When I somehow still don't have one (or ten) then something is definitely wrong with a release.10 points

Here's my next Batman minifigure display. I wanted to display the Batman figs together, so I found inspiration in some images of Wayne Tower. Originally, I was going to only put the Batman figs on the display, but I needed more height on the display to make it look like a tower, so I added the Robin minifigures. The display should have all variants of Batman and Robin minifigures except the SDCC minifigures. My apologies for the glare on the figs...enjoy!8 points

40,000 people looking to buy this set that morning...NO WAY. A couple of thousand...I'll give you. There a couple of hundred active posters on here and Brickset and Eurobricks, etc...bitching they couldn't get one. Don't let a few active threads give the impression of such a demand. LEGO wants you to think this set is in such demand. If LEGO had enough Falcons to satisfy everyone, nobody would be talking about it. Been there, done that...4 points

Jang should review at least one of the 2 UCS MF sets as he's done zero so far. as others have stated, reviewing 75192 for his youtube channel must not be worth the time, mental state and energy . i'm sure he'll end up reviewing 75192 sooner than later. TLG does give you and @Jeff Mack two things. headaches and the occasional e-mail.4 points

i work at a top 50 fortune company that have insane monthly, quarterly and super-sized end of year batch data loads. i manage the dept. that makes sure we are properly scaled in non-prod to predict prod load handling during busy times w/ our 3rd party vendor installed in our system. we started using AWS in-addition to our existing in-house hardware. i even brought in Exadata 6 years ago which was costly but more than made up for perf issues w/ the vendor's software on the 10 app server mode cluster (we started w/ 4 app server nodes) bottom line is that like me, IT dept leaders at places such as amazon, netflix, ebay, comcast xfinity, and walmart learned to scale properly. while it's technical, that's also a method of the "crazy made scientist" madness for making decisions on when and how to scale. when the ACA website opened shop, they learned the hard way. well, the lego, hbo-go and ticketmaster web sites still function like the old ACA one which itsself looked like in was built in 2005. there's no excuse for poor performance just like poor security. only diff is you can blame performance and inability to take orders on your tons of customers and excellent products. can't use that excuse when it comes security as that's a diff beast. thus, i think honestly lego wanted to brag about 75192 being so popular, consumers overwhelmed the web site and then imply their web site is strong enough to handle it but couldn't due to way too much 75192 demand,3 points

Let's be honest, when you've got: You have Chima sets still on the shelf, that have been retired for 2+ years, and they're still marked above RRP, You don't automatically PM your website (and PM'ing negates coupons and other discounts), You jack up the prices above RRP so that your sales aren't really sales, You have so many exclusions on your coupons, that you need a magnifying glass to read them, Your jacked up prices cause people to just go to the other big box store (Target, Walmart) that sells LEGO in the same shopping center ...you're gonna have trouble staying in business.3 points

pure calculation. the $$$ he will potentialy get from ads and viewers won't cover the costs of the original purchase, it's not even about hobby or lack of space, pure calculation from him. I respect his decision because he is probably the only one reviewer with that audience who is not getting paid for reviews so he has still full independence in his thoughts.2 points

Ordered mine from LEGO Shop at Home on Thursday and it shipped Friday. Hopefully I will have it early this week.2 points

Good for JANG. He is my go to reviewer on sets and while I would love to hear what he thinks of it, I totally understand his reasons for not reviewing it. Too large of a buy in for a set he has no space for display or interest in. I'm surprised LEGO never sends review copies his way. Doesn't seem like they do that for a lot of youtubers.2 points

Hi everyone! I'm new to posting on BP but have been lurking for awhile now. below are a few pics of a MOC that I originally made to be a center piece to my daughter's LEGO elf village. It never really got finished because she decided to use it as a night light! Now if course my son would like something as well. For the lighting I used shapeable wire Christmas LED lighting. I hunted around online for some model lights but everything was pretty pricy. Any suggestions on good deals out there or any suitable alternatives? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!2 points

These Collectable Minifigures and the way of acquiring specific characters has come up in many a conversation, so I thought it would just be simpler to pool our info into this one spot like a "how to" guide for anyone. I'll start off with some things that work for me. 1. Understand the contents All the pieces inside each mystery bag are separated. Sometimes you will have a head get stuck inside a helmet or armor though which can throw off your game. To help reduce that problem or spread out the parts inside, take the packet at the top and shake it bit or gently smack it on the face of your palm. You can do this at the start of each packet you smoosh to feel it out better in the end or if one has you stumped. 2. Rule out the common denominators For the most part save for a select few (Chicken Suit Guy comes to mind) have these common components. 1 head, 1 torso, 1 pair of legs, 1 3x4 stand with 4 studs going across the middle, and 1 pamphlet. Everything else is parts that make up that character which brings me up to the next point. 3. Find out what makes each special It helps to know what parts are truly unique to specific characters. For example, Tomahawk Warrior is the only character from Series 10 with a Mohawk piece so you can feel for that besides the tomahawk weapon. A couple of characters will share a part like say a coffee mug, but they always have one part at least that is unique to them. 4. Feel with your fingers and nails, and do so with your eyes shut Since you are quite literally feeling blind, try to visualize what each piece is by feel using the tips of your fingers and edge of your nails. It can help to feel similar pieces you already own and eventually try doing so without even looking at the part. 5. Research and visualize your target For the stores that put out the retailers box, this makes smooshing much easier because you have an image of each character right in front of you. As for the norm where they just put a bunch of mystery packets on racks, it is much trickier and here is what I do. Look at the images for each Minifigure in the series and study each ones composition. Make a list you can printout showing the name of the character and his or her non common parts. I am going to use the Roman Emperor from Series 9 as an example simply because he is both the easiest and most difficult one to figure out. Roman Emperor - small hairpiece with many grooves, 2x2 tile It is crude but all that matters is it works for you when reading it like your own shorthand. I highlighted the 2x2 tile because out of Series 9, he is the only one with that part. Plus the hairpiece can be confused for some of the others. These are just some tips that help get me going and I tried the best I could to put what has since become second nature to me into words. Since this is a discussion about smooshing techniques, how about you share some of what you do to find the characters you want? Here is an easy method to having a visual aide and list taken from BuckeyeFanDan's reply. Buy any single mystery bag at random, then take out and keep the included pamphlet with you. A perfect reference doubling as a checklist. Brilliant!1 point

You will start seeing counterfeit signatures and everything else. People will start messing with bids if they haven't already. You will never know if these people paid and completed the transaction. Who keeps track of the 150 people who bought and resold the legit copies? Nobody. There is no official record. Unload it soon is my advice.1 point

You are being kind. Let's face it, this whole "We didn't think it would be so popular" response is a calculated can of spam. Of course they knew. Of course they could have made more. If they didn't think so, someone should be fired for incompetence. Even LEGO is getting into the spin and fake news business. Let's artificially inflate the interest around the set to stir lackluster sales. Sad thing is, they didn't have to do that with this set, but I guess they are getting nervous about future profits in general. I also wonder if it all backfired on them. The prices of the available 75192s on eBay is only fueling the flipping market again and pissing more people off....Or behind closed doors, do they want to see these prices hit crazy levels?1 point

I got my order in at Shop the first day. The order is marked shipped with 2 different tracking numbers. The freebies come up as "Label created" and the other tells me no such tracking number exists..... grrr1 point

Some over-critical (in the eyes of TLG) reviewers have had their free set allowance cancelled. After all the hoo-haa about the TLJ embargo video takedown, I think he has done the right thing too.1 point

are you really going to build it? it's a mother of a set to build but totally worth it. took me over a month building in March-April 2015 while the family were asleep a couple nights per week. 75192 is basically the same but with extra bells and whistles on the outside. each time i was done building at night, i would carry it downstairs praying nothing would bump into it. each night it would get heavier and heavier.1 point

Today my computer was giving me some trouble with getting video off of my camera to my computer. So while the files were transferring, I built this old Blacktron 2 set: The Aerial Intruder! It was a nice break from doing the newest Star Wars sets that I've been making my way through for my YouTube channel. There's something about the sets from the 80's/90's space themes that are just awesome (for me).1 point
