I'm calling this as the precursor to a Fairgrounds Rollercoaster set in 2018.

I could totally imagine a medieval monster hunter type theme. Old school Castlevania atmosphere, paladins, dark knights, powerful wizards, clerics and adventurers hunting vampires, werewolves, gorgons and other beasts. One thing was sure for LEGO in recent years: people dig monsters, and a theme like this could be more relatable to people than nexotrash.

A vanilla Castle theme was tried a couple years ago and met with nigh moderate approval altogether. I would imagine something about the concept and general feel behind Nexo Knights and Ninjago have been received well enough to continue forward. Genre mixing has and continues being popular in all forms. Why be stuck under the confines of a strict rule set (aka reality) when a realm of unlimited potential can be born from one's imaginative mind's eye. If anything that is the LEGO Company's core concept and perhaps what attributes to such themes ongoing popularity. Also the level of technology helps these themes to be more relatable with the targeted audience of the present day world.

Just finished up ucs y-wing. I like this build, the detail on the ship is well done. It seems to hold up against repeated fuzzball attacks too! (I'm fostering those guys for local spca)

I tried to find a good .gif for "selling out the back door", but most of the hits returned were of Farrah Abraham. Not the back door I was looking for...

While the design is based on the structure in the movie, this also feels inspired by or at the least similar to that one humongous Joker's Funhouse MOC from a while back. Hopefully those new coaster track pieces are a good indicator of what we can expect to see from LEGO's fairground theme and perhaps some other sets as well.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this set. Plus, this gives me hope for a Creator Fairground roller coaster (to go with the Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Fairground Mixer) in 2018. Especially since it looks like they have some new elements....the purple coaster track and lime green roller coaster train.

It was sold by Amazon, LLC, and came from an Amazon warehouse. The only other one I've gotten from Amazon came in the LEGO carton, which was fine because it is a very sturdy box. The two I got from SAH were also shipped in the LEGO carton but inside a shipping box as well. I've never seen Amazon ship LEGO without a shipping box before, so this was a nasty surprise.

So it seems that customer support is pretty clueless. So I already have one, but just for kicks I had a few moments and decided to call LEGO customer support and ask when I might be able to place an order. On the first two calls the service agent only told me they would be getting them available as soon as possible. But they have no date known. The third call led me to someone who said they will appear here and there in store to try and get some on the shelves while they continue sending out the back orders, but likely won't open back up for online or phone orders until 2018 due to the massive backlog of sets they need to create. He may have no idea what he is talking about, but with one sealed at home the profit margin would climb the closer it gets to Christmas if no new orders are available. It will make for a holly jolly Christmas whether I keep it for me, or the price jumps so much that I can get my next one for free.

Looks like a nice set, although derivative of a bunch of previous joker sets. Investment wise looks like Sea Cow 2.0. I think Sea Cow was a later release in that line too. Surprised to see sets still hitting for this movie. The Batman movie line is so watered down already. I suppose every line is though so why not?

A profit of 34 euro cash is not bad. Especially since it retired last year(?) and there still are quite a few sellers.

Got an offer of €90 cash for 75052 (Mos Eisley Cantina). That's original (Dutch) RRP for this set, while my buy-in was €56. Was expecting a bit more love for this set, considering the unique max-fig (Dewback) but oh well. Freeing the money for new purchases is also good.

man, I kid you not, my son and I tore apart the Carolinas the past 2 weekends looking for those and struck out big time. i then read this post, so we head over to our closest target, and lo and behold, the Jackson storm, Hudson hornet, and fabulous lightning McQueen, taco, cigalert, and jack depost were all there! thank you for the heads up, otherwise i probably wouldn't have tried today.

You're right things require balance .. people have been shut down in the forums for posting "hey, who's with me to jack up the price of X" stock manipulation fraudulent returns tax evasion People have discussed them all and more. All of those behaviors upset the balance of the secondary market and portray Brickpicker as a community in a negative way. Most members here do not want that because it is an unfair picture of how most members conduct themselves but as a society, we pick and choose those negative moments as highlights and expressions of how the world is. It's not about an echo chamber, it's about being polite and truthfully many of your comments about resellers make you come across as an ass passing judgement on everyone who does it. We get enough "bad press" from people on other LEGO fan sites and in my opinion (and many of those here) it is unwarranted. They pick one moment in time and label all resellers as "blood suckers in it just to make a buck." People don't want to read (rightly or wrongly) "And this is why people frown upon resellers and their impact on normal availability... not just "providing a service" " because whether you see it or not, your comment implies 1) you don't agree with it and 2) that it should not have been done in the first place. It was not helpful nor conducive to intelligent conversation - I was surprised to read it and was surprised people let it go so easily. I can provide more examples, please don't make me. But let's get something straight - I agree with much of what you say, just not how you say it. That's been said of me as well, but after four years and at least a half dozen members such as yourself coming here and "telling us how the market works and why people hate us" we tire of it and maybe focus on things we shouldn't. Or maybe we should tell members when they're coming across as pompous and arrogant? Maybe they didn't mean to and we're just providing constructive feedback? Let's call that the Ironbrick effect. He's one of the most notorious members to join in the last couple of years who was constantly telling us we were WRONG, INCORRECT and didn't understand a thing about the secondary market (why it exists or how it works). I have no idea who you are or what your situation is - good on you for paying for your kids college. I am quite a small investor around these parts .. most of our disposable income goes to our kids' activities and travel. My FREECASH points disappeared last week, only to return Friday with a clear "in store only" clause. Expiring today. I happened to be relatively close to a KMart in KY, so I popped by to check it out. Indeed, worked like a charm ..... Thanks again for the free LEGO, Kmart! Btw, clearance was still at 30% off, and was all dumped on low shelves towards the front of the store. Luckily there's still more clearance hiding on top shelves, and the bigger and better sets for that matter. Might need to keep an eye out

no one really knows, but if TLG can drop the ball on Saturn V, I can completely see them underestimating the demand for this UCS Falcon since it is a 800 dollar set and somehow the number 20k black VIP cards keeps coming up. TLG may have thought 20k was enough to satisfy demand at least until the end of the year. I imagine even if they backfill all the online orders, they will probably not allow any more online purchase until stores begin to carry regular inventory beyond weeks.

I use this video to motivate my kids. No matter how high and mighty you become in the galaxy, repeated failure (losing 2 Death Stars, forgetting about security cameras when wiping out your academy, not taking the high ground, consistently delegating to morons, etc...) will drag you back down to reality.

Definitely on their last legs, but so are alot of retail chains. 2018 is going to be brutal for brick and mortar. Walmart and Target adapted to shift focus to online, the rest will not be around much longer. Lots of chains we all grew up with will vanish by 2019. Amazon will be broken up by the Feds but Bezos has been prepping for this eventuality for many years and has been diligently separating all of their brands from each other. Kmart, Sears, Toys R US, Macys, Kohls will all be history. Amazon will also take out Autozone, NAPA etc within 5 years. The big clothing chains were already destroying themselves prior to Amazon so Wardrobe will pick them off extremely quickly. Costco and Kroger should last a bit longer, but just a bit. Their online offerings are a joke.
