Boston Craigslist buy $150. The ladys ad listed for a week or so with only 2 small pictures and a vague description of what was in the lot. I finally after a week or so inquired about more pictures and being smoke free. She got back to me with a 3rd picture of the books which was sort of underwhelming. She said she was going to update the ad with more pictures and info on how nice the condition is. Good thing I checked the updated ad with multiple pictures showing this was a must buy at 2am this morning. I immediately sent an email saying I'd take the lot and I'd drive the 1.5 hrs to pick up. I was sure by the time I got up at 6am someone else would of sniped it. Well that didn't happen which was great. She replied that we could meet at a TRU. Turns out her 16 yea rold son wanted a computer for school. I see some nice stuff. I'm sure most isn't complete but I really just wanted the train.8 points

So I was browsing Shopgoodwill last night and I saw this lot I was confused why there were so many bags 4,5,6,7 but nothing else earlier. I was trying to figure out what it was. Meanwhile I was also looking at this lot It took me forever to realize that this lot was only half the Death Star (I was thinking the whole thing was in there) with bags 2 and 3 unopened and the other half was in the other lot.3 points

There are many reasons to auction. I am selling a MF auction style and I started it at $1 with no reserve. It gets a lot of eye balls on the auction and it can go higher because people don't want to lose out. Those eyeballs cam also look at me other listings2 points

It's really up to you @eddie412. I never do anything over 16 oz as "free shipping" because I live on the east coast. For me shipping to California vs. shipping to New York can mean the difference between profit and loss. Other say free shipping attracts more buyers to their listings and it works for them. But I will say, in my opinion when selling Lego, 99 times out of 100, selling auction style is for dopes. I have never found it to be of use to me. Search for the item you are selling on eBay and sort for "sold" items. Compare prices of items sold at auction vs. items sold as "Buy-it-Now". You will almost always find BIN will bring a higher price.2 points

Wow glad I stumbled across this thread. I was contacted by this buyer about 2 weeks ago. Left his e-mail address and phone number, so I kept in contact with him through e-mail after that so eBay would have no trace of the convo. He asked me to list sets o would be willing to get rid of, so I did, and he made me an offer. I denied it, made him and counter offer and he denied it, he then made me a counter offer on that and I accepted. I can say with confidence it is not a scam, he was very picky about which sets he wanted, and was pretty petty when haggling the price. I went ahead with it. I got paid over a week ago. He got his delivery, I got my credit card paid off. Nice and easy. I find it hilarious I'm the only one who did business with this guy lol.2 points

Working on flipping my second MILF (3rd if you include selling my spot in line opening day). Sold the last for $1300 cash locally. Got an email from someone interested, lived less than 10 miles away. Asked them when they'd want to meet. Response was "Can you accept Paypal and ship it?". Told them they were close enough that I can just drop it off. They demanded to pay via Paypal and that I ship the box the less than 10 miles down the road to them. Not sure they could make it more obvious that they were trying to scam me, or they're using stolen funds... either way, I want nothing to do with it.2 points

Not today but a couple days ago. Proposed on the London Eye (they have a package deal for you) She said yes. She puts up with me and lego so it was a no brainer!2 points

I think for Lego, sets like Saturn V doesn't actually offer much in the way of profit. It’s more about giving back to the Lego community by creating cool sets that are inspired by Lego fans and are not actually attached to any theme. The opportunity to create long-term value for Lego is not there in these sets and not worth the extra production cost to increase the amount available for sale. This is just an opinion, I am not an investor or speculator, just an AFOL who enjoys building.1 point

FVF on shipping makes sense to get rid of the follk who list in an item cheap then add scandalous shipping costs, thinking the commission is only on the item value. Nothing to stop you adding the Ebay and Paypal commission onto the shipping costs so as not to lose money.1 point

When I get these types of "I buy all your LEGO" messages, I find them impossible to do business with because they want absurdly low prices. I'd be interested to know what you sold and for how much and if you made any profit.1 point

Wasn't assuming anything. I based it on 25,000+ tranactions per year every year. Of course I've been burned and seen just about every scam in the book and will see plenty more going forward as they evolve techniques over the years. It is just a very small fraction of overall business and seems to get made way worse then it is by reading forums. Everyone has there own comfort level of what they want to sell dollar wise online and that is fine. I've sold plenty of things over the years that have raised a suspicion but in the end they turned out fine and I was the one being over reactive. I was just pointing out the risks are not as high as some may lead you to believe in the overall picture.1 point

10240 Red Five X-wing for €280 (buy-in was €189). So that's €91 cash profit. Using this sale to pay for my purchase of one 10225 R2-D2 from @Ciglione1 point

Could it be this nameless "DUPLO Free Agent Football Quarterback" has a certain resemblance with a real life Free Agent Football Quarterback?... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bf0ace65-057c-4384-94fc-50ed5e8c5c5d1 point

Sold a set to a buyer. Feedback was left "Item arrived quickly and in perfect condition!" Message arrived from same buyer stating that the item was in great condition, but they thought it was pretty cheap of me to reuse a box and not put their set in a box that was picked up new from the store. Pretty sure on this order I used a Target shipping box that was in perfect condition. Set wrapped in bubbles and sent on its way. No reason to respond and upset one of our valued buyers with too much money to blow. But I'll have to hack down a tree next time for a fresh box when I see his username appear. At 400% profit nature will just need to take one for the team. I'll plant a sapling in its memory.1 point

Another hint that the Ferrari F40 is going exit. Someone in The Netherlands bought a 10248 Ferrari F40 in a toy-store and the owner mentioned to him that he can't order that set any longer.1 point

As you may know, the new LEGO[emoji768] Star Wars[emoji769]Millennium Falcon (75192), our largest LEGO set ever, went on sale exclusively to VIP Members on September 14. We are very excited that we received such a positive response from fans like yourself, it exceeded all of our expectations! Unfortunately, that also means the first batch has already sold out. The good news is we are making more as quickly as possible and expect to have very limited quantities available for the remainder of 2017. We have extended the VIP-only access period, which means the new inventory will remain exclusive to VIPs at least through November. To make your wait a little easier, you can now sign up to receive back-in-stock notifications. Simply confirm your interest below and we’ll email you when a new batch of the Millennium Falcon (75192) is available on shop.lego.com If you'd rather make your purchase at your favorite LEGO Brand Retail store, please call or visit your local store starting Friday 9/29 and ask a Brick Specialist to add you to the wait list.1 point

So i did end up getting 1 yesterday. The hype sure seemed to have died down, 30 or so people in line on release day (i was there and turned around when i saw the line), and only 7 of us at the location when it opened yesterday, 4 of them were there since 5am, we got there at 6:30 i believe. They all did sell out though as people came in at opening time and secured the last 4, but damn i could have got a lot more sleep haha. It was fun though, dragged the lady with me to keep me company Pretty sure at least 1 in the line was dirty re-seller scum Still have my backorder, considering what to do with it. Even selling at $100 over is nice because you also get the nice chunk of VIP points, but that would have to be locally, no way i'm risking selling this on ebay. The one i picked up is for building as i'm so impatient, did up to bags 3 last night, very similar to 10179 inside, but seeing all the differences makes it more fun! The interior areas for the minifigs are so cool to build.1 point

I cancelled my order. Taking too long and I'll just wait for double-VIP and a good promo, or make your own discount at another retailer. No tax at Amazon and using rewards sounds pretty appealing.1 point

Well after getting through all 8 films and trying to work out which was the bigger mistake in the prequel films Jar-Jar or Hayden Christensens wooden acting, I finally finished the mighty Falcon. I've no idea where it is going to live until I get my man cave but it was definitely worth every penny. Next up will be to sort out some lighting. Plenty of room behind the engine tubes for led strips and the rear left compartment has plenty of room for a battery box. I don't care what price these get to before Christmas, I'm glad I built mine.1 point

RE: investment. I'd probably take it outside the context of the popularity of any movie based sets. This is just a great standalone build that would fit in well with pirate ship's. A detailed design rather than crazy ott design of seacow. I guess it really depends on how long its around for but I'm optimistic. Put it this way, I'm no ninjago fan but this was a day one purchase for me.1 point
