  1. My wife and I built the Destiny's Bounty over the weekend (I got through bag 2 and she kicked me off & did the rest). First time she has built a set herself (almost).... It's a beautiful set, most detailed of all the lego ships imho. I sat it next to the Imperial Flagship once I got it to work. The Flagship is still my fav but this easily beats out the potc ships. Can't believe I have a Ninjago set on display! Highly recommend this one.

  11. Marathon 3 day build to complete the Falcon! Total build time was around 20 hours and was actually a really straight forward build, nothing too complicated just lots of parts to look through for each set of bags. Really stoked - the ship looks amazing!

  26. Picked up TLBM minifig set from TRU. Was able to buy Ninjago week 1 Bricktober off the shelf and had that contribute to the $50 minimum. Had 30+ Ninjago on the shelf and 8 TLBM at customer service (I'm sure more were available). Probably not the best value, but glad to get the figs!!!

  27. Managed to basically get the mount to fit, it wasn't without it's issues.. Here's the mount and construction used for 10179: Main problem with 75192 and 10179 is that the frame won't match the two L brackets, these brackets hold most of the weight, so i need them both to rest on the frame (gap illustrated below) I did already add a large technic beam, otherwise you would see straight through the model on the left bracket. So i made a simple fill in with technic beams and plates: Put in place (view from top and bottom): I didn't have to change too much on the mount itself, the technic liftarms had to be moved around a bit, and i had to add a few more plates to the underside to make all the technic holes and pins line up properly. In the end this is what the "finished" mount looks like: And finally here the falcon is fully attached to the mount and sitting on the table with all landing gear off the ground, center of gravity is good, and the frame isn't bending terribly and no parts are popping off yet. Next step will be to "gravity proof" the set, as many of you know most of the panels and such and held in place by gravity, if turned on it's side some of these will fall off. Simple fix for many of the panels, but the center gun turret section will need to be completely redesigned as i don't have room to slot on the Technic liftarms it's built with, and the construction is a SNOT technique, so i'll need to do some brainstorming. Enjoy your thanksgiving weekend Canadians!

  29. Hi all. Lurked for a long time but finally stumbled upon a deal I didn't first see here first so I figured I'd post and maybe contribute for once. Shopko.com has all three 2017 Advent Calendars - City, Friends and SW - for $18.88 each. http://www.shopko.com/catalog/search.cmd?form_state=searchForm&keyword=Lego+advent Shipping sucks but there's a code for free shipping for orders over $99 Had honestly never heard of Shopko as they've apparently never crossed into PA, but at that price, especially for the SW calendar, I wasn't about to pass it up. What could go wrong? Note, I've also had some beers tonight which could be playing into my optimism.

  30. I think for Lego, sets like Saturn V doesn't actually offer much in the way of profit. It’s more about giving back to the Lego community by creating cool sets that are inspired by Lego fans and are not actually attached to any theme. The opportunity to create long-term value for Lego is not there in these sets and not worth the extra production cost to increase the amount available for sale. This is just an opinion, I am not an investor or speculator, just an AFOL who enjoys building.

  35. Futhermore, no stores should price match clearance (it's against their policies) for obvious reasons - This is considered an unethical thing to attempt and is highly frowned upon in the Brickpicker community. The person in the Facebook group is sleazy, and worse for bragging about it.

  36. When sales start to taper off and the demand slows down. An intelligent business doesn't retire something that consistently sells out as fast as they produce it.... right now they're just printing money.
