  1. Work in progress. Happy with most everything except the engines. Keen eyes will also notice some custom modifications.

  2. For any Lego dimensions fans looking to get the latest wave at a good price, Target.com has stacking B2G1 discounts. Works out to a little more than 50% off, which I am guessing is the best we will see on the latest wave for a while.

  3. Ah, to remember when Tru would give you a palpatine's arrest or the creator truck for buying an exclusive Good times.

  4. I went to London with my family for a grand ol' time. Of course I also visited the Leicester Square Lego store, and a Toys'R'Us (which still had those TRU exclusive minifigures sets and the free Christmas tree promo thingy). And I managed to get 18 Lester minifigs as well for friends, colleagues and other interested people. The big boxes are all for my own collection! Funny to see how the mini London Bus was still sold at Leicester Square for 10 pounds with plenty of stock, while Hamleys was selling them for 15 pounds! I got a good (30%) discount on the Disney Castle, Brick Bank, Snowspeeder and London Bus sets. For the Assembly Square (already cheaper in the UK than in The Netherlands) I used my saved up VIP points to get it down to 135 pounds, or about €155. Disney Castle at 30% discount came down to 210 pounds, or €241 which is much cheaper than €350 in The Netherlands! All in all a great haul, even when I had to take those big boxes with me in the underground to get to the hotel where we were staying.

  9. My local TRU store manager would NEVER do this. They literally turn your money away in the face of bankruptcy here.

  13. Thank you for your kind words. I would certainly rather spend my time collaborating with people who are encouraging over people ripping others down. I have met some amazing and generous people on here I have learned from. I am grateful and wish you the very best!

  15. For those of you who found the sets covered by the 40% off coupon OOS, you might have luck if you go to the customer service desk in the store and ask to have the sets ordered. To my surprise, my wife was at our local store and said the CS rep ordered us the OOS sets we wanted (at the current discount prices, stacked with the 40%), to be shipped to our house. Also got 2 of the free R3-M2s and a Bricktober pack. Could very well be a YMMV situation, but that I should pass it along in case you want to try.

  19. One shop here was kind enough to keep back some 2016 elves and La Ferraris for me AND put on a sale. It would have been rude not to oblige.

  21. Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good investment with the last (deep sea) sets, but I didnt bought any of these Retired.txt

  23. Technically not a "buy" (though I'll have to pay income taxes over this win as Sears had me fill out a W-9), but this happened last week and arrived today:

  24. Lego seemed to changed completely the way they are managing the stock and production cycle for the sets that were initially planned to be considered later for EOL. Limiting completely productions from Q2 for certain sets that were planned to be discontinued initially that's why we missed the opportunities to see Retitiring Soon on many of those already retired this fall. Talked today with Leicester Sq supervisor and they've got indeed the list of sets that are going to be retired already because TLG is expecting them to rearrange the existing stock for the Christmas time without further delivery of those sets that are recalled or are intended to be recalled. No one wants to see the empty holes on the shelves especially in the store such as Leicester. I didn't see the list myself but there will be plenty of the sets weaving farewell. I'm still considering the list mentioned above as inconsistent and unreliable, but I'm gonna leave you in this guessing game. it certainly looks like you are enjoying that. Although I wanted to buy for myself the Halloween special set, but it was gone :S such a disappointment

  25. Neither. It's the 30% discount that a Lego employee gets when shopping in-store. They even get 50% discount when buying from LEGO Shop at Home ! And then they still get VIP points for their purchases as well. Through a contact I got a favour there. One time only, but I was really really happy with it!

  26. Yeah, YSB will only be similar in colour to Wall-E and post EOL performance is likely to be similar to Doctor Who and Ecto.

  27. Smaller items like keychains, seasonal items, yes. Larger sets, not very often, though the Classic Batcave is currently 25% off. If we were to get another one, it'd be within the next 30 days...

  28. Picked up these on ebay second hand. Nice build but, more importantly, fun and sturdy for the kids to play with, as long as they don't crash them!

  33. Thanks for the heads up. I got these last year in-store with Tesco 3-4-2 when they were reduced to £3.50? (£2.50?). No idea where i've put them. At the right price everything is a winner.

  34. how bout I just give you 2021 for now. It's small and easy to compile for me cause we are so far out and I'm sure it will grow many times as new sets come out each year. So might be a few alpha beta gamma lists til then. 21028 21030 21034 21035 21036 Least that will prevent a few people from stockpiling to early. Mods feel free to move to the retiring not so soon open speculation thread... or the TB, T1 threads will work

  36. Elves seems to be done up to 41185, but I'm no expert here. I have bought quite some of the older sets (up to 41180) because I thought they will be retired in 2016. Which didnt happen ^^ Architecture the same (no sets at all), but on my list are Berlin, Louvre, Venedig, Burj Khalifa

  37. This x100. I am pretty damn small time and don't have the capacity to visit stores all that much, and even I have scored almost 50 of these things (and sold most of them). I don't find it hard to comprehend at all that someone could have bought and sold hundreds of these given the right hustle, financing, and geography. Congrats on your success!

  39. I did finish the Ultimate Batmobile and took it home. No pics as I forgot. Still at hospital with the wife. Pulled out my used Black Pearl I've been piecing together. Pics below. I am missing Joshamee Gibbs, Davy's beard and Maccus hammer head top (one hand but should have one of those at home). Expect to finish this weekend. If anyone has a deal on the Joshamee, the beard and hammerhead part let me know. Thanks!

  44. The biggest disappointments for me are the 3 big TRU exclusives that are still on some shelves and pop back online every now and again...Deep Sea Ops Base, City of Stiix, and Technic Racing Truck. My buy-ins are very low due to stacking the sale price with Bricktober promo/TRUTH/$25 GC promo, but they are all still performing terribly.
