  1. Wasn't expecting another big set from this line myself, looks interesting! https://www.brothers-brick.com/2017/09/26/70922-joker-manor-lego-batman-movie-officially-revealed-news/

  4. that's odd that was in July's wave. Course they like to stagger them throughout the country now. Next wave is below. Few others like Turtle and another one I can't remember at moment. More of the recirculation of poly's already available other places but a few neat ones. Santa should be B&N / Target again like last few years.

  6. "The Joker Steamroller is the new hot toy for this Christmas season. The number of popular Batman Characters and its relatively cheap price combine with an excellent batwing to make a set that every boy will love."

  7. Well, I sold all four of my Gingerbread Houses on Amazon FBA for $709. Missed my goal of paying for the MiLF with free Lego, but close!

  9. I could totally imagine a medieval monster hunter type theme. Old school Castlevania atmosphere, paladins, dark knights, powerful wizards, clerics and adventurers hunting vampires, werewolves, gorgons and other beasts. One thing was sure for LEGO in recent years: people dig monsters, and a theme like this could be more relatable to people than nexotrash.

  11. A vanilla Castle theme was tried a couple years ago and met with nigh moderate approval altogether. I would imagine something about the concept and general feel behind Nexo Knights and Ninjago have been received well enough to continue forward. Genre mixing has and continues being popular in all forms. Why be stuck under the confines of a strict rule set (aka reality) when a realm of unlimited potential can be born from one's imaginative mind's eye. If anything that is the LEGO Company's core concept and perhaps what attributes to such themes ongoing popularity. Also the level of technology helps these themes to be more relatable with the targeted audience of the present day world.

  12. Just finished up ucs y-wing. I like this build, the detail on the ship is well done. It seems to hold up against repeated fuzzball attacks too! (I'm fostering those guys for local spca)

  15. While the design is based on the structure in the movie, this also feels inspired by or at the least similar to that one humongous Joker's Funhouse MOC from a while back. Hopefully those new coaster track pieces are a good indicator of what we can expect to see from LEGO's fairground theme and perhaps some other sets as well.

  18. I'm pleasantly surprised by this set. Plus, this gives me hope for a Creator Fairground roller coaster (to go with the Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Fairground Mixer) in 2018. Especially since it looks like they have some new elements....the purple coaster track and lime green roller coaster train.

  19. It was sold by Amazon, LLC, and came from an Amazon warehouse. The only other one I've gotten from Amazon came in the LEGO carton, which was fine because it is a very sturdy box. The two I got from SAH were also shipped in the LEGO carton but inside a shipping box as well. I've never seen Amazon ship LEGO without a shipping box before, so this was a nasty surprise.

"Whenever I order one now I call Amazon up and tell them I want it sent in a box, and the last 3 have come in one of those perfect Lego Boxes and all were mint, So if you get one on Amazon call them up right away and them them. 29. By watered down I meant there are just too many sets. I believe there are 18 sets not counting CMFs, polybags, and this new Joker Manor. This is on top of any super hero Batman sets out now. They are all good sets for the most part but with so many it's tough for one or two to stand out. Where is the investment winner in this line? I thought the target set had a chance but it's hanging around too long. Jurassic World had 5-6 sets? Most have been winners. I know that's not a lego movie but 18+ sets is Star Wars territory. Lego Batman ain't Star Wars.

  30. Sea Cow came like 1 month after release, not 9-ish. Separately, I do not think that TLBM line would be watered down. Most sets are quite good and creative, definitely at least on the level of TLM sets. Three years ago this quality would have been considered outstanding. The problem is that general set quality increased so much in the recent years, that the bar to capture out appreciation has moved even higher. This creates a perception of oversaturation for the run-of-the-mill collector. I see this the reason behind LEGO's increased push for high piece count sets, to capture interest and generate hype, as well designed smaller sets are just too common now. Too bad that they are falling into the same trap, they can't just continue making larger and larger sets.

  32. Hey, I think I earned partial credit in imaginary points. This should've been one of the first sets, instead of one of the last. Also, make it a 2-in-1 with instructions for regular Wayne Manor online.

  33. So you've been reading the same thread I have lol. According to someone else with authority on the matter, the "Shop Your Way Superstore" concept that was in testing may be coming to play. With Elmhurst IL being a testing ground (would explain why they closed the Kmart there, it was top 10% in the chain)

  34. Thanks for all the advice. I have complained to Amazon both about the packaging (There was none!!!) and about the order. They are offering me a 30% refund if I keep it. I think I will keep it and build it. I'll still be snagging as many as I can get. Normally I'm a QFLL'ing fool looking for cash flow, but this is one set I'm buying and holding. I'm certain even a "used" version of this set built for display will appreciate just fine and with the buy-in price I'll end up with, I'll get well over what I paid for it if I ever decide to sell it after it retires to the secondary market. (This of course is the problem with being a fan first and investor second - one can always talk oneself into opening a box!).

  35. Some of the TRU exclusives are also carried by Barnes and Noble. Wonder Woman is there as well as Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive. Maybe others.

  38. just because it's in production doesn't mean it will be easy to acquire in bulk. it's been in production 4 months already. demand is no where near met and that can't even offer any to sell. definitely that's more than 10% of its life has passed by if you were to say that the set was going to stick around for 38 months which would be a long production life. how many more 10%'s before you start to get worried that you hadn't been stocking quite possibly the coolest lego set of all time for afol? also if you read between the lines, emazer's is hoarding saturn's to the point that he's on the phone with amazon telling jeff how he'd like things done.

  39. Any of those TRU exclusives worth picking up at these prices? I still need the Wonder Woman set.

  40. Sorry, you're right .. I don't own any of those bootleg fakes so I can only judge on what I see or read. PS Oversized copy is not identical, but now we're getting technical aren't we? What I see is fakes and copies and sellers who are skirting the laws overtly. See, the thing is that you may not agree with the premise of buying for the quick flip around here but it's 100% LEGAL to do so. Copying someone else's product/design without permission, marketing it as the real thing by copying their logo and marketing materials, selling them with the promise of getting around tax laws .... NOT LEGAL. Every single member of this forum who has posted illegal ways of obtaining discounts or selling their product has: 1. had their posts deleted 2. been warned or banned from posting without approval 3. been outright banned from the site My comment is simply ... I love those fan-made products that do not claim to be authentic products. They take a real idea and make it better (I have not the time nor the money nor the desire to collect them, but many do). Licensing? That's an issue for another day .. That local collector that I've traded/bought/sold with showed me on the back of the Takara Tomy boxes the TWO Chinese symbols/letters/words (not sure what to call them, I do not speak Chinese) that are different on the KO packaging. They are buried in the back near the UPC symbol. That is legit unscrupulous branding and packaging. How many people likely have those thinking they are genuine? If those asshats who made bogus bricks made their OWN designs of the UCS Millennium Falcon and it was better, go for it... sell it, make a profit. Then you can deal with Disney and licensing. But when they piggy back their own business plan on the success of someone else ... well, that's poor and unethical if not illegal in many parts of the world. PS I'm not judging you for your beliefs, I'm judging because every single person who has disagreed with you on these forums gets some over the top holier than thou bullshit in response normally avoiding the entire point of the original comments/discussion and directing that conversation in a direction about unsavoury resellers and how nasty we all are. TL;DR When members are asses in the forums, they get modded without question (I'm not perfect, I've been modded myself). Fakes and knockoffs of any kind are not welcome because they're highly questionable, likely unethical and often illegal. Discussion is tolerated because it does affect the LEGO reselling market. That's a pretty bold and jaded statement. Have you ever considered taking a break for a while?
