sellers thinning out their stock before things really bounce up, and I think it will be a decent bounce up. Once someone cracks open a set and only gets part of the fellowship, they'll want the rest. Same with the Dwarves from the hobbit line.1 point
